The Old School House Day Nursery looks after 106 children from birth to five years.

The nursery is located in a converted Victorian school building which has been adapted to provide a range of excellent facilities both indoors and out.

Owners believe that children deserve to have the best environment to play safely and have always taken care to design spaces that children enjoy.

Quality childhood experiences promote the wellbeing of both parent and child and increase the opportunity for success throughout life. The well-planned environment and research-based curriculum is enhanced by the support of a highly trained and caring team.

Through careful planning of positive and exciting play experiences to encourage natural curiosity, creative thinking and to nourish, extend and facilitate children’s love of learning enabling to thrive, blossom and flourish now and throughout the children's lives.

The Old School House Day Nursery was the best decision we made. Our childs needs were met with absolute care, empathy and compassion. We were feeling out of our depths with the level of support our child needed. The manager, deputy manager and one staff member in particular are just exceptional. They
have continued to amaze us over the past year. We are very sad that our child is finishing at The Old School House at the end of August and wish we had more time here. I could not recomend The OSH enough to any new parent. They truly care about each child and go above and beyond to make them feel safe, loved and special. What more could you want in a Nursery!

Simply incredible setting for our child with additional needs. Staff are truly amazing, they go the extra mile and care so much about the children. Facilities are great and the general atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Always been greeted nice when dropping my little grandson off, the nursery staff is very polite and really lovely with the children.
Entrance is well secured.
My grandson loves it in the nursery were he has some friends and that he likes the nursery staff.

Excellent nursery ! My child always has a fab time there and learns soo much. All the staff are really helpful and friendly ,from organising additional time at the reception to the key workers taking great care of the children. Can't fault them!

We have 2 children at the nursery (in different rooms) who are both very happy and thriving in the nursery's care. The staff are absolutely amazing and so caring throughout. There is always such a lovely atmosphere walking in to the nursery, with lots of happy children playing, laughing, learning and
having fun. I can't imagine sending my children anywhere else and am very grateful for their experiences at The Old School House, cannot recommend it enough!

From our first visit, we were impressed by the manager-personable, knowledgeable, sensitive, and informative-despite likely regularly showing many prospective parents around.


The nursery stood out for us for many reasons:
- spacious, light-filled rooms (indoors and out)
- happy, engaged staff

genuinely caring for the children
- organised play areas with clear systems in place
- "tidy-up time" that encourages responsibility
- age-appropriate facilities (e.g. sensory room, forest area)
- separate, quiet sleeping areas
- high staff-to-child ratio
- freshly prepared lunches with clearly listed nutritious ingredients


We weren't certain of our start date, and the manager was flexible and understanding while explaining timelines.


Before starting:
We received helpful transition materials, including a food list to test for allergies. The gradual settling-in process was well-communicated: an hour with a carer, then increasing time until well settled.


Since starting:
Our son's key workers have been amazing-kind, caring, and well-timed with room transitions. He's enjoyed sensory play and outdoor activities as he's moved through rooms.


We love the app, which provides smooth updates, developmental observations, and tips for play at home. This guidance is invaluable and clearly takes time to prepare-we're very grateful.


We've also loved receiving his painted cards, a small but meaningful gesture. The nursery supports charities through fundraising and has shown great flexibility when we needed an extra day unexpectedly.


The Old School House Nursery is truly nurturing. We were excited to increase our son's days there because he's happy, thriving, and treated as a unique little individual.

This Nursey is brilliant at accommodating the needs of your modern day working family. They are able to provide cover at short notice and are able to provide out of Nursey care too. They are brilliant at supporting the children through early life and deal with conflicts between children in a positive
and supportive way. All the staff are friendly and approachable and the children have strong bonds with all the staff in all rooms.

Old School House Day Nursery is everything we could have hoped for and more. From the very first visit, we felt an overwhelming sense of warmth, care, and professionalism. The staff are incredibly kind, nurturing, and dedicated - it's clear they genuinely love what they do.


Our children settled in

so quickly and are always excited to go in each day. They're thriving both emotionally and developmentally, and it's been amazing to see their confidence grow. The activities are so well thought-out, creative, and fun - there's always something new and engaging going on.


The communication is brilliant, and we always feel well-informed and involved in our children's experiences. The environment is clean, safe, and beautifully set up, and the team go above and beyond to make each child feel valued and cared for.


Knowing our children are so happy and well cared for gives us complete peace of mind. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful nursery. Thank you to the whole team!

Sending my two little girls to The Old School House Day Nursery has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. The staff are so incredibly kind, attentive and welcoming. The dedication to the wellbeing and development of all the children is just heartwarming to watch. The Old School House Day
Nursery create a home away from atmosphere where the children truly feel a sense of belonging. Different families become close friends during collection and drop off's and often meet outside of nursery hours for a coffee and a play date. The facilities and outdoor spaces are excellent, allowing the children ample opportunities for age appropriate play and exploration. Key workers frequently divide into smaller groups for more focused learning through play which my daughters love. Great effort is put into varying weekly meal plans and the menu always seems to go down a treat. I am very grateful to have such a safe and nurturing environment for my girls.

Both of my children have attended The Old School House Nursery and I cannot fault it. The quality of care and safekeeping throughout is impeccable; any child or baby left in their presence will be extremely well looked after. From the moment we had the walk round we knew that this is the nursery we wanted our child to attend, no others compared! We started in the baby room and watched her grow, have now moved

We moved our oldest daughter here from another nursery in the area and we were so glad that we did. The nursery has a family feel and all the staff know the children. The staff members in the office are always happy to help. Our youngest has been in the nursery since the baby room and he absolutely
loves it. Great communication and I love that you can come into the nursery to collect them and see what they have been up to.

This nursery is absolutely fantastic. I can't recommend it more. As a business owner, I had to go back to work early so my girls started nursery from 4 months. The team at Old School House treated my girls with care and attention as though they were their own. I have watched them grow up and thrive

The nursery is fantastic In every way and have been great with both of our children. They are very accommodating to each child's individual needs and build strong relationships with the children. The children are noticeably happy and well looked after in a clean and loving environment. The staff are

The old school house nursrey are fantastic. The staff are all so passionate and caring. They listen and adapt to my child's personal needs day by day. My son has been at the OSH nursery for over a year and I am incredibly grateful for the care, skills, education and experiences that he has received. The environment is safe, clean and well managed, nothing is too much trouble for the team.
My son loves the time he spends there, he is happy, whilst
developing and getting ready for school in September.

Our child absolutely loves Old School House. He's being going for 2 years now and I can't recommend them enough! Our child has turned from a very shy kid into one full of confidence, joy and becoming smarter and cleverer by the day.
The staff are second to none. Every single one of them have built
a bond with our and every other child. They give detailed feedback on our child's day, take photos on him (on the app) which allows us to see what he's up to and teach him all the necessary life skills needed.
Our child has so much fun all day that he talks about nursery every day, what he's been doing and that he can't wait to go back!
I would recommend Old School House to anyone looking for a nursery where children thrive!

Both of my children attended Old School House Day Nursery, my youngest leaving in August 2024 to bring our nursery journey to an end. She began to settle into Old School House just after Covid, she didn't take well to the transition initially, we had many settle sessions to try and make her comfortable,
which was really appreciated. I remember also informing Old School House of my daughters many allergies, which made weaning extremely difficult but it was never ever a problem and they catered to her requirements so perfectly which eased my worries. As she moved through the stages she was blessed with the most wonderful, fun and loving keyworkers. We received excellent parent feedback and left with special memories of staff and friends.
