Purbrook Day Nursery & Pre-school

My son has been going here since he was 2 and they have been brilliant with him! Patient when he needed time to settle in and he is absolutely thriving! His keyworker has really helped him with his speech and I know he adores all of the staff! Thank you again and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Brilliant nursery/preschool. My daughter loves it. She has been going there since she was 1 year old, she's 3.5 years old now. Children have lots of fun, also learn lots of interesting facts. I would highly recommend this nursery/pre-school.

My son can be a very boisterous boy and his listening ears often go on holiday. But my son's key worker and the manager have not given up on him and ensure he has a fun time while at the nursery. My son always comes home telling us about his day with his keyworker and what fun activities they have done. This week the discussion has been non-stop about the chicks that have hatched and his favourite one he named (who is also a staff member at the nursery who has always got time for my son) I couldn't be happier with this nursery.

My son started at the nursery when he was just 9 months old, a little over a year ago. He and I love the nursery. Every morning he is greeted by his keyworker who he adores. Often talking about her at home. She has only recently become my son's keyworker and has been amazing with him. I love the home-cooked food the nursery provides along with the price including nappies and wipes. Couldn't be happier with how the nursery looks after my son.

My daughter started at Purbrook Day Nursery & Pre-school at the beginning of the year. I can’t thank the nursery and staff enough for not just making my daughter feel at ease but also myself. They update me daily on how her day has been. She always goes in and comes out with a huge smile on her face. My daughter's favourite key worker is always so warm and welcoming, I have no doubt that my daughter is in safe hands when I leave her at pre-school. Also want to say a big thank you to the manager, when we viewed the nursery on one of their open days she was fantastic at explaining everything and showing us around. We viewed other nurseries in the area but this one stood out to us.

I can't recommend this nursery enough. My son has been attending this nursery since he was 9 months old. From being a 'lockdown baby', he really struggled with the transition, there were lots of tears and he wasn't settled. However, the staff were amazing and even offered to keep in touch sessions over the summer holidays, as for him not to go backwards! He now goes in perfectly fine, waves goodbye and has a fun-packed day! Special mention goes to his key worker, she is so patient and so good with him! My mind is completely at ease knowing he is being well looked after. Thank you!

Our eldest has flourished and is being prepared for school life by learning his writing and reading through play and activities. Our youngest just loves being at nursery and all the activities that he gets to do there (cooking, painting, singing etc)

My child has been attending the nursery for a while now, she started out in toddler group and has now moved up to pre-school. Throughout her time, the staff have all been so wonderful in helping to support a very shy, quiet child to become confident and independent. She enjoys her time here so much. All the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere at the nursery is warm and welcoming, I’m always happy leaving her there. My youngest child will be starting the nursery soon also which I’m really looking forward to for her as she will benefit from the excellent care her sister has received. I would definitely recommend this nursery/preschool to anyone looking for quality care for their children

The staff are so friendly and always keeping the children busy with different activities. Every time I collect my son his key worker will come outside to provide a mini handover and let me know what he’s been up to, what he’s eaten, things he’s enjoyed which is great. This is on top of the weekly newsletters and the eyLog system that they use! When I was potty training the staff were really helpful updating his sticker chart and keeping on top of his toilet visits etc. I would highly recommend this nursery.

We really did grow to love The Purbrook Nursery & Pre-school all the welcoming and caring staff. This is why it will always be a place I will recommend, moving forward.

I can’t thank this nursery enough, my little girl was so happy attending here and so sad she had had to leave for school. The team are amazing and my daughter had such a fun time learning, especially in the beautiful cottage garden! The range of activities they provide for is outstanding and the way the team dealt with the huge pressures we all saw with COVID was commendable! The staff are always welcoming, keep parents well informed and you can see and feel their genuine care for a child’s development. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something special in childcare!

Both my children attended Purbrook Day Nursery. I came to them after having issues with a local nursery and it was the best decision I've ever made. They were welcoming, attentive and organised. My children loved it there and my youngest, in particular, who's just started school, keeps asking me to come back. Best nursery in Waterlooville!

My little girl has been attending Rocking Horse for 2 years now. It has a very homely atmosphere with excellent management and caring staff. They really put great efforts in arranging activities to engage children which are both fun and educational. Always listens to your concerns, excellent communication via emails or phone and up to date with weekly newsletters in keeping the parents informed with any changes. Keep up the great work Rocking Horse Team.

My daughter started at Rocking Horse Nursery earlier this year and has loved it since day one and so have I. My daughter loves all the staff and is always full of stories about her day when I collect her. She is so happy to go to nursery which in turn makes me happy.

This is a fantastic nursery with amazing, caring staff. The nursery was fantastic working with my son and had excellent relationships and communication with the parents. I would always highly recommend the nursery to any parents I know that want to feel reassured their child is safe and happy whilst they are at work.

Our two daughters started nursery in July 2020, two and a half days a week, and they have loved going ever since. Everyone there has been amazing and our two are always at the door on the morning of nursery itching to go. We have already seen them both learn lots of new things since being at nursery. We are both looking forward to seeing them grow and learn at nursery.

All the staff at the nursery are outstanding, my son loves everyone there. He has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery. I think it is wonderful how they promote imagination and play whilst learning colours, number and manners. He is full of confidence. The team at the nursery show a strong partnership and are very welcoming. My son has breakfast, lunch and dinner at nursery and eats a wide variety of healthy food. And the management is outstanding. And their cleanliness is brilliant.

My two-year-old son started at Rocking Horse in September and I couldn’t be happier. All members of staff are warm and welcoming even when he’s being a pickle to get in and he’s always telling me how much fun he’s had at the nursery.

Rocking Horse Nursery is great! Both my daughters attended Rocking Horse, with my eldest now in Year 1. She still looks forward to Summer term and Half terms when she can be booked into nursery together with her younger sister. My younger daughter loves going every day, watching her grow with more confidence and coming home with more songs she learnt in nursery. The team in Rocking Horse is great under the leadership of the current manager. They have come a long way and now a very stable nursery. Loads of activities like Annual Christmas Nativity Play was a highlight (although we might not have one this year due to COVID). All in all, we'll recommend for anyone who is considering a nursery for their little ones. Just the right size nursery with a great team, great activities and great care for the little ones!
