Queens Baby Nursery has been operating for many years and is part of a small group of nurseries in the heart of Buckhurst Hill high street.

Queens Baby Nursery specialises in care and support between the ages of three months and two years of age, within a safe and secure setting.

The nursery is graded Ofsted's highest award of outstanding (September 2018).

All staff members are first aid trained and the nursery has been awarded the Millie's Mark award.

The nursery follows the curiosity approach and a natural theme is followed throughout.

The rooms are divided by age and fully support babies in the stages of physical development supporting them to meet their milestones.

Friendly and experienced professionals keep families at the heart of their children's learning and work in partnership with parents as they share developmental observations, images and videos on a daily basis. Parents are often invited in for weekly sessions such as breakfast mornings and stay and play sessions. Communication is always key and parents are updated weekly with catch up emails, blog posts, Facebook page and newsletters.

The on-site nursery chef cooks a partly organic menu fresh each day which has been created with the support of a certified nutritionist. A three-week rotating menu ensures the children’s diet is varied and healthy every day the children attend. The nursery's long-serving chef cooks with the children daily as they help make tea and freshly baked bread for breakfast.

The nursery employs daily specialist teachers to support children in the earliest years. These include Yoga, Baby Ballet, Lingotots, Theatre Bugs and Tappy Toes. All teachers are fully referenced, police checked and are employed through accredited early years companies.

We have had an amazing experience with Queens Baby Nursery. Our daughter has loved her time there - we couldn’t have asked for a better environment for her to develop over the past 12 months. The staff are all brilliant and have taken such good care of her. There are always so many activities and learning
experiences and we are always kept updated on what has been happening throughout the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better nursery.

We really miss Queens Baby Nursery! Our daughter was so loved by all the staff. We would drop her off in the morning knowing she was in a loving, caring, and safe place. We didn't want her time there to end. It was homely for her. The activities were so varied, the staff got really creative with ideas
and really knew her personality and needs. Thank you for teaching our daughter so much and looking after her so nicely. She is a real chatterbox and an independent almost two-year-old. She was ready for her step up to Queens Nursery with her friends thanks to you all.

I've now had the pleasure of having two children go to Baby Nursery. Both children have had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Personally, I believe they have developed into confident, social children partly due to the nurturing and structure provided by the team at Queens.
The staff are
amazing and stable with most of the personnel remaining the same over the three years I have known them. I will be extremely sad to say goodbye. They have been an important part of our early years and we can't recommend them enough.

As first-time parents, we were so nervous about sending our daughter to nursery, especially so young, but everyone at Queens Baby Nursery was wonderful at helping her settle in and calming our nerves too! She came on leaps and bounds during the time she was there thanks to the high level of attentiveness,
encouragement and commitment from all of the staff, and the variety of activities and experiences they offer (which include French and Yoga!).
I found the staff to be incredibly nurturing and caring, and they built a strong bond with my daughter, who loved every minute of her time there. She was so sad to leave but graduated to Queen's pre-school nursery. I would recommend Queens Baby Nursery without hesitation.

Queens Baby Nursery is the best nursery. I was apprehensive at first, but my mind was quickly put at peace from the first day after seeing how caring and knowledgeable the staff are. My son absolutely loves the nursery and he has settled very well. The staff are attentive, dedicated and loving. My son's
speech has improved significantly since attending and in a short period of time. He particularly loves lunch and all his snacks.
The manager is a pleasure to speak to and always happy to help. The app is particularly great as I can monitor my son's food consumption and all of his activities. Do not hesitate! I cannot sing their praises enough. Highly recommend the nursery.

Queens Baby Nursery is really incredible. Both my children have attended, starting in the cubs room and have just graduated to Queens pre-school. We have found the team to be excellent. The nursery provide exciting classes such as yoga, day trips, sensory play and even IT games. The team are caring,
imaginative and both of my kids have loved attending - we couldn't recommend the nursery more. The manager is just wonderful and always available to speak and go above and beyond to ensure our little ones have everything they need.

Since our daughter arrived at the nursery, she has been welcomed with open arms and shown enthusiasm, warmth, compassion and fun. The staff's attention to her needs is incredible. The teamwork between the key workers and manager is amazing - there are new activities all the time, and fun learning goes

My son started last summer for a few days a week, before eventually attending full-time. He gets on well with the other children. He has forged a fantastic relationship with his key worker as well as the staff in general. I am confident that his social and emotional needs are being met largely due to
the fact that now at 16 months, he will voluntarily walk in every morning with a smile on his face. I am able to leave him each day with peace of mind.

My son attends for two days and started at 18 months old. Within weeks, he had noticeably developed, socialising, talking and with a huge growth in confidence. I absolutely love this nursery. The staff have all the time in the world for you, the activities and the way they are communicated, are brilliant.

I was very anxious about my little one starting nursery, being born during Covid-19 meant she hadn’t experienced much interaction with others and I was worried about how she would cope. The staff at Queens Baby Nursery went above and beyond in settling her in and making sure she felt safe and secure
when with them. She’s been there about ten months now and has formed such a wonderful bond with all the staff. Her development came on in leaps and bounds and I feel completely relaxed knowing that my little girl is being well looked after and she has flourished in the time she’s been there.

My son went to Queen Baby Nursery first, now my daughter goes there. The manager and staff are first class. They do an absolutely fantastic job with the children that go to the nursery. I would recommend it to any other parents.

My daughter has been completely transformed since attending this amazing nursery! She loves her keyworker and has developed in her motor and speech and languages skills by leaps and bounds.
We are very happy with our choice of nursery and it is really rewarding to see what a difference this nursery

Our son attended from one to two years old and had the best time there. It is a small setting and he quickly got to know all members of staff. The transitions from room to room as he grew, went smoothly. The staff are brilliant, well experienced and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond each
week to think of new themes and activities to engage the children. There are also a number of activities provided by external suppliers, he attended Tuesday - Friday and had baby ballet, baby yoga, and French. The garden was his favourite. They take the kids outside every day no matter the weather and regularly go on outings to the forest or lake.

Debbie Selby

Debbie is an exceptional, experienced manager who gained her NNEB in 1984 and in May 2013 achieved an Early Years Professional Status. Debbie continued training and in July 2013 became a BA in Early Childhood Studies graduate. Debbie’s strong passion for working with children and supporting their development needs is exemplary. Debbie joined the team early in 2019. Debbie thoroughly enjoys supporting the children through their milestones, transition to Queens Nursery, reflecting on the practice within the rooms and being an outstanding role model to the team with her superb mentoring skills. Debbie ensures the nursery is running to an outstanding manner every day.
