Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans)

Grasshoppers St Albans is excellent! The staff are brilliant, the care and education is fantastic and our child has had a great time and made lots of friends. Our child will be tranfering to primary school in September and the experience she has had at grasshoppers has prepared her very well indeed. Thank you to the entire team for all their very hard work!

Grasshoppers day nursery is an very excellent place for children. All the staff lovely, kind always greet parents with smiles, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone. I also pleased to share that my daughter settled in beautifuly and always comes home with a big smile! showing her growing confidence! Thank Grasshoppers team for making such a lovely environment!

Grasshoppers provides excellent care, support and learning for my child. They really show genuine care for my child and my child values all the staff and their key worker. My child enjoys prime time activities, the garden area and the facilities. They focus on promoting learning and encouraging good communication and good choices.

We have two children at Grasshoppers, our son (4) and daughter (2), and we are incredibly happy with the nursery generally. The team is stable, and they very nurturing and caring with the children. There seems to be a happy environment amongst the team and all the children. Both of our children are happy to go in in the morning, and seem happy and engaged at pick up. They are both developing close bonds with both the team and their peers and are both progressing well in their own personal development. Overall we are really happy with Grasshoppers and would highly recommend it to others.

Our daughter has a lovely time at Grasshoppers. She is cared for very well and has great fun. Her experiences are very varied and the teachers are very kind to her. I would love there to be more shade in the pre school garden!

My kids both attend, with my eldest having been there for 16 months already. The staff is superb and very caring. The nursery is spotlessly clean and well organised. We love the open flow from rooms to outside space. Our children feel safe and happy and have built a little community of local friends. We have nothing but praise for it and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Really happy with Grasshoppers. My son has really thrived there, he settled well after swapping nurseries from South London to St Albans. The staff are friendly and reassuring in his room (Bumblebees). My son is learning and making friends. I am looking forward to his experience in the preschool room.

We are very impressed with Grasshoppers nursery. Our daughter was quite unsure when she first joined the nursery but the dedication of each of the staff in her room and the wider nursery of getting to know her has meant that she now goes to nursery confidently and happily. It is really lovely to see. The activities are varied and engaging for the children and the updates are great for the parents.

Grasshoppers is an excellent nursery with staff that are caring and attentive. The children are able to spend lots of time outside (weather permitting) and partake in different activities everyday.

My daughter has thrived at Grasshoppers Nursery. When I describe Grasshoppers to my friends, I say it's everything you would hope a nursery would provide for your child.

The staff are fantastic. My daughter describes her key worker as her best friend. They know each of the children very well and communicate extremely well with parents to ensure they personalise their delivery to meet each child's needs. They went out of their way to support my daughter when she became a big sister and also when she was struggling with toilet training. I get regular, insightful feedback and suggestions regarding my child's growth. It feels like a partnership.

Learning through play is done particularly well here. I'm often surprised by the diversity of learning topics and methods. There are also extra activities including music and yoga.

Grasshoppers puts the child at the centre of everything they do. I couldn't ask for a better environment for my daughter and have complete trust in their care.

We've been very happy with Grasshoppers Day Nursery. One thing that has stood out for me was the careful integration of my son with a slow and gradual settling-in period, which I felt was generous and had my son's interests and well-being at heart. The building and facilities one nice and the staff always seem to be professional. I also like the range of activities that he does there. It is quite expensive though, as the 15 hours universal childcare cannot be used on one day which was the case at our previous nursery. Also, there is limited availability to increase days but that is due to the high quality of service I imagine.

The nursery has exceeded expectations. Communication with the parents is brilliant and development activities with the children are great.

Grasshoppers has been great for our son. They have always been great at communicating with us, and regularly provide updates to reassure us. Our son has flourished in their care, and we've always felt very confident that they really look after him. Highly recommend to any parent.

After my child experienced a broken bone out of nursery the staff were extremely compliant with the care advice given by doctors. They ensured extra safety precautions were taken but still allowed a normal nursery experience for him. They were very cautious. My son always enjoys entering nursery, easily waving goodbye to me at the door. He thoroughly enjoys his meal times and socialising with his friends which has furthered his independence.

My daughter took a while to settle into her part-time nursery schedule, but the patience and perseverance of the caterpillar's staff and her lovely key person made her transition as smooth as possible. And she absolutely loves it now - she can’t get over the gate quick enough! It isn’t our closest nursery, but we had several recommendations from other parents and after doing a tour whilst pregnant, we knew it was the right fit for our family. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, it’s a homely but secure setting, we get regular photos and updates about her day and it’s very reassuring to know that she’s eating nutritious meals (things she would totally refuse to eat at home!).

We moved our toddler to Grasshoppers as we were unhappy with his previous nursery and the difference in our child since he moved is incredible. Cannot recommend Grasshoppers enough, fantastic staff who plan thoughtful activities and great communication - we love it here and so does our son!
