Queens Baby Nursery has been operating for many years and is part of a small group of nurseries in the heart of Buckhurst Hill high street.

Queens Baby Nursery specialises in care and support between the ages of three months and two years of age, within a safe and secure setting.

The nursery is graded Ofsted's highest award of outstanding (September 2018).

All staff members are first aid trained and the nursery has been awarded the Millie's Mark award.

The nursery follows the curiosity approach and a natural theme is followed throughout.

The rooms are divided by age and fully support babies in the stages of physical development supporting them to meet their milestones.

Friendly and experienced professionals keep families at the heart of their children's learning and work in partnership with parents as they share developmental observations, images and videos on a daily basis. Parents are often invited in for weekly sessions such as breakfast mornings and stay and play sessions. Communication is always key and parents are updated weekly with catch up emails, blog posts, Facebook page and newsletters.

The on-site nursery chef cooks a partly organic menu fresh each day which has been created with the support of a certified nutritionist. A three-week rotating menu ensures the children’s diet is varied and healthy every day the children attend. The nursery's long-serving chef cooks with the children daily as they help make tea and freshly baked bread for breakfast.

The nursery employs daily specialist teachers to support children in the earliest years. These include Yoga, Baby Ballet, Lingotots, Theatre Bugs and Tappy Toes. All teachers are fully referenced, police checked and are employed through accredited early years companies.

We have been so so impressed with Queens Baby Nursery, our daughter absolutely loves it. The staff really are fantastic and have gone above and beyond in helping our little daughter transition to having a new sibling through talking with her and using dolls etc. There are amazing activities on offer.
Our daughter loves ballet dancing and can now sing lots of French sons. Highly recommend.

After having had a great experience with this nursery with our daughter just under 2 years ago, it was never in doubt that we wanted our son to attend the same nursery and we feel so fortunate to have gotten a spot for him too. We entrust them to take care of him without a single worry. He has already
made great connections with his peers as well as his key workers and seems to be happy to go to nursery every day. The environment and activities are very stimulating, the way the interior is designed is inviting for kids to go and explore and the outside space is just lovely.

We as a family have been really pleased with the care our child has received at this nursery. We consider the activities to be stimulating and educational, and the reports to parents have been thorough, frequent and much appreciated. We were particularly pleased that our son was actively encouraged
to start walking and fully supported in this. We, as a family, were supported through lockdown when our other childcare shut down. Thank you.

My son recently started nursery here and seems to be really enjoying it from the feedback we receive from the staff. All the staff are friendly and attentive. When we phone for an update, they are always happy to tell us how he is getting on. Since starting nursery, we have already noticed progress
in his development. He has a few food allergies which the staff are aware of and these have been well catered for. We love hearing about his day and seeing what he gets up to.

My daughter has been attending since August and has flourished under their care. She adores the staff and even asks to go at weekends, which shows how happy she is. Although the outside space is small, they use the forest on the doorstep and local facilities.

Such a lovely nursery, I now have my second child at Queens with my first starting at Baby Nursery and then going to the Pre-school up the road. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would send my next one to Queen. All the staff are absolutely lovely and it is such a relief/peace of mind
that my little one is getting amazing care while I'm at work.

The staff are incredible and my daughter has built a bond with all of them in some way over the last year that she has been attending. She’s excited to go to nursery each day and I know that she’ll be taken care of when she’s there. They’ve responded incredibly well to the challenges of the last year,
particularly with all of the COVID restrictions and continue to create a welcoming and safe space for all of the children.

I can’t recommend the Queens Baby Nursery more. The team are fantastic! They are all so caring towards the children are committed to encouraging their development and wellbeing. The team are professional and responsive to parents. There is great communication via email and the online eylog app. The
children’s days are planned out really well with great weekly themed activities both indoors and in the lovely outdoor space as well as day visits to the local woodland and parks. My little one is so happy at the nursery and regularly talks about the nursery and her key person when we are at home. It’s heartwarming to see her thriving and enjoying nursery and learning so much. The nursery have also implemented regular covid email updates for parents, invested in air purifiers for each room and have a robust covid policy for parents and staff to safeguard the team and the children in their care. I can’t thank the team enough for their hard work and commitment.

Our twins have recently started at Queens Baby Nursery and we are so pleased with how they are settling in. The staff are very caring and helpful and put us at ease straight away. We love receiving the photo updates of what the girls have been up to, and there is always so much variety with different
activities and themes. We also like seeing their daily reports showing what they've eaten, the food always sounds delicious! I would highly recommend Queens Baby Nursery to other parents.

