Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is ideally located next to the railway station and it has four spacious rooms each with direct access to the outside, allowing children the choice to move freely between inside and out whenever they choose.

They are big on happy children and they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to care homes and a focus on taking care of each other and the world. The nursery are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

The nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children, encouraging them to be independent, make their own choices, express their feelings and make a difference in the world.

Their Famly app keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery and includes photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress.

Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station love learning to cook as their onsite chef assists their nursery practitioners with interactive, fun-filled (and safe!) cooking activities whilst teaching children the importance of eating healthy too.

My child loves to go to nursery and this is because the carers are extremely good in taking care of the children. That means the carers are really caring, do fun and varied activities with the kids and pay special attention to what the children need.
I would definitely recommend this nursery if, you
can live with the limited outside space the nursery can offer (only downside, but not much they can do).

My son has attended The Co-operative Nursery near the station since he was 18 months old. He has enjoyed every day and been cared for by some wonderful people. They greet him warmly every morning and send him off cheerfully when I collect him.
I am always very happy with the care they give him and
will always recommend it to other parents when they ask.

The staff at the nursery are extremely welcoming and proactive. Although our son did not always want to join in on group activities, they thought about the best ways in which he could develop and progress. The nursery can be quite busy, but the staff adopt a personal approach to each child. The food
is great and when our son comes home in the evening he is always happy and satisfied!

We love all the staff here at the nursery. They have been extremely kind and helpful towards the care of my child. We've been sending our child since he was two to mingle and play with the local children. He's really enjoying his time at the nursery.

Our child has thrived in the nursery and absolutely loves it there! He is very attached to the teachers, who are kind and warm, and the mix of outside play space with indoor toys and activities keeps him happy and busy.

Decent nursery, not too much to comment on except the food. I have to say the quality of the food provided is fantastic. Some carers are above standard while others are not. I only recommend this nursery to whom live nearby, otherwise you should have a better choice.

Both our boys love nursery. In all the rooms they are well known and cared for. The food is brilliant. Some staff are exceptionally committed and caring. Others are less experienced but still put the effort in. There are good systems in place to support staff.

I have used this nursery for a number of years. Both my children have been very happy here. The staff are friendly and helpful to the parents and genuinely love the children. They actively engage with the children as they play and support their development.
Often the staff have a little anecdote about
something my child did during the day which I really appreciate. The move to recruit more men to the nursery has really worked and is very positive for my son.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.808 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 224 Ratings = 4.808
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hi, I’m Zoe, the Nursery Manager, and I’m proud to say I’ve been part of this wonderful nursery family for 15 years. Over that time, Oxford Station has truly become my second home. I’ve had the privilege of watching so many children grow, learn and flourish, and nothing makes me happier than seeing their confidence shine each day. I’m passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to explore the world around them. Our nursery is full of laughter, curiosity and care, and I’m incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated and nurturing team. We can’t wait to welcome you and your little one into our nursery family!

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2014

I have been part of the nursery team since 2014, starting my journey as a Level 2 practitioner straight from college. While working, I went on to complete my Level 3 qualification, further developing my knowledge and passion for early years education.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in every room across the nursery, gaining valuable experience with children of all ages and stages of development. I have progressed from Room Manager to Deputy Manager, a role I am incredibly proud to hold.

Since joining, I have worked closely alongside Zoe, and together we have grown within the nursery, supporting one another as we have both worked our way up. I feel very fortunate to be part of such a dedicated team and to continue supporting the children and families within our nursery community.
