Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe is a nursery that is committed to delivering high quality care and education for children from babies through to preschoolers.

Working hard to provide a safe and stimulating environment, Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe offers three spacious gardens that have been curated to spark children's appreciation and love for the outside world.

As part of its preschool program, the nursery presents engaging yoga sessions which provide children with a unique opportunity to participate in a physical activity that nurtures not only their bodies but also their minds.

The staff at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe are always willing to talk to me about my daughter's experiences at nursery. This really helps me to feel involved as Covid-19 has meant that I have never seen her actually inside the nursery setting. The app is updated regularly which is a source of information
and joy for me. It is clear to me that various members of staff have got to know my daughter very well and this means they are giving her great care, support and opportunities throughout the day. The menus always look top notch and I just adore the artwork that my toddler comes home with. What I really appreciate is seeing one particular member of staff greet my daughter in such a positive and genuinely warm way each morning. I can tell she really cares about her and that means so much. Thank you for all your hard work and staying open for key workers to access childcare!

My daughter has attended nursery since she was nine months old and now she is in her last few months before she starts school. When my little girl started nursery it really helped my little girl grow with confidence and all the staff provide great activities which has also helped my little girl achieve
the best. Even through coronavirus, all the staff have been great and my little girl comes out of nursery each day with a big smile on her face and is always excited to tell me what she has been up to and all her friends she has played with that day.

This is my second review as my second child now goes to this nursery. There was no doubt that my child would go to this nursery following on from her sibling. The nursery is like a a second home for my daughter. She feels safe, comfortable and cared for by the staff who treat her amazingly. The staff
have gone above and beyond during lockdown to ensure everybody stays safe and life can carry on as normal as possible for the children. We get regular updates through the parent app, including pictures. All staff are helpful and attentive.
The activities the children do are engaging and my daughter has developed so well being there. I would highly recommend this nursery after seeing how confident and well rounded my son became through going there and now how well my daughter is developing.

My son has been going to Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe since he was fifteen months old, he’s now three! He absolutely loves going, which makes life so much easier and it’s because the staff are all so kind and friendly. They keep me updated throughout the day on the app, in which they post pictures of
what my son has been up to and do a report of his learning and development. They’ve been amazing throughout this pandemic too and I’ve had no worries about taking my son there during these strange times!

We have two children in the nursery, our son is in preschool, daughter in toddlers and we are so happy and grateful for the care provided by Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe. The staff do everything they can to make each day as happy and enjoyable for all the children there and will happily cater to any
needs or requirements. When I collect them at the end of the day they are always so excited to tell me about their days and all the fun things they have done! Diets and allergies are well catered for and we feel safe knowing our children are being cared for in the best ways and by amazing people. We highly recommend Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe and everyone there!

The team at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe are absolutely amazing. They have been a key factor in helping my daughter to develop and in so many areas. We are always greeted with such happiness and warmth in the morning and with pick ups too. The team are vigilant with their care and have been incredible
during the pandemic. My daughter loves the team and I often don't get a wave goodbye as she's so excited to get through those doors in the morning haha! The parent app is updated regularly with what my daughter has done that day and I just love to see the photos of her enjoying nursery. The team also give ideas that we can do at home which has been brilliant. It's also amazing to have such a wide menu available and is always displayed outside on the day so we parents know what the children are eating that day. It feels like a little home from home and we are at ease knowing she is in such a nurturing, safe and happy environment. Thank you guys!

My daughter started at the nursery in the baby room and is now on her final adventure in the pre-school room. The staff team are so helpful and go above and beyond in everything they do. We can't thank the team at Norwich Thorpe enough for all the care they have given our little girl.

We, as a family, have been part of the Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe for the best part of seven years, and it is just the most wonderful place. Both of our children have absolutely thrived, flourished and developed well beyond what we could have hoped for. We will be forever grateful to the amazing team
for what they have done for us all. Writing this now seems completely appropriate to highly recommend this nursery, which has given our youngest child an extremely safe, secure, loving, caring, "second home" whilst we have worked as key workers. Being able to describe your child's nursery as a "second home" during such unprecedented times, when it really only feels safe at "home", makes me know we chose the right nursery for our family all those years ago.
We have never once doubted our decision and, even through these anxious times, we trust them entirely and cannot praise the team highly enough. What a wonderful place for a child to start their early year's journey!

Both are children are at this nursery and both have been supported and cared for by the staff. Our daughter who has eating issues has received care above and beyond what my wife and I wanted. The girls have looked after her, supported her and been a key reason why our daughter has started to actually
put food in her mouth. If we could afford it, we would have our children in every day. When our NHS support team for our daughter says this is one of the best and accommodating nurseries they have worked with, well I think that says it all. I would recommend this nursery for learning, eating healthy and the most important thing, both our kids come back happy.

We have been so impressed with all the staff at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe since my two children started. We had concerns about my little boys speech development and the staff have been so great at helping him, giving him extra support so that he is making great strides in catching up. The staff are
all so wonderful and we can't thank them enough for the care they give the kids. The kids love their time at nursery and have so much fun with all the activities they do. They also love playing outside in the gardens and keeping active. With Covid-19 going on, they have kept an impressive routine to keep everyone safe and still make sure the kids are as impacted as little as possible.

