The manager is great and has been so understanding with all the schedule changes etc.
My son has had settling sessions and even though he’s worried about going in everyone has been great with making him feel comfortable and he comes out so happy.

My little ones started in April 2023, one new to nursery, one coming from another nursery.
They both seem and look happy while in there. Despite my young one still crying at drop-off, she is always happy at the end of the day and in the photos.
They have a nice garden area and a baby area. They do
several activities during the day and also have a varied food menu.
Their staff is always nice. Also to mention that email/phone communication before enrolling was very good compared to 2 other nurseries in the area that never answered to us.
Overall happy with them!

I highly recommend Purbrook Nursery and Preschool. The staff are very caring and have really gotten to know our children. They have actively encouraged their interests and helped develop them.
As a family we relocated to the area and my children took a while adjusting. The staff really made an effort
to help them settle in, especially as drop-offs were upsetting for them. Now my children go in really happy and look forward to their time there. As a protective parent, I feel reassured that my children are cared for, nurtured, and safe.
The communication has always been good, especially with their key workers at pick up and drop off.

My eldest daughter has been attending the nursery since we relocated back to the UK last year from overseas and our soon to be 6-month-old daughter will be joining her in September. I’m feeling confident that she will settle in well knowing how great the last year has been. All the staff are very friendly
and genuinely caring. Communication and updates are regular and it has always been easy to arrange a face to face chat if I’ve needed to speak to her key worker or one of the management team. My daughter is happy and enjoys nursery days often chatting about the many fun activities provided and going through all of the names of the staff and other children she interacts and plays with. The food offered is varied and nutritious and we have really appreciated the cook catering for specific needs of our daughter at different times. The main outside area is looking great and we’re excited to see the new baby snug which should be open in the coming months.

An amazing nursery in the Purbrook/Waterlooville area! We actually had my son in a different nursery close by, but moved him to Purbrook after a bad experience - I can honestly say this is by far the best nursery in the area. The staff stay at the setting for a long time (which shows the management
treat their staff well) and they are all really caring. In particular, two staff members are so supportive and really care about the children. The activities they do are fantastic (hatching chicks at Easter, growing vegetables in the garden, newts in the pond, visits by the emergency services, petting zoo visits, teddy bear picnics... the list goes on). I love that they have their own in-house chef for lunch/dinner - great variety of meals. My son has progressed so much with his speaking, manners, putting his toys away, listening skills since he has been at this nursery. 5 stars!

In the short time my child has been at Purbrook Day Nursery, the staff in the baby snug and in particular her key worker has been nothing short of amazing. They have made my return to work so much easier by knowing she is in safe hands with staff who are kind, caring and so responsive to her needs.
She already knows her likes and dislikes and tends to these so well - they have such a lovely relationship and she has never found it difficult to say goodbye to me.


She and the other staff are so patient and will happily adapt to cater for her being tricky at times! This includes when she has found it difficult to wean or get herself off to sleep. Her key worker makes sure she is always the first face she sees when I drop her off which reassures us both! All baby staff provide exciting opportunities for the children to learn and explore and are so nurturing. I would highly recommend this nursery as one where the children will thrive.

My daughter joined the nursery 2-years ago; she had a very rocky start and really hated us leaving her, but the staff were outstanding with the care/love and distraction techniques, and after just a few short weeks, she absolutely loved going. No tears, no upset. Now at the age of 3, she can't wait
to go! The staff were so much fun and were so engaging while she was in the toddler group; now she is in preschool, she doesn't even say goodbye; she just wants to see her keyworker and play games! The managers are brilliant and keep us up to date with everything in their newsletters or when we see them on drop off/pick up. We can't recommend the nursery enough.

My son attended the pre-school up until he went to school and he absolutely loved his time there. We loved the fact that activities were geared towards what the children like and my son had the best time. My daughter has now been attending for the last 7 months and also loves it. She settled so well
into the baby room and got so excited whenever we mentioned some of the staff. We always felt comfortable knowing she was well looked after and having a good time, and each time we picked her up it was amazing to see how much she had learnt.


She has just moved into the toddler group and is settling really quickly and we are so pleased to see how much she is enjoying her time there already.
The staff are all brilliant with the children, the food is great and it is wonderful seeing our daughter try new things. They are also happy to answer any questions and always quick to respond which is really reassuring. We can't fault them!

My son has been attending the Preschool for 18 months. He absolutely loves his days there. The staff are so knowledgeable about the curriculum and the activities they provide for the children reflect current best practices. The manager always responds promptly to any queries we have and we feel she
knows our son really well. He always talks about the learning he does with one of the staff and says he does brilliant voices when reading stories to the group!


We recently attended the Open Day and I was amazed by the wonderful new outdoor space and facilities they have. They have a real focus on natural materials, small parts play and lots of wonderful learning opportunities with living animals like chicks, tadpoles and fish. Our son loves the free reign they have when playing outdoors and being able to play outside in all weather. During the Open Day, I tried some of the dishes cooked by Lorraine. The jerk chicken with mango salsa was delicious. Our son is a fairly fussy eater but he always eats well there.

My son can be a very boisterous boy and his listening ears often go on holiday. But my son's key worker and the manager have not given up on him and ensure he has a fun time while at the nursery. My son always comes home telling us about his day with his keyworker and what fun activities they have done.
This week the discussion has been non-stop about the chicks that have hatched and his favourite one he named (who is also a staff member at the nursery who has always got time for my son) I couldn't be happier with this nursery.

My son started at the nursery when he was just 9 months old, a little over a year ago. He and I love the nursery. Every morning he is greeted by his keyworker who he adores. Often talking about her at home. She has only recently become my son's keyworker and has been amazing with him. I love the home-cooked

My daughter started at Purbrook Day Nursery & Pre-school at the beginning of the year. I can’t thank the nursery and staff enough for not just making my daughter feel at ease but also myself. They update me daily on how her day has been. She always goes in and comes out with a huge smile on her face.
My daughter's favourite key worker is always so warm and welcoming, I have no doubt that my daughter is in safe hands when I leave her at pre-school. Also want to say a big thank you to the manager, when we viewed the nursery on one of their open days she was fantastic at explaining everything and showing us around. We viewed other nurseries in the area but this one stood out to us.

I can't recommend this nursery enough. My son has been attending this nursery since he was 9 months old. From being a 'lockdown baby', he really struggled with the transition, there were lots of tears and he wasn't settled. However, the staff were amazing and even offered to keep in touch sessions over
the summer holidays, as for him not to go backwards! He now goes in perfectly fine, waves goodbye and has a fun-packed day! Special mention goes to his key worker, she is so patient and so good with him! My mind is completely at ease knowing he is being well looked after. Thank you!
