The Old Station Nursery Faringdon is an exceptional nursery located in a listed, converted railway station. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

As the first nursery in The Old Station Nursery Group, the setting has become a flagship for excellent childcare in Faringdon since opening in 2002. It’s renowned for high-quality care, reflected in the qualified, passionate, and child-centred team, and is also proud to hold the Millie's Mark award, received for commitment to paediatric first aid.

The nursery has three dedicated rooms, each helping children grow into confident and unique individuals. Under 2’s begin their journey in the comfortable baby room, where they can explore and learn with a range of age-appropriate resources, including mirrors, musical instruments, and toys. As they gain confidence, they transition to one of the 2-3-year-old rooms, where they can continue to learn through heuristic play and natural resources. When children turn 3, they transition to the Pre-School room, where structured sessions prepare them for school transition.

The outdoor environment is an essential aspect of the nursery, with frequent trips to parks, libraries, and other local attractions. The nursery also has plenty of garden space, where children can run around and play together.

To enhance children's natural curiosity and promote key skills, knowledge, and attitudes, the nursery offers a 'Brighter Learning Approach.' This approach intertwines with the core curriculum provision, offering real opportunities for children's learning and development.

The staff are exceptional, they all know my sons name and say hello and goodbye which my son loves. They all really care and are friendly. Always setting up activities that are fun and developmental. They use the tapestry app to update me with photos and videos of my sons day - I love it.
My son always
has so much fun. They have helped with his eating and social play. Lovely outside area and they take them out on trips, good food too. They listen to specific requests for my son and try hard to personalise his play to all his likes and dislikes. Simply AMAZING!

A year ago my little boy left Old Station Nursery. He had been there since he was a baby and left to start school after many happy years at Nursery. The care he received at Nursery was outstanding - and the bond he formed with his key worker was lovely, although he was close to all the staff who looked
after him. The nurturing he received throughout his time at Nursery meant that when he started school he was totally prepared. As well as his learning skills being advanced by the teaching at Nursery, his social skills also became apparent when he started school. The varied activities he participated in gave him a fantastic grounding for school, eg nursery outings, sports days, play time, learning to dress/undress, meal time 'manners', etc.
I can never thank the staff at the Old Station Nursery enough for looking after my baby/toddler/pre-schooler - they genuinely care for the children - which when leaving your child in the care of someone else is the most important thing of all.

I would recommend for your child to come to The Old Station Nursery. My son has learnt so much being here at the school and is improving in loads of stuff, including sharing, playing and making friends.

Mother of 4 year old. Myself and my daughter have really enjoyed attending this Nursery over the past 3 and a half years.
The staff have been excellent and really supportive.
We will miss everyone there when my daughter attends school this September.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Old Station Nursery to be your childcare provider.
The girls there do an amazing job and it has such a lovely family atmosphere.
The manager is very helpful and approachable, as are the team who look after my daughter, fantastic.

Hello, I'm Steph and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Faringdon. My qualifications include a BA Hons, Early Childhood Development.


Faringdon was our first nursery and has seen many children develop and grow over the years. We offer great care and education and many local schools comment on being able to tell a Reception-aged child who has come from The Old Station Nursery.
