The Maltings Day Nursery

Our daughter attends full time and loves it. The activities are varied and educational and the staff provide great support to help the children in all areas of their development. The facilities are brilliant and the addition of the walking bus to take the children on trips to local areas is great.

We are absolutely delighted with the care that our daughter receives at The Maltings Day Nursery. She settled in very quickly thanks to the support of the whole staff team. We always find all of the staff to be very friendly and approachable. They have a good relationship with our daughter. She feels very safe and happy there and comes home after every session talking about her friends, singing new songs she has learned, carrying all sorts of exciting art and telling stories of her adventures around Ely in the nursery 'bus'. Thank you so much to the whole team - we couldn't be happier.

The Maltings Day Nursery is a warm, welcoming, home-like environment that is staffed by friendly, approachable and caring professionals.

Our son has attended the nursery for the past 3 years and spent time in the following rooms, under 2’s, 2-3s and preschool. He enjoys his time at the nursery and looks forward to going every week. The benefits of him attending this nursery were obvious from early on. His social skills improved leaps and bounds, he has grown in confidence and developed his learning, standing him in good stead for school in September.

As a family, we have been incredibly happy with the level of care and support shown to our child. It is wonderful to see him enjoying himself as he learns and he always has something new to share with us when he returns home. The Maltings is an outstanding nursery with lovely staff and management. The facilities are excellent and the care for our son has been fantastic from the moment he started. He clearly loves being there and has bonded with all the staff and the other children too. It has a lovely friendly and homely atmosphere. We're delighted!

The whole staff and management have always be kind and attentive to our daughter needs and always open to any kind of dialogue with us parents. We feel confident that every time we leave our daughter with them, she will be in professional, fully trustable and safe hands. We tried other childcares but this is surely the best environment ever.

My 15 month old son has been attending for nearly five months now and he has loved it from the start. Staff are very warm and caring and I feel confident that he is being well looked after. He enjoys the diversity of toys and new challenges introduced each week. His dietary requirements are also taken into account. I am always impressed by the level of organisation.

Our daughter has attended The Maltings for over a year now and we are very pleased with her care and her relationship with staff and children. A lot of attention is given each day in providing feedback on how their day was, how they slept, ate, played and learned. My daughter is very fond of all the staff, which gives us that extra reassurance that she is happy and making friends at nursery.

Both my children have attended The Maltings Day Nursery, and I have had contact with the organisation over a period of more than five years now. I and the kids have always found it to be a safe, welcoming and a happy place.

Our daughter attended from 18 months through preschool; our son joined age 3 months for 1 day/week which increased when I returned to work; he currently attends preschool 3 days a week. Both of our children benefited hugely from the nurturing provided by the nursery's dedicated, hardworking and personable staff. We have always felt very well informed of what the children have been doing; staff truly treat the children as individuals. It's a very well managed nursery; our children have always felt safe there. Our children bonded with the staff and other children very well; when my son has had ups and downs (as kids are bound to have), the staff have always been clear with him but supportive and kind. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending The Maltings to other families; I am very confident that the experiences my children have had there (and my son continues have) have helped them to feel more secure, confident, and excited about learning as well.

Our daughter has been at the Nursery for nearly 18 months and we're delighted with the care and the experience that she has received. The team are always helpful, keen to share progress and ensure that there is a learning, caring and most of all, fun environment.

My daughter loves attending the nursery, the learning creative environment that the staff have created is exceptional. When we get home we often play at pretending we are back at nursery with all her teddies, dolls and toys standing in as friends. There can be no higher praise than a child recreating nursery when she gets home. She also pretends she is one of the staff, complete with name badge (sticker) and I sit down and listen to story time or circle time.

Both my children have attended The Maltings, my eldest starting in 08/13, so I feel I’ve got to know the staff and setting very well. Staff are friendly, approachable and receptive to their needs and I’m very confident in their child care abilities. Both of my children have developed strong bonds with staff. A good range of activities are offered in each room, both in and outdoors and there is opportunity for outings to the train station, river, parks and town. Various aspects of development are recorded and documented well and there is always a detailed handover giving insight of the day at the end of each day. All in all, I can’t find any faults and I’m very happy with the care my children have received, and the confidence they have gained.

My son settled into this new setting beautifully. He is only attending one day a week at the moment but I was impressed how quickly staff got to know him and engaged with him.

Only complaint is availability of additional days, but this is due to capacity and I wouldn’t change that.

We were lucky enough to get a place at The Maltings for our son when he was two and we were new to the area. The staff here are absolutely excellent, and work long days putting in a huge amount of effort. As parents we really feel like we get personal attention at the start and end of each day, and that our son has received individual care. Activities at The Maltings are excellent, and our boy (now in preschool) is always very excited to tell us about all the things he has done (and eaten!), both indoors and out in the garden, including sharing his experiences with both the carers and other children. Feedback on each day is excellent and detailed, and the end of term reports are thorough and clearly the result of a lot of attention paid to him as he goes about his own, and guided activities. The fact that he is so happy at drop off and pick up every day is a testament to the staff. Overall we are all super happy and we couldn't recommend The Maltings in Ely enough!

Our two children attend The Maltings and we are really happy with everything we see. The staff members are caring and attentive, the food is varied and nutritious, and the activities are interesting and well thought out. Our children especially enjoy the Forest School days and baking days. A lot of time is spent outside, which I believe is crucial for good development, and the outings on the nursery's push-along bus are a favourite too. Communication is excellent: we always know what is happening the week beforehand and the monthly plans are very informative as well. The staff members are never in a hurry and are more than happy to discuss how the day went.

In short, we don't have a bad word to say about the place.
