The House that Jack Built Nursery is located in Watford. Qualified and experienced staff provide care for children aged six months to five years.

The baby room focuses on sensory experience for very young children, with features such as a bubble wall, a soft play area and in the garden, a grass tunnel, a Wendy house and slides. There are regular sports and education sessions to help children develop mentally and physically. The toddler room builds on this with a bubble tube and an area dedicated to puzzles and construction. It also adds to the children’s sport and education sessions with additional weekly Spanish lessons. The pre-schoolers’ rooms have a garden and more educational resources to develop maths, literacy and social skills.

Parents are involved with their child’s care and invited to attend monthly parent meetings. Food is prepared onsite using fresh ingredients to provide nutritionally balanced meals. Parents can speak to staff about any dietary needs their child may have.

Both my daughters are at The House That Jack Built Nursery and we are so, so happy with their education and care. My eldest daughter is now in the Storytellers and my youngest in Dreamers, both classes and all teachers are fantastic. They have created a wonderful community, they keep us updated and
they are all so personable. The owners have gone out of their way to accommodate my ever-changing working arrangements and have done everything they can to help. Everyone takes time to talk to parents at drop/off and pick up, and we get great reports which are very detailed. From Pre covid, all the way through the pandemic until now, I have had the same level of care and consideration. They were so helpful when my eldest had to move to a dairy-free diet and she still gets delicious food, and never feels like she cannot have something as there is always an alternative! We love this nursery and will be so sad to leave when the girls go to big school.

I have nothing but complimentary feedback and full confidence in The House that Jack Built Nursery. Our daughter looks forward to her day here every time, with exciting activities she tells us about when we collect her. The activities they do are amazing for brain development and spatial awareness skills,
which we can see her progression through their interactive app. The staff and management are so friendly and professional, I can't thank them enough.

As a first time, mid-pandemic parent having conducted careful research reading Ofsted findings as well as reviewing social media to determine what I would deem the next best thing to my child being in my own care, I was decided. To my dismay, as you might expect due to their excellent rating, they were
full! I begged incessantly and was able to secure a waiting list position, 6 months away. This was the best decision I have ever made. I had no idea how average the previous nursery was until only 2 weeks in; every staff member speaks to each parent as an individual and the close-knit atmosphere means that each child seems like a family member. There is a clear curriculum in place which revolves in theme each month and I wasn’t sure how that would work across ages spanning from 6 to 24 months but the staff really make this work in an unbelievable sense. Development reports are given in-depth at handovers and within monthly handouts and the owners are extremely kind to the children.

Our son started The House That Jack Built Nursery in Feb 2021 at the age of 9 months. It was always our view that when you know you will know the right place and that's exactly what happened we had viewed a few nurseries and given the restrictions, it was always going to be a little more difficult,
as visits were after hours. We arranged to meet the manager to show us around the nursery setting. We went round all the different areas. The environment was great and the garden areas were lovely for children to play in. It was clean and organised and it just felt perfect, right from the start. After our visit, we left feeling confident that this definitely was the place we wanted our son to go. It's been a fantastic year watching our little one develop, showing us new things he has learnt, great activities planned by the amazing team. Its been tough times for everyone but the love and commitment by everyone at nursery has continued throughout. Everyone is so lovely and management are so supportive. Highly Recommend.

My daughter attends the nursery and has been in the baby room for the last six months. Being a lockdown baby, she was not used to other people or little children but she settled in so quickly and loves it. All of the staff are amazing, it is like a second family, I know that my daughter is being very
well cared for and in a safe environment. They do so many fantastic activities with the children to develop their skills. She loves singing and dancing. It is excellent how the staff keep us informed of what the children are doing and how they are developing. Daily photos and posts. I especially like that all the food is prepared and cooked on the premises by their fabulous chef who designs a very healthy, nutritional, varied menu each week. There is plenty of outside space too and so many educational toys for them to play with. My son also went there and it set him up with a great start for school. I would definitely highly recommend The House that Jack Built nursery.

I cannot praise or recommend The House That Jack Built Nursery enough. My daughter started in Sept 2020 so I was anxious about her being around so many people given the Covid environment. Within days all worries were gone. They had bubbles set up to keep the different groups isolated from each other
and the staff could not have been more reassuring. Added to the fact that she came out grinning ear to ear every day.


Since then, my little girl is learning quicker than I could have imagined and she is just so happy at nursery and is always excited on her nursery days. The staff are just amazing and they really listen. The feedback and communication with the nursery is incredible with an app updated through the day, messages and email, I am a very reassured and happy Mum and I have a very happy and content little girl.

My daughter started at nursery later then we planned due to covid. So I was extra nervous and a bit heartbroken leaving her there after spending 2 years with her by my side, but the staff have been amazing since day 1, they are continually putting my mind at rest by sending photos and updating the nursery
app with what she has eaten, how she has slept etc. When I pick her up she is so chatty and happy so I know she has had a good day. Her development is also monitored and encouraged with lots of different activities and 1 on 1 time. As well as a sports morning where an external coach is brought in. We highly recommend The House That Jack Built Nursery.

The House that Jack Built is a lovely nursery. I feel at ease dropping off my little one for his sessions. All the ladies are wonderful and amazing at taking care of the children. My daughter has attended this nursery for 3 years now and has really enjoyed her time. She was so excited to go back after lockdown and on her second day back told me she was having "too much fun" at nursery. The nursery have put in place a number of extra measures to ensure the safety of the children
including allocated drop off and pick up times, keeping the children in bubbles and extra cleaning. All of these measures have made me feel completely comfortable about my daughter returning.
The activities the children take part in are always well thought out and have really helped with the development of the skills my daughter will need when she starts school in September. She has particularly enjoyed the additional activities the nursery organise like phonics and music classes.
This nursery is smaller than a lot of the others I looked at which I think is a real advantage. The children all get to know each other well and form a real bond with the staff.

