When we moved into Hove, my daughter didn't settle in the first nursery we tried. Then I visited Butterfly with her, and from the very first moment, we could see how different the atmosphere is there. Since then, my daughter is the first one to ask when she is going to Butterfly, full of enthusiasm. Also, I could see how quickly her development was as English isn't our first language at home. I used to say that attending Butterfly Nursery was the best thing that happened to my daughter.

I cannot recommend enough! Both my children have attended this nursery from the age of 6 months and sadly the youngest is now leaving to go to school. I cannot fault the staff here, they will be sorely missed. They are so attentive and caring towards the children, who have loved going and I’ve felt so comfortable leaving them there. Communication has always been great, and they are always so accommodating with the days I’ve needed. I get frequent updates on what the children have been doing throughout the day and it’s always nice to see pictures on the app they use. Great outdoor space and lots of outdoor play! Thank you all so much.

Our daughter found Butterfly to be a wonderful experience. She made many good friends and all the staff were wonderful. They all treat the kids with such care and attention, and the affection between the staff and the children is palpable. Our daughter grew and learned hugely through the nurturing she received at Butterfly. The staff were helpful and friendly whenever we needed to speak to them or ask anything and always had our daughter's best interests at heart, working hard, even when it inconvenienced them, to ensure she got the best care and support.

I can’t recommend Butterfly Nursery enough. Due to COVID-19 our boys had to move nursery (which is always an apprehensive time). However, they settled within a week which is all down to the staff - they are warm, nurturing and welcoming - everything you’d want for your children. We have been so impressed. The boys are eager to go to nursery every day and come home with stories about their friends, teachers and all the fun they have. The boys eat well whilst they are there, with my youngest often eating two helpings. I have found the nursery great in terms of flexibility - when we needed to up our days, the manager accommodated us straight away. My eldest is due to start big school next month and I know that he’ll really miss Butterfly nursery.

Excellent nursery. Our little one has gone to Butterfly on several occasions from the age of four months onwards for drop and go sessions and we have always been very happy with the care provided. The staff are friendly and welcoming and always seem organised and efficient. Our child has always seemed happy and well-cared-for, encouraged to eat and drink well and the team are great at sticking to the baby's usual routine. He sleeps much better at nursery than at home. It has been a real life-line for us without any family living close by to help out and we would recommend it to anyone.

Both my children started going to this nursery when they were about 7 months old and now one has just started school.
The staff and facilities are excellent, friendly environment, very flexible team, I couldn't have wished for a better nursery for my kids.
My children come home talking about the staff all the time. It's amazing not having to worry about my children when they are at nursery.

I'll recommend Butterfly Nursery over and over again. A big thank you to you all for the good work you are doing.

My children have been at this nursery for about eight months and as a family, we’ve all loved Butterfly Nursery. They have nurtured and taught both my children so much. My eldest has just left to start school and she transitioned so well into school, which is mostly down to how prepared she was by everyone at Butterfly Nursery. My son, who has another year at nursery, has developed so quickly with his speech and confidence. A fantastic nursery and we are so glad we sent our kids there.

Both of my daughters attended Butterfly Nursery and loved every minute of their time there. The staff are friendly and caring. They engage the children in a variety of interesting activities and encourage messy play. Both of my children loved playing in the large outdoor space where they could help with planting, use scooters or practice their baking skills in the mud kitchen. I loved the warm family atmosphere in the nursery and felt the staff always had my children’s best interests at heart. I highly recommend this nursery.

I would highly recommend this nursery. The staff are super caring and positive. My child always goes in so happy and comes home bussing with all the things he's done that day. Management are great too, always so helpful if I have any trouble with payment and being flexible with any extra days needed.

