The Old Station Nursery Faringdon is an exceptional nursery located in a listed, converted railway station. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

As the first nursery in The Old Station Nursery Group, the setting has become a flagship for excellent childcare in Faringdon since opening in 2002. It’s renowned for high-quality care, reflected in the qualified, passionate, and child-centred team, and is also proud to hold the Millie's Mark award, received for commitment to paediatric first aid.

The nursery has three dedicated rooms, each helping children grow into confident and unique individuals. Under 2’s begin their journey in the comfortable baby room, where they can explore and learn with a range of age-appropriate resources, including mirrors, musical instruments, and toys. As they gain confidence, they transition to one of the 2-3-year-old rooms, where they can continue to learn through heuristic play and natural resources. When children turn 3, they transition to the Pre-School room, where structured sessions prepare them for school transition.

The outdoor environment is an essential aspect of the nursery, with frequent trips to parks, libraries, and other local attractions. The nursery also has plenty of garden space, where children can run around and play together.

To enhance children's natural curiosity and promote key skills, knowledge, and attitudes, the nursery offers a 'Brighter Learning Approach.' This approach intertwines with the core curriculum provision, offering real opportunities for children's learning and development.

Perfect communication. Modern and airy atmosphere. Everything is well organized and the staff are very helpful. On-site parking. The parents' app used to follow the course of the day is very complete and we can find out about our baby at any time. We are very pleased. Amazing place.

Very friendly staff and excellent facilities for our daughter compared to other nurseries around the area of Faringdon. Safe area for the babies and detailed reports via the app for each day, including nappies, food and day-to-day activities.

We have just been to the Jubilee Party at the Nursery with our 3 year old daughter. The staff there had made such a wonderful effort to make the party special for the children. It was a lovely afternoon and, as usual, the staff were there to support and care for us all. A big thank you to all involved.

Absolutely wonderful staff and nursery. I have an 11-month-old here and I get daily in-depth reports of everything. Feeding reports, nappy change reports etc. Highly recommend this nursery. Best I've ever used.

Great nursery! The kids have a full-on day with activities that keep them busy and entertained! We absolutely love that you are celebrating all the holidays and providing a great learning experience for the kids. If I can add one thing that could use a change would be to extend breakfast till 8:45 or
9am (instead of till 8:30am). This will definitely help us with the morning juggling routine. Thank you!

The Old Station Nursery, Faringdon is a second home for my little princess. The staff in the eyes of my child are her best friends. They will be very missed when she leaves to attend school. They do need to work on the food they feed the children and make it more filling and creative. I would recommend
this nursery.

My daughter is always happy going to school. All the teachers, including the headmistress, are kind and approachable. They are patient, caring and ready to listen to your concerns no matter what. I would recommend the school to friends and family.

A lovely nursery with an amazing team! Helped our daughter to settle in very well. Giving always a lot of feedback at the end of the day and focused on milestones and development. We can see how much our girl has learned and how much confidence she has. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Old Station Nursery is fantastic, they take such great care of our son. The staff are brilliant with the children and always put the children's needs first. It’s a home from home environment, our son loves going to nursery and always has a great time there.

Extremely friendly staff who cannot do more to help us. My daughter is disabled and she isn’t excluded. She is well looked after by all staff there. There are different activities each day and lots of encouragement for her to join in and play with others.

I sent my older son to The Old Station Faringdon so sending my second son there was a bit of a no brainer for us. We checked out some others in the area previously and found ourselves saying ‘the Old Station is better’! The staff there are just so kind and helpful and supportive. I feel like ‘they’re
like a family’ is such a cliche, but it really is true there. The ladies in the baby room really, honestly care about my little boy - and about me too! We’re always asking about each other’s lives and giving advice on things. They’re responsive to emails and calls and the food they provide always sounds so delicious. If anyone is looking for a nursery in the area I truly cannot recommend them enough; to me they are the obvious choice.

We have always had such an amazing experience at this nursery. My son has been going here since he was 10 months old and has only had tears once or twice going in, which means you must be doing something right! It’s great to see him enjoy being there and always having updates about his day as well as
photos sent to us to see what he’s learned. He especially enjoyed his time in the baby room and always went in and came out with a smile on his face! Thank you for helping my son to learn and evolve and become a sociable child!

My daughter has excelled since attending nursery 3 days a week. Her speech, her confidence and general milestones are all being met. The staff are kind loving and considerate to each child. The feedback from staff at the end of the session is so good - to know how my daughter has been that day.

My child found it difficult moving from his previous nursery to the Old Station like any child would, but the staff eased the transition and create a welcome and inviting atmosphere. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and personable and put the minds of parents at ease. The range of activities
the nursery provides is vast and the development leaps seen from my child, in the short time he’s been there, unbelievable. The fact that my child says and signs please is very impressive. Thank you.

My daughter has been attending The Old Station Nursery since she was 6 months old and is currently in the preschool room which she loves. Being a lockdown baby and not having the chance to interact with many other people and children, we were initially really anxious about our son starting at nursery. The Old Station Nursery, Faringdon is fantastic! They have helped him (and us!) to settle in really well and we’ve been really impressed.
We really like that the activities are varied and seasonal, the staff give the children a cuddle and key workers really get to know their children.

Hello, I'm Steph and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Faringdon. My qualifications include a BA Hons, Early Childhood Development.


Faringdon was our first nursery and has seen many children develop and grow over the years. We offer great care and education and many local schools comment on being able to tell a Reception-aged child who has come from The Old Station Nursery.
