Woosehill Day Nursery & Pre-School – Wokingham’s Best Kept Secret Since 1989

Established in 1989 as the first Yellow Brick Nursery, Woosehill Day Nursery & Pre-School is nestled beside tranquil woodland and offers a nurturing environment where children aged 0–5 thrive through creativity, choice, and curiosity.

Woosehill provides a vibrant, inclusive setting that fosters a lifelong love of learning. Practice is guided by child-led principles and reflective approaches, supporting children to explore, express, and grow at their own pace. The environment is enriched with sensory experiences, open-ended resources, and meaningful interactions that promote confidence, wellbeing, and individuality.

Part of the Complete Childcare family, Woosehill offers care for children aged 3 months to 5 years across thoughtfully designed rooms.

The Nest (0–2 years) is a warm, homely space designed to support secure attachments and early development. Cosy corners, sensory-rich materials, and gentle routines nurture emotional wellbeing and encourage communication, movement, and curiosity.

The Woodland (2–5 years) builds on this foundation with open-ended play, outdoor exploration, and opportunities for independence and creativity.

Home-Cooked Meals
Nutritious, home-cooked meals are freshly prepared on site each day by the nursery cook, following relevant nutritional guidelines including sugar-free and salt-free standards. Meals are balanced, wholesome, and tailored to support healthy development.

My daughter has been attending Woosehill since she was 18 months. She loves every minute of it. She’s moved through all 3 rooms and care in each has always been of a really high standard. The activities they do are really well planned out and the recent school preparation she’s started is really thoroughly
planned. The building is quite small but well laid out with a big garden area and mud kitchen. My daughter loves the weekly forest walks. She’s never sad to go to nursery - sometimes she wants to go on the weekends. The management is consistent and has been the same since she started. This was really important to me as a parent.

We have had both our sons go to this nursery, which has only improved since the current nursery manager has taken over. The variety of activities that are available to the children, help them to develop. I am especially pleased that they embrace the local surroundings and do weekly forest school sessions
with the children. They take an active interest in your child's development and will work with you.

We chose Woosehill for the care of our five and a half month old based on the authenticity and enthusiasm of the nursery manager. She evidently cares wholeheartedly for the setting, staff and children (who clearly adore her) and makes commendable efforts to ensure every child is nurtured. We felt that
she was someone we could trust and our baby has settled fantastically with his key and room workers. They do so much to involve a younger baby, but also give space when needed. The setting is in a lovely quiet area and has a homely peacefulness to it that also appealed to us. We're content and happy that our baby is sensitively cared for by friendly personable staff.

We are very pleased we moved our son to this nursery. All the staff seems to know my son at the nursery and he loves attending. He has plenty of opportunities to play indoor and outside too. They also have animals at the nursery which he loves. The online report we receive throughout the day about our
son is informative and reassuring. We love that he gets to go to the park and on his woodland walks. The staff are all friendly, approachable and respond to queries in a timely, knowledgeable and professional manner. They are vigilant about answering the front door to anyone they don’t know and check with colleagues to identify parents or carers, which we feel are excellent standards to uphold. We are really happy with the nursery and all their hard-working staff - thank you for all you do.

My little boy started here at 14-months-old, and we are amazed to see how soon and how well he settled in there. He goes in and comes out so happy. Staff are wonderful; they actually care for him and do things with him. They are open to feedback and responds promptly. I love the way they brief me about
him at the end of each morning. They even helped me on a bit which was not directly related to nursery life. I cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you all there.

We are new to Woosehill Day Nursery, but immediately felt welcomed. The ethos of the nursery is wonderful. The children spend so much time outdoors. The staff seem caring, kind and supportive. The communication from the management team is clear and often. So far we all love it!

My 2 boys love it here. The staff really care about them. The manager is great and all the kids love her. The physical setting is really nice as it's secure but backs into the woods. I would definitely recommend.

Our boy loves this nursery and the staff there, he's always happy and tells us stories about his days at nursery. The staff are super fantastic with his learning development due to his hearing impairment; they are so supportive and committed. They even learned to sign language for him; it means a lot
to us as deaf parents! The nursery has been hugely part of our boys' lives since 2014, and we look forward to another four years with his younger brother joining in soon.

Both my children have thrived and thoroughly enjoyed their time at Woosehill Day Nursery. The nursery provides engaging activities with lots of time spent exploring the outdoors and a nurturing environment for learning. My child is very fond of the staff members at the nursery and looks forward to
going to nursery every day. From a parent perspective, I am confident in the staff and management at the nursery to support my child's needs and well being and encourage them to talk about their feelings and maintain a safe environment in which they can grow and learn.

My daughter loves coming here every day. There are so many activities to keep her busy and she comes home tired and happy most evenings. She loves her carers and during her time at the nursery has learned and come on so much.

My daughter has attended Woosehill Day Nursery for just over a year now, and she is thriving, and as a parent who sees her at weekends only, I can notice the difference. My daughter loves the outdoors and the children go to forest school once a week so this benefits her massively and she gets so much

My daughter started here in September after we moved her from a different setting that wasn't working for her. She absolutely loves it. She is always happy to go in and never wants to leave. My daughter has attended this nursery for a couple of years and it has gone from strength to strength during this time. My child loves going to the nursery and enjoys all the activities. They take them outdoors a lot which is great and the weekly 'forest walks' make the most of the surrounding woodland.
They have recently started to publish a weekly newsletter for parents so you know what your child will be learning in the coming week which is great. I love that they've recently reviewed the menu and incorporated healthier and plant-based options. My son has just started at the nursery and they have been incredibly accommodating in helping manage his eczema and food allergies.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for 2 years. She loves it there!
They have been brilliant at managing her allergies and adapted easily with new information.
She has developed brilliantly whilst there, physically, mentally and emotionally.
The team always respond well to comments and feedback
and are very open to discussion.
As a family, we are really fond of all the staff and my daughter's friends.

The nursery has provided a good childcare overall, however, we'd wish the cleanliness of the nursery could be better. Also, on the Parentzone App, it would be nice to have regular updates on their activities, so the parents can get an idea what their child has been learning in the nursery, currently
we only get daily updates on what my child has eaten all day.

Lots of varied activities, space to run around outside, good food. The best part I think is the staff as they are all so kind and patient with the children. There are a few in particular who are excellent and definitely in the right job.

Every day children do different and interesting activities, which really contribute to their development.
Staff is very friendly and give feedback on what your child has been doing on a daily basis. In addition to that, the nursery uses a Parent Portal from where we can see photos and information
of meals and sleep.
They promote activities for the children and families to take part.
I strongly recommend this nursery.

My children have been attending Woosehill for 2 months. I totally trust them with my children and they are great at planning activities and keeping their attention. Both of my children are very happy at Woosehill and their learning has improved since they started. The staff make you feel like family
which really helps when leaving your children with them all day.

With around 12 years in the education sector, ranging from 3 months to 18 years. I have a background degree in Education Studies. I bring experience from across the different sectors to my role as Deputy Nursery Manager.


I specialise in Early Years education, focusing on emotional well-being and creating a welcoming environment, working closely with each child, parent and staff member, ensuring we are meeting each and every need.


My leadership style is very caring and understanding towards all children, parents and the staff within the nursery, making sure everyone feels valued and supported.