Both my daughter and son have attended this nursery from the ages of 3 and 2 respectively and they’ve had the best time. It’s a lovely bright and clean nursery that offers both a home from home and nurturing environment. The manager andher team go out of their way to be on hand at all times and are
very approachable if you ever have any queries. They are a small nursery based on big principles and are inclusive of everyone. As well as this they are set in beautiful grounds where the kids are taken for walks and are able to run around in the well-maintained fields. They also have a lovely on-site chef who cooks homemade meals throughout the day and whom the children all love! This nursery also practices very sound COVID measures for the safety of the children and staff which is a big relief to all parents. I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to anyone, you won’t be disappointed that’s for sure!

I imagine that many parents are nervous about the idea of their children starting or returning to nursery or school. I wasn't entirely sure either, what the right thing to do is. I was worried if it means an unnecessarily increased risk of catching the virus, I was afraid of being judged as a bad, careless
parent etc. But as lovely as it was to spend so much time together, I strongly believe that children require contact with their peers for all-round, well-balanced development. It has been a few weeks since my daughter got back and I am assured it was right decision. My daughter is loving being back and I am confident that the nursery is a safe space for her. They have been brilliant at keeping us updated with their safety measures and adopted a number of changes to keep everyone safe without feeling uncomfortable. It has been really reassuring for us during what is still much an uncertain time.

My daughter loves going to this nursery. The staff are very caring and communicate well, especially during the COVID Pandemic. They ensured safety and infection control and have put the children first. I feel that my child is safe and well looked after and developing so well with the help of the staff.
There are regular updates on your child’s developmental growth and daily updates so as to ensure you’re in the loop with every aspect of their care. The manager and staff do an amazing job and you can tell they care about the children to a significant degree. If you have any requirements they are happy to adapt things to suit your child’s needs. My daughter is dairy intolerant and they have made sure this is strictly adhered to. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

Our daughter started going to nursery just before lockdown and we are very happy for her to start again. The nursery organised bubbles which work extremely well. The staff works incredibly hard to maintain COVID 19 hygiene standards.
Safety, to be honest, was never an issue for us as we knew the manager
and the team would do everything they can to make sure the kids feel safe.
We as her parents went through a mixture of feelings such as excitement and fear, but primarily we were both really happy for our daughter to start again.
We feel like our daughter is in safe hands and from our perspective, this is what matters the most.
We highly recommend this nursery which is focused, organised and very clean!

My daughter has been at the nursery for 3 years now, she has always loved going. Whilst she was away from the nursery during the recent closures due to COVID, she constantly asked when she could go back to nursery as she "misses all the fun activities"
My daughter has made excellent progress in her
language, communication, drawing and writing skills and I believe this has a lot to do with attending this nursery. The daily tasks and activities they do with the children are excellent.
I have always been impressed with the staff and could not be happier with the nursery.
I have various friends who have children in several of the other local nurseries, when I have shown the parents the feedback emails/reports I get regularly they cannot believe the details compared to the feedback they get from their child’s nurseries.
From all my experiences I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a nursery in the local area seriously considers The House That Jack Built.

Very happy with the nursery. Initially wary of sending child to childcare due to food allergies. In just over a year of being at the nursery, we've had absolutely no issues and the staff have been incredibly supportive. They are also kind and my child has no worries about going to the adults when he

My daughter is now two and has been in the nursery since she was six months old. The staff has been very welcoming and caring, always open to discuss any concerns with her settling in and development. They organise parents' consultations twice a year, giving an additional chance to discuss with our
child's keyworker. I've seen my daughter progress so much since joining, that I feel this is an environment that helps her learn a lot, socialise with her peers and thrive. She is always happy to go and loves the members of staff, which gives me the confidence that she is looked after really well.

My children are very happy in this nursery, they always arrive and leave with a big smile. I think this is due to the caring, lovely, committed and welcoming staff that looks after them. The facilities and toys are very diverse and in optimal conditions. The rooms are also clean and tidy. The managers
are lovely and caring and always looking at ways to improve the quality of the nursery via activities, standards and suggestions.

Since my daughter has started attending The House That Jack Built nursery I have seen nothing but amazing achievements. Since the beginning, they have kept me up to date with everything my daughter does and have made the whole experience a joy to be involved with. The staff are warm, caring, considerate
and willing to give 100% every minute of the day. They are always there to help make sure your child has the support and encouragement they need. The bond that they have with the children is lovely and makes sending my daughter to nursery a lot easier and worry-free. They fill the day with great activities to keep the children entertained and send home anything your child has created that day. They also offer a great variety of breakfast, lunch and dinners.
I would highly recommend The House That Jack Built nursery to anybody as they are outstanding!

The House That Jack Built Nursery is a very friendly nursery, staff are very caring, warm and considerate with the children. My daughter has been attending this nursery for the last few months and we absolutely love it. The children get to explore a wide variety of activities and so many opportunities

The House That Jack Built is a small scale nursery with great facilities, huge amounts of resources, toys and wonderful staff. There is a dedicated chef that cooks a wide variety of homemade food and both our children have eaten really well there. We have had a very positive experience with the nursery
and our children have always been happy to go there. Knowing that our children are happy, learning and building friendships make returning to work easier.
