An inspiring and nurturing nursery in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge

Situated in a client setting, Bright Horizons have collaborated with Addenbrooke’s Hospital, but welcome all families in the area to the nursery. There is plenty of space for children to learn and explore, with five bright and airy age specific rooms.
Each of the five rooms offer each age group their own specialised activities and equipment to support their learning and inspire their interests.
The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences.
A carefully planned curriculum, alongside a unique Ready for School programme, helps foster an enjoyment of early literacy and maths. Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancements, help children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment, becoming confident learners.
The nursery benefits from a large, recently refurbished garden for children to enjoy playing freely all year round. The children are encouraged to play outside and in the sand, ride their bikes, and have stories read to them in the ‘magic story area’.
There is an easy parking area with 30 minutes’ free parking in limited bays near the Frank Lee Centre. All-inclusive fees mean that you have less to pack on a busy morning, with everything from healthy lunches and snacks to branded nappies and wipes included.
The nursery was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (Feb 2020) for their commitment to high-quality childcare and education, with elements of outstanding.

All 3 of my daughters have attended bunny Brooke's nursery over several years. I have always been happy with the nursery. Staff are great. They are all very pleasant and kind to talk to, especially management staff. All rooms from baby to preschool are well equipped and always clean. The staff are
very good with distractions when the girls started at 9 months old and were upset to start with. They made it easy for me to pop over in my break times to breast feed. I will be very sad that my last daughter will graduate this year to start reception school. The nursery has been a big part of my life and I will miss coming in to drop a child off that I know will be looked after safely and have lots of fun for the day. The hrs are excellent. It really works well with my job hrs and love how they are open during school holiday weeks. I will always recommend Bunny Brooke's to anyone who needs nursery care.

We are so happy with our experience at Bunnybrookes Nursery. Our child absolutely loves attending and has built a special bond with the staff, especially her key persons, whom she talks about with so much joy at home. It's been amazing to see how much she has grown in confidence and independence since
starting.


The team were incredibly supportive and patient. Now, she looks forward to going every time and comes home excited to share everything she's done and learned.


We've noticed such a big improvement in her communication, social skills, and even her ability to follow routines and instructions. It's lovely to hear her talk about her friends, the songs she's learned, and all the fun she has during the day.


We're truly grateful for the caring and nurturing environment Bunnybrookes provides. It gives us great peace of mind knowing she is happy, safe, and learning so much while having fun. Highly recommended!

My daughter began attending nursery at 9 months after I accepted a role at a local hospital. While she did cry a few times during my initial departures, she quickly adapted and now seems to happily ignore my goodbyes. It's clear that she is really enjoying her time there! The staff are wonderful, always
greeting the children with positivity, and I have found the other parents to be just as lovely. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and love it!

My daughter started attending Bright Horizons Bunnybrookes Day Nursery and Preschool full-time since she was 11 months and stayed until she started reception. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a high retention rate comparing to a lot of other nurseries. Activities were fun and engaging, they
did a lot of messy play and arts and crafts with various themes. They spent a lot of time in the garden with seasonal activities, such as growing vegetables, using the apples they picked from the garden to make apple pies etc. In the pre-school year, she learnt how to write her name, counting and alphabet. Management team was always very responsive. They always provided updates on the app regularly with pictures which was always nice to know so I could ask her about the activities she did! The fees and fee increase over the years were also very reasonable comparing to other nurseries as well. Only thing that could be improved would be that the facility of the nursery was a bit outdated and the temperature control system wasn't very good.

The staff are helpful and patient with my child settling into nursery. The updates from the app give us parents peace of mind. He gets good manners and repeats polite phrases from Bright Horizons Bunnybrookes Day Nursery and Preschool. Every time we pick him up he is not always in a hurry to leave.

We have both our children at Bunnybrookes and have been with them for 2+ years. I couldn't speak higher of the staff. They are always so kind and helpful. Always greet my children with a smile and a hello. I am often told detailed stories from what they have been doing in the day and take home the crafts
they have been making. There is always such a wide range of educational activities to keep the children entertained such as dress up, play dough, tuff tray, messy play, painting, imaginative play, garden play and learning time.
A great variety of food on offer. They are very accommodating when we collect the children early to pack them up with a sandwich.
The older children’s room could do with a bit of a facelift as it feels a little tired and well worn. But no reflection at all on the care and love they show each child that walks in there door.
Thank you to all the staff at Bunnybrookes, you make going to work so much easier knowing they are being loved and having fun with you all!

We've been at 3 nurseries, all have been good, but this is by far the best. The staff are very caring and most have all been there for over a year, which means they build good relationships with our 2 children which means they are happy to go in every day. We haven't had any days where kids can't go
in due to short staffing issues, which can happen at other places. We are very happy and would gladly recommend.

My daughter is now coming to the end of her 3rd and final year at Bunnybrookes. She has loved it throughout. We have always found the team to be helpful and supportive, our daughter has always developed excellent relationships with her key person and talks like they are her best friends. The activities

My son loves coming to nursery every day! The staff have been amazing at settling him in and the management have been so helpful sorting everything out for us. He loves the food at Bunnybrookes and the chef is so helpful at catering for all his needs! Can’t recommend enough!

Everyone has been wonderful with our son in nursery! They have encouraged him to continue potty training (which I initiated over Xmas holidays) every day and I will forever be grateful for that. Every detail is looked into - allergies etc and I am always pleased to get reports on how much he has eaten
or slept.

I think my son enjoys going to the nursery because he doesn't cry when we leave him at the door. He also looks forward to going to the nursery. The app is regularly updated with the food they have eaten for the day, sleep times and nappy change times, which is great. The staff are great and they really
do care for the kids.
The only reason why I gave four stars instead of five is because they don't regularly post photos every day of your child. Maybe it's just me but I am feeling envious of my friends who have their kids in a different nursery and they post pictures of the kids activities every day. I just felt that it would be nice to have daily photos posted on the app.
Other than that, it's very convenient for work. And all the staff are friendly and accommodating too.

Both my boys love going to Bunnybrookes, every day. The staff are very friendly and professional. Communication is good between staff and parents. The nursery app updates regularly so we know our boys' development and progress. The location is convenient for anyone who works at the biomedical campus.

The staff are very friendly and make our child feel very welcome in the morning, so she settles in quickly. We would recommend Bunnybrookes to all parents or carers. The staff are amazing, the facilities are great and the activities and care they give to the children is so lovely. Our son has been going since he was nine months old, he settled really well and the staff went out of their way to reassure us
re his development and changes due to covid. We have a lot of confidence in the nursery and trust that the staff care and look after his needs well. The management newsletters and daily app updates and photos are great, and we really love seeing what he’s up to.

We’re so grateful to the staff at Bright Horizons Bunnybrookes for the excellent care and support they provide for our son. He settled in quickly (much more quickly than expected!), has made great friends with the other children as well as the staff and is happy to attend every day. We especially appreciate
the focus on learning and development and regular progress reports, which have provided valuable insight during this time when we cannot enter the building or interact as much with the staff day to day. A big thank you to the team!

My name is Deborah. I am the Nursery Manager of Bunnybrookes Day Nursery.


I have worked in the nursery since 2004. I completed my NVQ Level 3 and then became the room leader of our Preschool room. I then took over the role of Deputy Manager in 2013 until I became the Nursery Manager in October 2021.


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I spend most of my weekends watching them both play football and spending time with family and friends. I do enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures- and try to visit as many places as I can.
