Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Downend (Downend Road)

Mama Bears Downend Road was fantastic! Both my son and daughter attended Downend Road. All the staff were amazing from baby room all the way through to preschool - my son naturally confident got on well with all children and absolutely adored the staff, he was a fussy eater until he started nursery and now will try most things and I still believe this is due to the nursery, still to this day my son asks to visit the nursery to show staff his progress from big school. My daughter who's naturally a cling on adapted really well to the baby room and again into the preschool room she loved the massive garden area and made loads of friends. Again she loved all the staff. The team are outstanding! Thank you for making our nursery experience a pleasure.

This team at Mama Bears are amongst the friendliest bunch of people I've ever come across. They always have been, but it just keeps on getting better! My children are relaxed, happy and always eager to attend. Sometimes they don't actually want to leave! The manager and the team are doing a fantastic job, I'm always kept up to date and informed on all aspects of their nursery life, no matter how big or small. They are welcoming, accommodating and accepting-but most importantly I trust them with my children's lives. I always get tearful when my children have to progress from this nursery, they thrive here! And in the most challenging of times (certainly in my life), I have found the nursery staff to go above and beyond normal expectations. This is standard for them! Thank you for all that you do, even more so in these uncertain times, you have never wavered and never fail to provide an exceptional level of care for my children. Thank you!

The app is absolutely great too, with the regular updates and pictures of what she has been up to, and milestone progression grading, I cannot recommend the nursery enough, the staff are amazing.

My second son is in the pre school room of Mama Bear's Downend Road and he loves it. The nursery is a vibrant and happy place. The staff care well for the children and do such a large range of activities with them. Both of my boys have been happy and learnt lots from this setting. The staff communicate well and any emails are responded to quickly. For me, the biggest selling point of this nursery is the incredible outside space that they have and that it is utilised by the children every day come rain or shine.

My son loves going to Mama Bear's Nursery (Downend). He likes all the staff there (as do we) and especially likes the food, which from a parents point of view is always very healthy and he often has extra. They go out into the garden at every opportunity and it's great to see them playing in the garden when I pick him up. They do really fun activities and he often comes home very mucky, which is great as it shows he is getting really involved and is allowed to explore and play without staff worrying about him making a mess. The staff are all very friendly and genuinely care about all the children they look after.

The teachers at this nursery/preschool are amazing. My daughter has struggled to part herself from me to attend the nursery, but the teachers have made the transition a lot easier for me. When I ask my daughter who her friends are at school she tells me their names (they are all teachers!) she loves them all! Thanks to all the teachers at the Downend Mama Bears.

The staff are lovely and I feel my child is very safe in their hands.

My son started nursery during the pandemic when it was not possible for me to go to the settling in sessions with him, and it was a challenge at first but the staff handled it really well. He took to one staff member more than the others and they made sure that it was always her who looked after him until he was ready to accept other staff. He is now at the point where he is interacting with other children and joining in with circle time etc, so his progression has been fantastic thanks to very careful prompting by the staff so he hasn't felt pressured. Very happy with everything and will be sending my little girl in January.

My daughter has been at Mama Bear's for almost a year now and I have absolutely zero complaints. The staff are friendly and humble and the activities for the children are always well thought out and age-dependant (from the educational aspect). As vegans, my daughter has been very adequately catered for. So a big thumbs up from me there. My daughter is always so excited to tell me what she's been doing every single day; thanks so much to Mama Bears (Downend Road)

Ever since my daughter, who is 2, started the manager and the team have made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The support and feedback is fantastic. It’s great to see my daughter exploring a new world. Every time she comes home she seems to of learned something new.

My 2 year old daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year now and absolutely loves it. The staff are all so lovely and the manager is very efficient and approachable. They carry out a wide variety of activities with the children and spend lots of time in the fab garden. She comes home well fed, stimulated and happy. Would not hesitate to recommend

I'm very pleased with this nursery. My son was moved from a different Mama Bear's Day Nursery Downend Road just at the beginning of the pandemic. The nursery's management was very supportive and welcoming during the transfer. All practitioners are very lovely and made my son feel very welcome and comfortable. He loves going to the nursery. His day is filled with activities that help him develop and learn. Overall, this is a very good facility.

The nursery is compliant with the covid rules as much as I can see from the door and photos during the day.

The manager and her team have been amazing, especially with the exceptional circumstances, my son loves going into the nursery. My son has connected with all staff members, he’s learning and developing all the time. He’s excited to go in and sometimes ask for nursery time come Sunday evening. My son tends to get himself ready with his shoes, coat and hat and he knows when it’s nursery time.

Both of my daughters have attended this nursery and so we have a fairly long experience of the service the manager and the team provide and we would highly recommend them! The team are great, both of my daughters have really flourished since starting at nursery and we feel this is due to the wide range of activities that they are able to get involved with, as well as the great staff input. Communication between home and nursery is good, with regular feedback on progress and sharing of observations. I have always felt that the staff have really got to know my daughters and seen this as an indication of the level of care they have and are taking of them.

I would recommend Mama Bear's in Downend to any parent wanting to explore local nurseries, the hours/sessions they offer are perfect for most working parents.

Great, friendly nursery overall. If I had other little ones they would definitely go here.
