Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is ideally located next to the railway station and it has four spacious rooms each with direct access to the outside, allowing children the choice to move freely between inside and out whenever they choose.

They are big on happy children and they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to care homes and a focus on taking care of each other and the world. The nursery are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

The nursery team are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They use their 5 Little Pioneers to help share their core values with children, encouraging them to be independent, make their own choices, express their feelings and make a difference in the world.

Their Famly app keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery and includes photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress.

Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station love learning to cook as their onsite chef assists their nursery practitioners with interactive, fun-filled (and safe!) cooking activities whilst teaching children the importance of eating healthy too.

Fantastic staff: helpful, supportive, honest and compassionate. My child is very well looked after here - and well supported in learning and development. Food and facilities are great - and daily feedback is helpful and honest.

I'm very happy for all the care given to my son by his key worker and others. The chef goes above and beyond to give food that he's tried at home already and the room is full of great resources to match all the age ranges. The room is very spacious and he is learning so much here, more than you could
ask for.

Our son loves attending the nursery and all the staff we have met over the last six months of using the nursery have been lovely.
The regular updates via the app are great and you can really see everyone cares.
Great nursery - well done to all.

My partner and I have felt lucky to have chosen the Co-op Childcare Oxford Station Day Nursery for our daughter. She is three and has been at the nursery since she was 9 months old. In each of the rooms she's stayed in she has thrived with excellent care and attention. The workers at the nursery (especially
the nursery practitioners) have nurtured our daughter's creativity in ways we couldn't do alone at home.
We appreciate the eco-friendly nature of the children's activities showing children that household items can be reused over and over again. We've found the recycling our daughter has done at nursery has encouraged her to reuse items at home. Beyond this, our daughter has thrived through careful attention to her development, with staff engaging her in activities with older children when she has shown interest.
We would highly recommend this family-friendly nursery where all the staff genuinely care for babies and toddlers, and it shows in all that they do.

The care we experienced for our daughter at the Co-op Childcare Oxford Station Day Nursery has been unparalleled. Her keyworkers have shown so much care and attention toward her development, that has really been a big part of her blossoming into a spunky, kind, independent little toddler. From the managers
to every member of staff, a real effort is made to interact with us as parents (be it virtually or at drop off) - this has enabled them to pay attention to our needs as a family. I have recommended this nursery to all my friends in the area.

Co-op Childcare Oxford Station staff have been incredible at caring for my three year old daughter since she was nine months old. They are creative in their activities and responsive to the needs of children. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a kind and thoughtful team to look after
their child.

He has been very happy on his five days a week, made excellent friends and adores the staff and the activities undertaken. I couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough, a really wonderful setting.

My son loves Co-op Childcare Oxford Station and we are extremely happy he is there. My son is very strong willed but the nursery staff have worked with him and us and we know he is safe and cared for while there. He regularly comes home excited about something he has done and the staff have made a real
effort to connect with him and be interested in what he loves, in his case, dinosaurs. The time he gets outdoors is excellent and he often comes home covered in sand and very happy about it. I would highly recommend this place.

The Oxford Station nursery has a very friendly and well-trained staff. My twins enjoy every day there. The gardens are big and nice and the location really good, with the river next to the nursery full of ducks that the kids love.

Fantastic nursery with very enthusiastic staff who've been doing a great job during the pandemic. Our son started at 6 months and he really loves going to nursery every day. The kids spend a lot of time outside in the fresh air. The staff know my son very well, I haven't come across anyone who doesn't
know who he is, even if they are not in his care bubble. Very happy and we'd highly recommend this nursery.

What a brilliant bunch of people. I have two kids at Co-op Childcare Oxford Station nursery and my eldest has been attending pretty much full time for over three years. We couldn't be happier with both the staff and the way the nursery is run. Both our kids have grown hugely fond of their key workers
as they have progressed through the age grouped rooms. They eat really well there, play a lot, learn a lot, and the other kids seem nothing but fantastic. They have also all handled Covid very well, with no difference in terms of the care and warmth from the staff to our kids. All credit to the team.

Both my son and daughter have been attending the nursery and we have always been really happy with the care they receive.
Our daughter has learnt so much and is so excited about starting school as nursery has prepared her with brilliant activities to enhance her learning.
The bond both children share
with all the staff, especially their key workers is fantastic and whilst unable to attend at points during the pandemic they have constantly asked when they can see them again!
I would not hesitate to recommend the Co-op Childcare Oxford Station nursery.

My daughter has attended this nursery since summer 2020 and has loved it. I have always been so impressed by the professionalism, kindness and energy of the staff. The facilities are excellent and the food is very healthy. They have homemade meals cooked by a chef on site. My daughter has learnt a lot
from attending and is always involved in very creative activities. The staff upload photos and comments onto the nursery app regularly, so you can see what your child is doing. They have dealt with the pandemic admirably and I have never doubted the safety of the nursery.

Very professional, good communications, processes and approach to childcare. Most importantly the children seem genuinely happy and there is a good atmosphere. I received a lovely Christmas card from my daughter made at the nursery and it made my day. I've seen a lot of different nurseries and this
one is excellent especially in comparison to some of the more expensive ones.

I knew as soon as I walked in the door for a visit that I’d found the right place for our son. And so it has proven to be. He is happy, so comfortable with the staff who have his needs at heart and I see development every single week. He mainly comes home mucky so the sign of lots of good activity!
Really a lovely nursery. I wish it was closer to home!

Staff seem to enjoy their jobs and really connect with the children who love them back.

Food seems good (all meals are published and cooked from scratch

Always seems to be a good range of activities. Lately, the staff turnover has been high which worries me a little although my child still has

his main key worker so we're less affected.

I have a few moans;
1) I wish they used bibs on the kids as all the clothes get really trashed
2) Don't like the white bread they sometimes use
3) The invoices are horrible and confusing. When I was making a lot of changes it was hard to make sense of them
4) You can email or notify staff of holidays or make additional bookings but it always seems to get lost in translation! The app has improved this.
None of these moans are that important though

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.783)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.783) out of 10 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.808 for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 224 Ratings = 4.808
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Oxford Station is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2014

I have been part of the nursery team since 2014, starting my journey as a Level 2 practitioner straight from college. While working, I went on to complete my Level 3 qualification, further developing my knowledge and passion for early years education.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in every room across the nursery, gaining valuable experience with children of all ages and stages of development. I have progressed from Room Manager to Deputy Manager, a role I am incredibly proud to hold.

Since joining, I have worked closely alongside Zoe, and together we have grown within the nursery, supporting one another as we have both worked our way up. I feel very fortunate to be part of such a dedicated team and to continue supporting the children and families within our nursery community.
