My child loves attending this nursery and runs off happily each time she goes. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always on hand to answer any questions. I’ve only given four stars as the app seems very hit-and-miss. Sometimes I receive lots of updates then it seems nothing apart from lunch for
a week or two. Would love to see more pictures and videos of the time my child is there.

Our children have been going to this nursery for 2 and a half years and have recently increased their hours.
They love going to nursery and talk about the staff and children at home.
They often play 'nursery' at home so it's safe to say they absolutely love it.
Recently on pick-up, they have been
asking why I've been picking them up so quickly as they have been having fun.
The staff at the nursery are lovely everyone is so friendly and always willing to help with anything needed.

Our son has been with the nursery since January 2023. It is still early days into our experience however, our son enjoys going and we can already see things he is learning. The staff seem friendly enough and our son is very fond of them all. The app is a great tool to see what they have been up to.
I appreciate there are a lot of children to care for but would be nice to see this updated more often.

I have 2 children at the nursery and they are very happy there! The staff are absolutely lovely and really care about the children. I know the nursery have had issues with staffing and they have done a great job recently of covering so that the two rooms can remain open. They have recently started going
back on trips out and about and looking forward to more of those. The garden overlooks a busy road which is a shame but obviously not a fault of the nursery! The manager is fab and knows all of the children really well.

The manager and the team here are brilliant. Very friendly and inviting. My son absolutely loves it here. His speech has come on brilliantly since attending and he has become very outgoing and eager to experience new things along with being very confident in every aspect of life. The only thing I would
say could be improved on is the child portal where parents can see what their child has done during the day activity-wise and meals etc. Only meals and nappy changes are logged nothing else so it would be welcomed massively if it could be updated with pictures, descriptions etc of what they have done during the day once a week or something along those lines. As I would love to know in more detail what he has been doing/learning. But other than that, lovely place for my son and would highly recommend it to others.

My 2-year-old son attends nursery at Mama Bears Wells Road. The team there have been so fantastic in his development.
He was born during the covid pandemic and has had a hard time mixing with other children or leaving me.
The team have always put my mind at ease by keeping me up to date via updates
on the app or calling to reassure me when he hasn’t been so happy going in in the morning. He always leaves with a smile on his face and tells me all of the activities he’s done during the day, whether this be painting pictures, playing outside or going on a bear hunt. I couldn’t work without having the appropriate support from such a good nursery and they really don’t get enough credit for what they do.
Thank you to everyone at Mama Bears for making my son and myself feel so comfortable, we don’t know what we’d do without you.

Would highly recommend this nursery to anyone. All the staff are lovely and do their jobs with such high standards. My child absolutely loves going to nursery and has the best time there. If he had his own way he would quite happily stay there instead of moving up to reception at a new school.

My daughter has been with Mama Bear's for just over a year, she only goes one morning per week but she absolutely loves it and is thriving. She loves to tell me all about her day at school (as she calls it!). The staff are all very friendly and approachable.
The homemade food is also a hit with my
daughter who is otherwise a very fussy eater, but she eats most of what she's given at nursery. Look forward to enrolling my 7-week-old when the time comes.

It has been brought to my attention that the nursery has been taking children on day trips recently. Despite my child attending the setting since November 2019, she has never been taken out on a trip.
It's very frustrating that the nursery cannot put together trips that accommodate every child that
attends.


My child's keyworker who we got on really well with left the setting and it wasn't until someone else was brought in to replace her that we were told that she had actually left and this was nearly 2 months after. We only found out through social media that this was the case.


The parent zone app is very rarely fully completed on a daily basis and when it is completed it is not all correct.


The care that my child receives from the girls in the school is brilliant and I cannot fault them for how they look after her daily. She always leaves nursery happy and confident and I am happy and confident knowing she gets the best care. But the general running of the nursery isn't great.

My son has been attending Mama Bear's Hengrove since he was just 11 months old, he is now 4. He has developed from a shy toddler who wouldn’t leave my side, to a thriving child with all the skills and confidence needed for starting school thanks to the team at Mama Bear's. He always has a lovely day,
participates in plenty of different activities and enjoys nice food. He absolutely loves all the staff there and has made some lovely friends. Even in difficult times over the past year the team have always tried their best to keep a bit of normality for the children. Many thanks Mama Bear's Hengrove!

My daughter has only been there a few months but the growth of her talking and social skills have been amazing! She loves going and all of the girls there are doing an amazing job! Both of my children have attended Mama Bears from 9-months-old, and both have thrived. My son is now four and due to start school in September, and I feel that this nursery has given him a really good grounding so that he is prepared and ready to start. My son always comes out happy and smiling, and
staff really work hard to make sure that he, and all the children, are happy and settled. He can play games/do artwork, which he is interested in, and learns through play at the same time. I like that I am kept updated about what he has eaten via the app, and also receive frequent updates about activities my son has taken part in.

I am grateful to all the Wells Road Hengrove staff for doing their best to look after my child during this difficult time as I had to work as an NHS staff. My baby girl always looked forward to going to nursery, or should I say, she’s always looking forward to going in and enjoys all the staff company.

Mama Bear's is a good nursery and my child enjoy attending.
Recently it has been difficult with childcare unpredictability, but I understand this is out of anyone control.
I have had issues with understanding my incorrect payments. I have emailed and called the finance team and had no response.

My son started at this nursery when he was just 7 months old, he is now 4 and only has a week to go here before starting primary school in September. I can honestly say that he has loved his time here which of course makes us as parents feel reassured. The staff are all wonderful and caring. Activities
and facilities are excellent. Food is varied and healthy. Thank you all at Hengrove. We as a family will miss you.