We couldn’t be happier with Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe. All the staff go above and beyond to make every day that our youngest has there fun and exciting. My son is now in preschool and the activities he gets to do are helping him to be ready for school this year. We have now had two children attend
Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. We will be sad to leave but the staff have become like family to us and we will keep in touch with them. So much genuine love and care, you won’t find a better nursery for the most important people in your lives.

Cannot fault this nursery at all. Amazing staff, friendly, helpful, kind and funny. Excellent child care and I love all the things my child brings home, which they have made. The parent app is great as it shows and tells you all about their day, even nappies and meals. I will not hesitate to put my
second child into this nursery. My child has learned so many things and has made friends, it’s lovely to see.

Our son has attended Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe since he was thirteen months old. He started in the baby room and has transitioned through the toddler room, two's and three's and has recently moved up into the preschool room. At all stages he has received wonderful care from the staff, who are all
so lovely and supportive. He has had an excellent relationship with each key worker and really loves going to nursery. His development has been amazing, at first it was difficult to leave him but the staff were very supportive and he had a favourite blanket and teddy with him to settle him. Within two months, he didn't need them anymore and he now runs off in the morning with hardly a backwards look at me. Every morning we read the blackboard outside with the days menu on it and the food always sounds amazing! I often wish I ate as well as he does during the day! The app is great and the staff put up pictures, every other week or so we get a more detailed report from them too. Definitely recommend them!

Since coming to nursery in July 2020 my little girls communication, interaction with other children and adults and her development has improved immensely. She loves coming to the preschool. Starting during lockdown has not made any difference to the level of care provided. The nursery has put all the
appropriate safeguards in place. At her last childminders she was ill frequently, though since being at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe shes not been ill at all, showing the level of cleanliness within the nursery. A varied menu is provided and my little girl eats everything, sometimes having two portions. The staff are always friendly and professional, telling you what your child has been doing that day. You can also track your child's development on the parent app, to see what your child is doing and how they are progressing. There is a wide range of activities and learning for the children to keep them stimulated.

My seven year old daughter started at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe at aged two and currently my three year old daughter is attending Busy Bees at Norwich since 2019. Both of my girls have been so happy and thrived at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe. The staff clearly engage well with the kids, as my girls
have spoken fondly about various members of staff over the years. The food is varied and freshly made on site which was very important to us and the kids are encouraged to spend time outdoors, whenever the weather allows. We are kept up to date with photos, observations and assessments via the app and I always have the opportunity to chat with staff. I would highly recommend Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe.

Having my baby join the nursery during a pandemic was really nerve wracking. Especially when he had grown up in a place where he hadn’t got to interact with anyone properly, prior to going here. I genuinely can’t recommend these guys enough. The staff are all truly incredible and are such a credit to
the company as a whole. You are kept so up to date using their app and if you just want to check in, there is never an issue. They have dealt with so many tasks in ensuring everyone’s health and safety. I’d like to put a special mention to the manager, as well as three members of staff and to all the staff that help take care of our little one. He thinks the world of you all, as do we!

My little girl has been at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe since she was nine months old and I had to go back to work. As a new mother, I was anxious about making the right decision of where to send her for childcare and I have to say that I one hundred percent made the right one. She is now nearly three
and still at Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe two days a week and will be, until she has to go to school. The staff are fabulous and the place is lovely, clean and welcoming. The food is first class and I know my little one has been fed and nurtured well. She can't wait for Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe.

My daughter started at this nursery when she was just around six months and it has seen her move from baby room to toddler room. I was apprehensive about sending her to nursery at such a young age and for only one day a week but the staff at this nursery have been amazing. I love hearing about all the

It is so lovely to hear that my child is learning about friendsh­ips and making friends and trying to encourag­e them to do things with him. He is slowly coming out of his shell and wanting to explore things with children his own age rather than having mummy and daddy dragging along. He is very much
a routine little boy and thrives on being in a routine (My fault, sorry!!) This report has made all the times that he has been upset when being left worth it as me and his dad are so happy that all of you at Busy Bees make the effort to make him happy and get him involved in things when he is only in your care for such a short period of time. It will be a shame to not see you all after Septembe­r but we shall always look back fondly at our time and my child's time at Busy Bees. You have all shown such care towards him when he has not been well and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

My children have been attending Busy Bees at Norwich Thorpe since May 2017 and have loved every minute of it. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. I love seeing what they have been up to on the ParentZone app and the keyworker sends pictures home as a keepsake for us. The food is varied
which I like, so my children try new flavours. The parent breakfast station goes that extra mile and shows me the staff not only care for the children but also the parents!

My name is Hollie Spence and I am the Centre Director here at Busy Bees, Norwich Thorpe.


I started my journey within Busy Bees Nurseries in January 2011 at Norwich Thorpe. Since this time, I have worked my way from Relief Practitioner to Centre Director within Busy Bees Nurseries. I completed a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood studies and have since completed my Early Years Teacher Status.


As Centre Director of Norwich Thorpe, I am committed in providing high quality childcare in a safe and stimulating environment and ensuring all children receive the best start in life. The incredible team here at Thorpe, are long standing and are truly dedicated to their roles within our centre.