Butterfly is a fantastic nursery. They are flexible and baby-centred. The team are always friendly and genuinely seem to care about the children they work with. They let siblings be together if needed which enables a smoother transition for all. They are responsive and flexible offering drop-in sessions for ad-hoc childcare needs. Overall they offer everything you could want or need for your child - a safe, caring and nurturing environment and later an educative fun space to prepare your child for school

Butterfly Nursery is excellent.
Staff are very friendly and supportive.
The nursery is flexible with starting and finishing times, which is a huge help when you are a working parent.
My daughter has the freedom to express herself and with the support of all the staff, she has been able to develop and grow ready for school.
She has attended Butterfly from the age of one and will miss all the friendly staff when she leaves for school in September 2019.
They also run a holiday club with lots of exciting activities which we will definitely be using throughout the half terms once she starts school, this will help to take any pressure off us as parents, as she will be able to return to Butterfly on the days we are unable to take time off from work.

I 100% recommend Butterfly nursery to any parent for their child and fully encourage them to go and have a look around the nursery to see what a wonderful setting it is.

This is a lovely nursery which both of my daughters really enjoy going to. The staff are experienced, fun and very caring. They know and care for each child as an individual. The nursery is bright and cheerful, with wonderful and frequently changing displays of lots of interesting things, including the children's creative work. When I leave my daughters at Butterfly Nursery for the day I know that they will be very well cared for and happy.

This nursery is amazing. The outside play area has alot for little minds to explore.
Learning skills, my daughter is leaving knowing how to spell her name. And write her numbers.
Also starting to look at words and trying to read them.

I recommend this nursery.

We would highly recommend this nursery. Both our children are settled there and enjoy going. The staff are friendly to both children and parents and there is always a positive and friendly atmosphere. We are always given a handover at the end of each day and the online tapestry is an excellent way of getting regular updates on what they are up to, and what new things they are learning.

I’ve been working within our nurseries since 1993, and I am the Head of Trust Nurseries across all three of our wonderful SCFT sites.

My early years journey began with an NNEB qualification in 1986, and more recently, I completed my PTLLS training in 2019. I absolutely loved this course; it gave me a massive passion for mentoring and supporting the brilliant apprentices across our teams, helping them grow into confident early years professionals.

My journey with our nurseries began back in 1992, with a brief intermission to achieve my BA (Hons) in Sociology and Social Policy and build on my experience in community safeguarding.

Today, I am proud to be the Safeguarding and Prevent Lead for all of our nursery settings. With my background in social policy, a NAMCW qualification, and PTLLS training, I also have the wonderful opportunity to heavily oversee and support the education of all our apprentices.

I am the Trust Nurseries Operational Lead for the three SCFT Nurseries.

I have worked within the nursery since 2005, when it opened.

I have a CACHE Level 3 Childcare (Certificate in Childcare and Education), which I gained in 2003.

I really enjoy creating exciting, messy play activities for the children to enjoy.

I am a Makaton instructor, and Makaton is a foundation tool that is used daily within the nursery. I am also currently working towards my Level 5 childcare qualification, as I am dedicated to bringing the highest standards of professional knowledge and practice to our nursery every day

I’ve been a part of the nursery team since 2010. I completed my Level 3 Childcare Diploma while working at Butterfly Nursery and absolutely love what I do.

For me, the most rewarding part of the early years is developing that special bond with the children, helping them grow in confidence before they take their big step into school. I am also a Makaton instructor and make sure it's used every day as a foundational tool to support communication across the nursery, and I am working towards my Level 5 childcare qualification.

I joined the nursery team in 2016, right after completing my CACHE Level 3 Childcare certificate at Varndean College.

These days, you'll find me in our fantastic 2-year-old room. We have created a safe, vibrant environment tailored just for this active age group, allowing them to learn and develop at their own pace. Because we know starting nursery is a major milestone, we love working with families to mirror home routines, ensuring a smooth, comforting, and happy transition.

I love continuing to learn, and I'm currently studying hard towards my Level 5 childcare qualification!

I have been part of the nursery team since 2017 and hold a CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.

I am based in our baby room, where I love sharing amazing experiences with our youngest learners. We spend a great deal of time in our large garden, and it is wonderful to watch the children discover the magic of the changing seasons as they explore how our outdoor space grows and evolves throughout the year.
