We were recommended this nursery by friends of ours and we didn't look at any others after viewing it for ourselves. The staff are so helpful, professional, knowledgable and cannot do enough for our daughter. We have been so impressed by the level of care our daughter receives and how much it has helped
her emotional and physical development being in this wonderfully nurturing environment. It is never too much trouble to ask a question and the staff are so positive and help in any way they can. Our overall impression is that the staff are very happy to be working there and love working with the young children, which makes it even more enjoyable for the youngsters.
This nursery comes highly recommended by lots of parents in our area and we are so pleased to have it local to us. Our daughter settled very quickly and I think this is a testament to the professionalism and welcoming nature of everyone at Henbury Hill House Acorns. Thank you!

My daughter started at Henbury Hill House after previously attending a different nursery. The staff were very helpful and supportive of this transition, which helped my daughter settle really well.
Over the past few months, she has gained confidence and made good friendships.
The children's activities
are always fantastic and are talked about all the home.
Thank you, Henbury.

Both of our daughters have attended Acorns, Henbury Hill for the past 4 years and it has given them an excellent start in life.

Staff are genuinely kind and caring and do all that they can to help your child. The facilities are lovely, with a large outdoor space. Playtime is plentiful. Our children

have especially enjoyed forest school, and often come home raving about the day that they have had! Our kitchen is full of 'art work' that they have made at Acorns. We are sad that they are off to 'big school' and have to leave Acorns - it really is an excellent nursery!

My grandson started at the nursery when he was 12mths old and settled in very quickly due to the calm experienced staff. He soon became a confident toddler who enjoyed learning and socialising which ensured he was ready for the transition to school. Myself and my daughter were extremely pleased with
the wonderful care my grandson had.

This is a fabulous nursery, my godson has come on so much since going here, his speech is amazing and he surprises me every day with what he comes out with. His confidence has grown and he loves telling me all about the things he does in nursery. The Manager is fantastic, any problems and she gets to
the bottom of it really quickly and she’s so helpful and lovely to talk to she’s a real asset. My godson loves her :) I am now looking at sending my own son there in a couple of months time.

Acorns have been amazing from day one. I currently have three children in their care, one which has additional needs and they have been accommodating, inclusive, understanding, caring and welcoming. The staff are all extremely friendly and have a genuine passion for childcare. The positive nature of
the staff makes Acorns a lovely place for children to play and learn. The nursery is always clean and has a warm nurturing feel to it. The nursery always has themed days and the children produce art to bring home.

Putting your children in childcare can be scary and emotional, as a mother of three young children, one with additional needs and minimal family support, Acorns Henbury Hill have been brilliant, seeing my children happy and supported is priceless.

I find Acorns to be an excellent setting for my daughter. She has settled well there and has formed lovely bonds with the staff. It is evident that she gains a lot from being there. I notice a lot of things that I have taught her. I feel well communicated with by the staff.

We have been so fortunate to find Acorns. My child loves the time he spends with you and it's clear to see why - he is so stimulated and nurtured - there's always so much going on. It's clear that the staff love what they do, and it's always lovely to watch my child 'in action' before he sees us. He's
clearly so settled and secure. It wasn't easy handing him over but now we don't know what we'd do without you!

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.365)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.365) out of 10 for Acorns Henbury Hill, Bristol is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.965 for Acorns Henbury Hill, Bristol is calculated as follows: ( (139 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 144 Ratings = 4.965
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Acorns Henbury Hill, Bristol is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.6
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started working for Acorns in May 2017. I enjoy building and construction with the children, especially enjoy watching the children problem solve when engaging in the activity.

I am currently completing a degree in early years and childhood studies, which I am really enjoying. I have a little girl who used to attend Acorns, she is now in school and in my free time I enjoy spending time with her and travelling.