I was extremely apprehensive about going back to work and leaving my daughter at nursery. I conducted an extensive review of all the nurseries between Epping and Buckhurst Hill and can honestly say that Queens Baby Nursery was head and shoulders above them all. The staff are all amazing and clearly
committed to the social and emotional development of every child. They show genuine compassion and care for all the children and my daughter loves them all. I am so pleased I made the decision to send my daughter here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Queens Baby Nursery to any parent.

My son is currently at Queens Baby Nursery and my daughter was there last year. We chose the nursery mainly because of its warm homely vibe and we have certainly found this true. They have cared for our children so well, which is obvious in how happy they are, and how well they are developing. And a

I was so nervous to send my little boy to nursery for the first time this summer, but he absolutely loves it! My little boy started Queens Baby Nursery at the end of August this year. Since then he has come on leaps and bounds. He runs straight in and doesn’t look back. It’s the same when we pick him up, he never wants to leave and as a parent that makes me so happy to know that he is loving his time at baby
nursery. He is learning so much and becoming an amazing little boy with so much confidence. My little boy was born with a cleft meaning that his hearing and speech are affected and the girls at Baby Nursery are working so hard with him to help his speech develop.
The girls at Baby Nursery are kind, caring and are always there to support you and your child. I would recommend Queens Baby Nursery in a heartbeat!

My daughter attends the nursery and we absolutely love it. Her key worker is a true asset to the nursery and our daughter loves her to bits. Any concerns we have had have been addressed swiftly and with the highest levels of professionalism and care. Our daughter has developed so quickly with them and
they clearly know what they are doing. She loves going to nursery and we have not ever regretted our choice. They stand out from the crowd compared to other local nurseries.


We honestly feel she is learning so much every day and the nursery have an outstanding method and “curriculum.” The activities and themes are varied and always challenge her. Every member of staff care and offer support for our child’s development and care. All of which clearly share the same vision for the children in their care.

Our 10-month old son has just started at Queens Road Baby Nursery and we couldn't be more pleased with the care they are providing. We were concerned about him settling in; eating, sleeping and generally being happy there. They have got to know him so quickly and have worked so hard to make him feel
welcomed and comfortable. I feel 100% happy leaving him there every day knowing that he is being so well looked after. The food is nutritious and healthy. The nursery is always clean and tidy, the activities are well structured and age-appropriate and all the staff know exactly what they're doing. It is safe and cosy. I'm so pleased they had a space for our son!

Queen’s Baby Nursery is a fantastic Nursery with loving and friendly staff. My son has been attending the nursery since September 2017 and he is always happy and smiling going into nursery and when collecting.


The nursery offers a quick and smooth settling period when joining and transitioning to

the next room. The nursery are very informative and offer many parental involvement opportunities, such as, parent evenings and parent workshops, which gives you a real insight to what your child gets up to during their day at nursery, which is so lovely to see!


They offer a very healthy and nutritious menu, which my son loves, as he on most occasions has second helpings!
Each room provides a wide range of activities that the children are able to access independently. They also offer a great deal of messy play activities! Which is great especially if you haven’t got the time to do it at home!


Overall, based on our experience I would definitely recommend this nursery to all parents!

Debbie Selby

Debbie is an exceptional, experienced manager who gained her NNEB in 1984 and in May 2013 achieved an Early Years Professional Status. Debbie continued training and in July 2013 became a BA in Early Childhood Studies graduate. Debbie’s strong passion for working with children and supporting their development needs is exemplary. Debbie joined the team early in 2019. Debbie thoroughly enjoys supporting the children through their milestones, transition to Queens Nursery, reflecting on the practice within the rooms and being an outstanding role model to the team with her superb mentoring skills. Debbie ensures the nursery is running to an outstanding manner every day.

Zoe is an exceptional and energetic deputy manager who joined our team in 2018. Zoe is highly skilled in outdoor play and plans very exciting activities for the children outside and in the local community. Zoe is highly qualified and holds a level 5 in Childcare and Education.

Hannah is the room leader of our youngest room the cubs room. Hannah is exceptional in her role as parent partnership lead and successfully hold families at the heart of the nursery as babies settle in well and engage in awe and wonder play and experiences.

Ana Mountino

Ana is an exceptional room leader who is also a fully qualified teacher. Ana uses her teaching skills to build on children's vocabulary and physical skills. Ana is very caring and introduces Montessori play to the children.
