Since joining Child First Nursery, my daughter has developed in so many ways. She is growing into a strong and independent, free thinking child and has been able to build stronger relationships around her.
My daughter has had a very happy and positive experience and staff are very loving and caring.
The
nursery itself is a very bright and fun environment and the staff are supportive not only of your child but also to yourselves as parents.
Overall, we absolutely love Child First Nursery. Thank you.

My daughter attends nursery 5 days a week and is extremely settled into the Sweetpeas room. I pick up regularly and love to see her playing confidently with the other children. She is becoming an independent little girl and we put this down to the amazingly attentive staff who are happy to follow
any requests that we have as parents and provide our daughter with a rich and stimulating environment in which to grow and develop. I would happily recommend them to any other parent.

I could not ask for a better nursery for my son to attend. He started at 3 months old and has grown into a beautiful clever boy with the help of Child First. The keyworker my son has is excellent! They have a great bond which makes me feel happy. The meals/snacks are great too. They interact with the
kids so well, always picking him up and bringing home things he has done/made. Would recommend this nursery to every parent especially nervous ones! BEST EVER!

My youngest daughter attends Child first and she loves it here. All the staff are friendly and welcoming when she comes in. My eldest daughter came to the nursery too from when she was one until she left to go to school and she thoroughly enjoyed herself there.
I couldn't recommend the nursery highly
enough.
Even now my eldest daughter loves to come in and see everyone and they all remember her and give cuddles!

This is the first nursery for my son, he started about 4 months ago. I was worrying about his settlement period but it was ok. The staff are great, my son likes his key person very much, she encourages him to participate in messy activities and play with other children from his first day and still helps
him to learn new things. Outside space is quite small. There were cases of chicken pox and a stomach bug at nursery but it is kind of unavoidable thing in any nursery I guess.

As a first time mum the thought of having to send my daughter to nursery was very scary. Child First Banbury was recommended to me by people I work with. After my visit to the nursery I was put at ease and knew my daughter would get excellent care. After just 3 short months she has settled well and
loves attending. Her key worker is amazing, she's so caring and makes a real effort with me and my husband. My daughter has built a good relationship with her too. This was initial for me, and knowing she has such an amazing team around her. Would put any parent at ease. I'm very happy as a parent and mu daughter is thriving.

Childfirst is an outstanding nursery/preschool which offers children an abundance of activity and opportunity. The activities are well thought out, child-led and make the very most of the fantastic resources. The staff are excellent - skilled childcare practitioners who all obviously love their jobs!
The food is fantastic - varied, healthy and exciting, the children are encouraged to try lots of different tastes and textures.
Negatives. I suppose the fantastic buildings do lack comparable outdoor space - there are several great outside play spaces, but no big green area to run around in. That said, they make the most of nearby parks and often take the children out to these. Childfirst is definitely at the high price point of local childcare options, but you get exactly what you pay for, which in this case is great facilities, brilliant staff, fun, adventure and peace of mind knowing your child is having a wonderful nursery experience. Worth every penny.

I would highly recommend Child First Nursery. My daughter is very happy in here. The staff are wonderful, well qualified, caring and attentive and she has the best support ever. The nursery provides wide variety of healthy, home made food. Plenty of activities during the day such as cooking, dancing,
walks to the local library, museum and park. The outside space is well done. Great ideas of theme days, all staff dress up and children have lots of fun. Also the nursery has some really interesting pets. Staff always smiling, polite and ready to answer all your questions! The resources are great and the staff are fantastic. Highly recommended!

Child First nursery is excellent. The staff there are all incredibly friendly and passionate, never to busy in the day to give detailed feedback about your child's day. The food provided at the Nursery is amazingly varied and it always impresses me how many different meals they serve, which are healthy
AND tasty. There is no limit to the amount the children do in their days here, from story time and games, to walks to the park (and even going to make Pizzas at local restaurants!). The nursery also keeps animals, which the children love and know by name!

Since moving over to Child First, my son has come along leaps and bounds. The staff here have helped and encouraged him with everything; including learning to use the toilet, learning letters and numbers (spelling his name!) and learning to take part in group activities.

I couldn't be happier with Child First!

Childfirst has been a part of my daughter's life since she started in the baby room just before her first birthday. She has recently left the nursery to start school and it was a very emotional day for us both.
I cannot rate Childfirst and the staff highly enough. She loved going there and doing all
the different activities that were available every day, she loved the walks to the parks and formed strong bonds to her keyworkers and all of the other staff.
The home cooked food was always a big hit and the variation of food available each day was always to a high standard.
My daughter's safety and welfare were a top priority and her developmental needs were catered for.
She is now a confident, happy and loving girl and Childfirst have had a very big part to play in that.
I would definitely recommend Childfirst to any parent who is looking for a homely nursery environment for their child.

What a fantastic nursery.

Child First Banbury feels like a big family. The staff are friendly and helpful, and really can't do enough to make sure that both children and parents have a really positive experience. My 3 year old son has been going to Child First for 2.5 years and loves it. The

name says it all really, the child is always put first - they get to choose what they want to do; activities are child-led. And they make great use of an old and interesting building.

They get served great food, they get to help prepare it, serve themselves and help tidy it away too. There's always a great range of things to do and play with, they sing songs, they go on outings, they bake, they play outside, they look after nursery pets, play with their friends and have a blast.

I would not hesitate to recommend Child First Banbury.

My son started at the nursery in September 2014 and he has settled in so well. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly, and its lovely that everyone in the nursery has time for him. My son loves his nursery days and is excited to see his key worker. It is lovely to hear that he goes on many walks
around Banbury and to the park and canal. The continental breakfast is amazing and with the lovely food the chefs make I know my son has an enjoyable meal. It is so lovely to see how much my little boy has grown and developed at child first.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.532) out of 10 for Child First Banbury Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.532 for Child First Banbury Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (270 Excellents x 5) + (152 Goods x 4) + (28 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 451 Ratings = 4.532
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Child First Banbury Nursery is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
