Bright Horizons Long Road Day Nursery and Preschool

Both my children have been at the nursery for eighteen months now, and have moved rooms seamlessly. Both are thriving there and have come out of their shells. The staff are warm, engaging and caring, and my children have formed strong bonds with the staff in their rooms. The management is approachable and always willing to help. I have been very happy with the nursery and it brings me comfort knowing that my children will be cared for well, when I drop them off in the morning.

Hi! Lovely stuff and my daughter absolutely adores it, calling her key-worker “teacher” and other children “friends”. Big, lots of space and light, lots of fun activities. Also a shed for buggy, which is really comfortable if you do not want to take it with you back and forth!

I have had two children at Long Road Bright Horizons and have always been so impressed by how lovely and wonderful all staff are from the front door to drop off! My children love to go to nursery and why wouldn’t they with all the incredible activities they get up to - which are always so varied, I can see my children’s view of the world expand! Thank you for all that you do!

Both my children have been very happy and well taken care of. I was especially impressed with their support on continuing breastfeeding. The opening hours are good. They are inclusive and multicultural.

I am always amazed level of thought that goes into my child's experience at this nursery. They do creative activities promoting self-reflection, awareness of their contemporaries, as well as more traditionally educative creative play. I wish I could have had a preschool experience like this!

Both of my girls have been attending the nursery since about 11 months old and we have had a lovely experience ever since they started. Wonderful staff and an amazing setting. The children have made lovely friends and have such a lovely bond with the nursery staff. They do lots of fun activities and we receive updates throughout the day of what they are doing and how their day is going. It is also really lovely seeing the end of week photos, reading about the children’s achievements and progress that week. I feel very comfortable and reassured that my girls are looked after and loved when I drop them off in the mornings. All the staff take my girl's individual needs into account and even purchased a pink potty (as she refused to use any other colour), that was really appreciated and helped encourage her potty training journey. It’s lovely they even take little trips outside the nursery, i.e. to give donated toys to the hospital. They both love telling me about the fun they had that day.

My 3.5 years son is in preschool at Long road. He has been at Long Road since September 2021 and moved to preschool in September 2022. As I am the one dropping and picking him up every day, I am able to witness first-hand how his journey was - and he is having great fun! The manager leads a great team at preschool that blends in personal qualities, each of which comes in handy at different occasions, having all of them the common desire to contribute to our child's growth and well-being! The manager is a very creative person; he is able to inspire kids with his imaginative activities that go from artwork and learning about painters, to science and creating erupting volcanos. I am very grateful to all the team for going the extra mile. Organising activities with the kids during the weekends, where the team spend their free time doing an activity with our kids, is the ultimate proof that they are in the job because they love it, and that's key to making the growing experience of a child so fantastic! That's a five-star!

All three of our children attend or have graduated from Long Road Bright Horizons, and we couldn't be happier. We have been using the nursery for over 5 years, during which time there has been little staff turnover, and it has been wonderful to see staff progress in their careers within the nursery.

The staff are incredibly kind and loved by our children, as well as being highly professional and well trained. The learning environment is fantastic and developmentally stimulating from the baby room to preschool, leaving children extremely well-prepared for school.

Communication is excellent both between the nursery and home, and also within the nursery, with great care being taken to understand our children within the context of our family, as well as individuals, and members of the nursery community. The physical setting is bright, clean, welcoming and well-maintained. It may not be the cheapest childcare choice but it feels value for money.

I would recommend Bright Horizons Long Road Day Nursery and Preschool to anyone without hesitation. My eldest daughter started at Long Road in 2017 and now my youngest is in her last year there. Over the past 6 years, I have watched both of them go from being shy and a little bit unsure when they first started, to happy, confident girls bursting with stories of all the fun things that happened during their day. The staff are absolutely wonderful and support parents and children with all of their needs. The end of the day is always full of smiles; which is evidence of the safe, nurturing and stimulating environment provided at Long Road. My husband and I both work full time and knowing that our kids are in such brilliant hands, has been incredibly reassuring for us. Thank you to all the staff who go above and beyond for our children every day!

Both my children have attended Bright Horizons Long Road Day Nursery and Preschool since the age of 10 months. I am always impressed by the bond the staff have with the children, there is a genuine affection between them. The activities they do are varied and educational and the preschool has even arranged extra weekend trips for further learning opportunities which parents can get involved in. Staff are professional and the nursery has clear health and safety protocols which make you feel comfortable that your children are in safe hands.

My experience with Bright Horizons Long Road Day Nursery and Preschool has been nothing but excellent. My daughter just turned 4 and we have been attending the nursery since she was a little bit over 1. The quality of support is really high and goes beyond what you would normally expect. It is clean very welcoming and the food is also of a high standard. What makes this nursery stands out for me is the teacher. We feel like a family here and knowing that this is our last year is sad. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who is looking for high-quality of care, a warm and safe environment and also good education.

I cannot praise the nursery and preschool, more. It is amazing and my daughter absolutely loves it. Everyone is super friendly and very easy to talk to and the food is also fabulous. My daughter truly enjoys herself. Plenty of different activities for children even outside of working hours. You are absolutely amazing and caring!

I would recommend this nursery! Overall, a great experience and I chose it for both my children. Staff are welcoming and caring for all children and parents. My child loves to go to nursery and I feel he is in a safe place and well looked after.

The nursery has been outstanding and of good value. Our son has been attending since 12 months old and he is well looked after and happy. Communication is very good with the app and we get regular updates and pictures throughout the day. The staff are excellent and caring and are genuinely interested in the child's wellbeing. We also get regular communication from the management team, which is always very reassuring.

I cannot praise this nursery and pre-school more. Our daughter has been attending since she was 11 months (she is almost 4) and there was never a day when she didn't look forward to going to school. Everyone is so caring yet professional, facilities are amazing (indoors and outdoors) and all activities seem planned to support children's development. All this while considering everyone's individuality and diversity. Thanks to everyone at Long Road for helping our daughter become her happiest self!

My boy absolutely loves the nursery and the staff are wonderful and always helping parents and children as much as they can. The garden each room has, is also a fabulous resource for kids to learn and play.

My daughter loves the nursery and the staff have always been very helpful and prompt to reply to any queries. The offer is very good in terms of opening times, activities offered and facilities. I would not change this nursery for any other.

This is an excellent nursery. There are always different activities for the children to take part in to ensure they are stimulated throughout the day. The care given is also fantastic, our child is extremely happy when at the nursery. Parents are kept fully up to date with their child’s progress throughout the day, and when collecting. Safeguarding is also taken very seriously.
