Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is ideally located next to the railway station and it has four spacious rooms each with direct access to the outside, allowing children the choice to move freely between inside and out whenever they choose.

They are big on happy children and they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to care homes and a focus on taking care of each other and the world. The nursery are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

The nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children, encouraging them to be independent, make their own choices, express their feelings and make a difference in the world.

Their Famly app keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery and includes photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress.

Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station love learning to cook as their onsite chef assists their nursery practitioners with interactive, fun-filled (and safe!) cooking activities whilst teaching children the importance of eating healthy too.

Zoe, Katie and their team are brilliant ! They listen to us and take our feedback into account always. We feel very trusting of the team at the nursery, we know our kids are being cared for properly and safely.
We have a really good relationship with all the staff and our son really enjoys spending
time at the coop.

Our second child has recently started at Little Pioneers, Oxford station. Very happy with the care she is getting and level of service.
Most important thing for us is how much the staff care and do their best to look after the children. Drop offs and pickups are very easy, always best to time it
immediately after a mealtime as the kids eat very well.
Communications are very good. Plenty of updates, news and the nursery is extremely easy to get hold off with a fully manned office. Similarly sorting admin like car permits and free childcare hours has been very easy.

Wonderful nursery with such a caring staff. This is our second child to attend the nursery and we were delighted to choose them again.
Stimulating days for our child, well cared for and genuinely wonderful staff members.
Our child is happy to be dropped off and not really bothered about leaving
in the afternoon!

Our son has been attending this nursery for the past two years, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. He genuinely enjoys going each day, which speaks volumes about the caring and welcoming environment the team creates.
The activities are always varied, engaging, and clearly very well thought
out. It's lovely to see how much effort goes into planning experiences that support both learning and creativity. He's developed so many new skills and his confidence has grown tremendously during his time there.
The staff are consistently friendly, kind, and approachable. They clearly care about the children and build strong, positive relationships with them. Our son has made some wonderful friends, and it's been a joy to watch those friendships grow.
We're so grateful for the nurturing start they've given him and would highly recommend this nursery to other parents.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. From day one, the team has created such a warm, caring and supportive environment. The staff are kind, attentive and genuinely invested in the children's development and wellbeing. It's clear they really know each child as an individual.
The setting itself
is welcoming and well organised, with a great balance of structured learning and creative play. We've seen such positive growth in confidence, communication and independence, and that's down to the thoughtful approach of the team.
Communication with parents is excellent, and we always feel informed and included. It's reassuring to know our child is not only safe, but thriving and happy every day.
We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this nursery community and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any family.

All staff and management are really approachable and helpful when I have any queries. They take a keen interest in her development and needs. My daughter has really come on in the last month and I can notice the confidence she has gained with walking and being more independent with feeding etc due to
the efforts staff have put in.

We are delighted with our experience at this nursery - our toddler has been attending since he was 9 months old and has formed a really lovely bond with his key person and all the other staff members in his room. It's really clear that the staff care for the children and their development. There are
always new and exciting activities set up in the toddler room each day, and it's great that they offer lots of creative and messy play that we do not do at home. The management team are also excellent and we get regular updates from them. Comms from the team in the toddler room are very clear at handover and on the app. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who wants to ensure a safe, happy place for their little one.

Staff are extremely kind, professional and responsive. They have made effort to connect and help my child develop in a positive and fun environment. Transitions between rooms have been smooth, so has been potty training, eating and creating hygiene habits. I would recommend this setting.

My son has been coming here since September 2024, they were kind in offering him a space when I got a new job and my work schedule changed. As a new Mom then who had spent a lot time caring for him with my husband it was really reassuring to see how the staff welcomed and took care of him. He settled
in well quickly and made lots of new friends. The staff are always kind and cheerful, they pay attention to his needs and are always ready take any input from us. They also have lots of toys and lovely garden where the kids play and I love that they take them outside regularly. Great for their learning and development!

We are truly happy with the Oxford Station nursery. Our son has been going there for almost a year and we couldn't be more satisfied with the setting! He is very happy to enter the room in the morning and very happy when we pick him up in the afternoon. All the staff are doing such a great job and they
engage the children in all sorts of artistic and developmental activities. Our son has learnt so much at nursery, including so many new words! He loves the food and the garden. Extra points for the nursery always being super clean, keep up the good job!

We love Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station. It has a real family atmosphere and you can tell how much the staff care about all the little ones that go there. There's a real effort to make sure there is a good range of activities, food choices, a mixture of play and relaxing/snuggly
time. We appreciate the regular updates over the app and debriefs at pick-up. One thing that would be helpful is to improve communication on the Cooperative policy around sickness (e.g. when are children sent home because of fever etc) as this sometimes changes without us realising.

A wonderful nursery in a perfect location. The staff know and understand my daughter well and tend to her needs. Her special dietary requirements are met without hesitation. Her key person communicates well with us, and I feel a strong rapport with her, enabling our daughter to be ready and prepared

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.808 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 224 Ratings = 4.808
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have been part of the nursery team since 2014, starting my journey as a Level 2 practitioner straight from college. While working, I went on to complete my Level 3 qualification, further developing my knowledge and passion for early years education.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in every room across the nursery, gaining valuable experience with children of all ages and stages of development. I have progressed from Room Manager to Deputy Manager, a role I am incredibly proud to hold.

Since joining, I have worked closely alongside Zoe, and together we have grown within the nursery, supporting one another as we have both worked our way up. I feel very fortunate to be part of such a dedicated team and to continue supporting the children and families within our nursery community.
