Ofsted rating for Co-op's Tadworth Nursery is Good (October 2021)

Co-op Childcare Tadworth is set in a beautiful location in The Children's Trust mansion grounds with easy access to nature trails, a wilderness walk and large lawn areas, This unique spot also lets their children interact with children with disabilities and additional needs regularly, teaching them understanding and acceptance at an early age.

They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with their children such as encouraging them to express their feelings to making a difference in the world. They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

Their app for parents, Famly, keeps them updated on life at nursery with things like photos from their day, meals eaten, assessments and even toilet training progress! The nursery is silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are big on happy children and have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local area and take care of each other and the world.

There are 3 home rooms within the nursery split into the following age groups: 3 months – 2 year olds (including a sleep room and creative studio), 2-3 year olds and 3-5 year olds.

There are two secure, enclosed, landscaped garden areas which are tastefully sectioned off to provide safe play areas even if all age groups are out at the same time and include covered areas to enable children to have access to the outdoors in all weather conditions.

The nursery itself is brilliant as are the staff. They were so fabulous with my older daughter making the decision to send my youngest was a no brainier! There is plenty of variety of activities for the children to do through the day along with a large amount of props and aids specific to each age group.
The children (pre-school) have recently started to bring homework home in preparation for school which is just amazing each child also has a key worker who is responsible for said child, it's lovely that the children have a go-to adult who is able to effectively report back on the day.
The children have 3 healthy meals a day plus snacks which are all made on site.
I could not fault this nursery in any way. Absolutely perfect.

My son attends the Co-operative Childcare three days a week and it is a pleasure to drop him off each morning. All the staff make us feel welcome and show great interest towards my son asking how is has been, how he slept etc. My son is always extremely happy at nursery and loves all the fun and exciting
things that they do, something new every day!

Nice, friendly staff at the nursery. Very convenient as I am able to drop my son in earlier on some days which is very helpful. Good handover on what my child has done through the day but would prefer electronic rather than paper copy especially. Staff are very good at informing if my child has had
an accident.

My daughter has been at the nursery for two months now and has progressed so much in that short amount of time in terms of her independence and confidence. She found the initial joining phase hard but the team persevered and worked on settling her in to get her to a point where she now has the best
time at nursery and takes part in things that she wouldn't get to do anywhere else.

The nursery is situated on secured grounds with a beautiful surrounding. The staff are very friendly and very attentive. They prepare all their meals on site and are all healthy snacks and meals which is very assuring to me as a mother as my son is very fussy eater, but eats very well at nursery. They
also provide nappies which is a big bonus. My son has been attending this nursery since he was 13 months and my son has grown into a little man that is ready for his next chapter soon as preschool is preparing him very well.

On the first day that I left my one-year-old son at nursery, I felt absolutely terrible, but within a couple of weeks it had become one of his favourite places. When our daughter arrived and I was on maternity leave again, it was so important to me to keep him in as much as possible as it has become
one of the cornerstones of his life - a situation I had never imagined. Our son has built up strong relationships with the staff, who obviously care about the children very much. He also really enjoys the activities they do, I think the day the fire engine visited was one of his best days ever! When he was showing signs of behavioural difficulties, the team couldn't have been more helpful in terms of coming up with strategies for dealing with them and helping us through a difficult time.

Now I just hope that my daughter loves it as much.

The Cooperative Tadworth Nursery is the most nurturing and caring place. The staff are fantastically supportive and I have always felt 100% confident in leaving both my son and now my daughter with the wonderful team.
I have recommended the nursery to friends who live nearby and other colleagues
here at The Children's Trust when they have discovered they are expecting.
I couldn't possibly recommend them more highly - you are always kept fully informed of how your child is progressing and updated daily on their activities.
They are thorough in their record keeping and are on hand for any concerns whether they be medical, emotional or behavioural.
Thank you so much for always looking after my babies so brilliantly.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.455)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.455) out of 10 for Co-op Childcare Tadworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.673 for Co-op Childcare Tadworth is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.673
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.782 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Co-op Childcare Tadworth is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 number of registered child places is 10.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.882
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
