Such a lovely place for children to go. Both of my children have attended this setting from 2017-2020 and 2020 to the present. We were really impressed with the facilities, care and cleanliness from the beginning. We have seen the developments and improvements the manager and staff have made over the years, each time striving to provide the best equipment both inside and outside, learning resources and staff training with a great focus on equality and diversity. The team are committed to ensuring the nursery is a homely, safe and fun place for the children to attend. We couldn't be happier.
Thank you for for your lovely review, it means a lot to us.
Many thanks
Phillippa
I was really worried about going back to work when my daughter was a year old. From day 1 of her attending this nursery, it's been amazing. They have gone at her pace and allowed her plenty of time to settle into her new routine. She eats so well while at nursery too. I love seeing all the activities they get up to. They put a lot of thought into the sensory activities. I completely trust the nursery staff and they genuinely care for all the children.
Hi Carly, that is really lovely, thank you so much. Phillippa.
We totally recommend it.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, it means a lot to us. Phillippa.
My daughter is always happy going in and coming out of the nursery. The staff are friendly and always open the door with a smile. Although it’s been a tough couple of years, everyone at the nursery has made sure that the children and their families have continuously felt safe and made sure that they have provided the best possible experiences.
Hi Natalie, thank you that means a lot to us. Phillippa.
As I am working full-time, my son goes to nursery most of the days and I must say they are lifesavers! My son enjoys every day being there, the staff are all amazing and I am very grateful for everything they do for my son and our family. Working in the past with children myself I understand the work, responsibility and commitment they have looking after our children! My son is a happy boy who will come home telling me what he learned every day, how he played with his friends and the most important thing, that he had lots of fun! For me, it is very important for my child to be in a great environment with amazing people that will help him to grow and develop beautifully! I am very grateful to everyone in the nursery, many thanks to all of the staff including the amazing chef.
Good morning Petronela, thank you for your amazing review, that truly means a lot to us. Many thanks, Phillippa.
The best nursery ever! The staff are brilliant, the services are great and I have never felt so happy to leave my daughter in the most safest hands. I couldn’t be happier! Strongly recommended. My daughter has made the best of friends and the food is great!
Good morning Asha, that is so lovely to hear, thank you so much. Phillippa.
Both my daughters are at The House That Jack Built Nursery and we are so, so happy with their education and care. My eldest daughter is now in the Storytellers and my youngest in Dreamers, both classes and all teachers are fantastic. They have created a wonderful community, they keep us updated and they are all so personable. The owners have gone out of their way to accommodate my ever-changing working arrangements and have done everything they can to help. Everyone takes time to talk to parents at drop/off and pick up, and we get great reports which are very detailed. From Pre covid, all the way through the pandemic until now, I have had the same level of care and consideration. They were so helpful when my eldest had to move to a dairy-free diet and she still gets delicious food, and never feels like she cannot have something as there is always an alternative! We love this nursery and will be so sad to leave when the girls go to big school.
Hi Laura, that's such a lovely review and means a lot to all of us. Thank you, Phillippa.
I have nothing but complimentary feedback and full confidence in The House that Jack Built Nursery. Our daughter looks forward to her day here every time, with exciting activities she tells us about when we collect her. The activities they do are amazing for brain development and spatial awareness skills, which we can see her progression through their interactive app. The staff and management are so friendly and professional, I can't thank them enough.
Hi Richard, thank you for your lovely review, it really means a lot to us. Many thanks, Phillippa.
As a first time, mid-pandemic parent having conducted careful research reading Ofsted findings as well as reviewing social media to determine what I would deem the next best thing to my child being in my own care, I was decided. To my dismay, as you might expect due to their excellent rating, they were full! I begged incessantly and was able to secure a waiting list position, 6 months away. This was the best decision I have ever made. I had no idea how average the previous nursery was until only 2 weeks in; every staff member speaks to each parent as an individual and the close-knit atmosphere means that each child seems like a family member. There is a clear curriculum in place which revolves in theme each month and I wasn’t sure how that would work across ages spanning from 6 to 24 months but the staff really make this work in an unbelievable sense. Development reports are given in-depth at handovers and within monthly handouts and the owners are extremely kind to the children.
Hi Lara, that is so lovely to read and really means a lot to us. Thank you so much. Phillippa and Becky.
Our son started The House That Jack Built Nursery in Feb 2021 at the age of 9 months. It was always our view that when you know you will know the right place and that's exactly what happened we had viewed a few nurseries and given the restrictions, it was always going to be a little more difficult, as visits were after hours. We arranged to meet the manager to show us around the nursery setting. We went round all the different areas. The environment was great and the garden areas were lovely for children to play in. It was clean and organised and it just felt perfect, right from the start. After our visit, we left feeling confident that this definitely was the place we wanted our son to go. It's been a fantastic year watching our little one develop, showing us new things he has learnt, great activities planned by the amazing team. Its been tough times for everyone but the love and commitment by everyone at nursery has continued throughout. Everyone is so lovely and management are so supportive. Highly Recommend.
Hi Katie, that's such a lovely review, thank you so much. Many thanks, Phillippa.
My daughter attends the nursery and has been in the baby room for the last six months. Being a lockdown baby, she was not used to other people or little children but she settled in so quickly and loves it. All of the staff are amazing, it is like a second family, I know that my daughter is being very well cared for and in a safe environment. They do so many fantastic activities with the children to develop their skills. She loves singing and dancing. It is excellent how the staff keep us informed of what the children are doing and how they are developing. Daily photos and posts. I especially like that all the food is prepared and cooked on the premises by their fabulous chef who designs a very healthy, nutritional, varied menu each week. There is plenty of outside space too and so many educational toys for them to play with. My son also went there and it set him up with a great start for school. I would definitely highly recommend The House that Jack Built nursery.
Thank you Helen, that is truly lovely and greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Phillippa.
I cannot praise or recommend The House That Jack Built Nursery enough. My daughter started in Sept 2020 so I was anxious about her being around so many people given the Covid environment. Within days all worries were gone. They had bubbles set up to keep the different groups isolated from each other and the staff could not have been more reassuring. Added to the fact that she came out grinning ear to ear every day.
Since then, my little girl is learning quicker than I could have imagined and she is just so happy at nursery and is always excited on her nursery days. The staff are just amazing and they really listen. The feedback and communication with the nursery is incredible with an app updated through the day, messages and email, I am a very reassured and happy Mum and I have a very happy and content little girl.
My daughter started at nursery later then we planned due to covid. So I was extra nervous and a bit heartbroken leaving her there after spending 2 years with her by my side, but the staff have been amazing since day 1, they are continually putting my mind at rest by sending photos and updating the nursery app with what she has eaten, how she has slept etc. When I pick her up she is so chatty and happy so I know she has had a good day. Her development is also monitored and encouraged with lots of different activities and 1 on 1 time. As well as a sports morning where an external coach is brought in. We highly recommend The House That Jack Built Nursery.
The House that Jack Built is a lovely nursery. I feel at ease dropping off my little one for his sessions. All the ladies are wonderful and amazing at taking care of the children. The ladies are super helpful when I have queries, they do fantastic activities with children which is always lovely to see.
The activities the children take part in are always well thought out and have really helped with the development of the skills my daughter will need when she starts school in September. She has particularly enjoyed the additional activities the nursery organise like phonics and music classes.
This nursery is smaller than a lot of the others I looked at which I think is a real advantage. The children all get to know each other well and form a real bond with the staff.
Many thanks
Both my daughter and son have attended this nursery from the ages of 3 and 2 respectively and they’ve had the best time. It’s a lovely bright and clean nursery that offers both a home from home and nurturing environment. The manager andher team go out of their way to be on hand at all times and are very approachable if you ever have any queries. They are a small nursery based on big principles and are inclusive of everyone. As well as this they are set in beautiful grounds where the kids are taken for walks and are able to run around in the well-maintained fields. They also have a lovely on-site chef who cooks homemade meals throughout the day and whom the children all love! This nursery also practices very sound COVID measures for the safety of the children and staff which is a big relief to all parents. I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery to anyone, you won’t be disappointed that’s for sure!
Thank you for your lovely review and comments they really mean a lot to us. Many thanks, Phillippa.
I imagine that many parents are nervous about the idea of their children starting or returning to nursery or school. I wasn't entirely sure either, what the right thing to do is. I was worried if it means an unnecessarily increased risk of catching the virus, I was afraid of being judged as a bad, careless parent etc. But as lovely as it was to spend so much time together, I strongly believe that children require contact with their peers for all-round, well-balanced development. It has been a few weeks since my daughter got back and I am assured it was right decision. My daughter is loving being back and I am confident that the nursery is a safe space for her. They have been brilliant at keeping us updated with their safety measures and adopted a number of changes to keep everyone safe without feeling uncomfortable. It has been really reassuring for us during what is still much an uncertain time.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, it really means a lot to us. Many thanks, Phillippa.
My daughter loves going to this nursery. The staff are very caring and communicate well, especially during the COVID Pandemic. They ensured safety and infection control and have put the children first. I feel that my child is safe and well looked after and developing so well with the help of the staff. There are regular updates on your child’s developmental growth and daily updates so as to ensure you’re in the loop with every aspect of their care. The manager and staff do an amazing job and you can tell they care about the children to a significant degree. If you have any requirements they are happy to adapt things to suit your child’s needs. My daughter is dairy intolerant and they have made sure this is strictly adhered to. I would definitely recommend this nursery!
Phillippa
Safety, to be honest, was never an issue for us as we knew the manager and the team would do everything they can to make sure the kids feel safe.
We as her parents went through a mixture of feelings such as excitement and fear, but primarily we were both really happy for our daughter to start again.
We feel like our daughter is in safe hands and from our perspective, this is what matters the most.
We highly recommend this nursery which is focused, organised and very clean!
Thank you for your lovely comments they really mean a lot to us. Thank you, Phillippa.
My daughter has made excellent progress in her language, communication, drawing and writing skills and I believe this has a lot to do with attending this nursery. The daily tasks and activities they do with the children are excellent.
I have always been impressed with the staff and could not be happier with the nursery.
I have various friends who have children in several of the other local nurseries, when I have shown the parents the feedback emails/reports I get regularly they cannot believe the details compared to the feedback they get from their child’s nurseries.
From all my experiences I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a nursery in the local area seriously considers The House That Jack Built.
