Woosehill Day Nursery & Pre-School – Wokingham’s Best Kept Secret Since 1989

Established in 1989 as the first Yellow Brick Nursery, Woosehill Day Nursery & Pre-School is nestled beside tranquil woodland and offers a nurturing environment where children aged 0–5 thrive through creativity, choice, and curiosity.

Woosehill provides a vibrant, inclusive setting that fosters a lifelong love of learning. Practice is guided by child-led principles and reflective approaches, supporting children to explore, express, and grow at their own pace. The environment is enriched with sensory experiences, open-ended resources, and meaningful interactions that promote confidence, wellbeing, and individuality.

Part of the Complete Childcare family, Woosehill offers care for children aged 3 months to 5 years across thoughtfully designed rooms.

The Nest (0–2 years) is a warm, homely space designed to support secure attachments and early development. Cosy corners, sensory-rich materials, and gentle routines nurture emotional wellbeing and encourage communication, movement, and curiosity.

The Woodland (2–5 years) builds on this foundation with open-ended play, outdoor exploration, and opportunities for independence and creativity.

Home-Cooked Meals
Nutritious, home-cooked meals are freshly prepared on site each day by the nursery cook, following relevant nutritional guidelines including sugar-free and salt-free standards. Meals are balanced, wholesome, and tailored to support healthy development.

The nursery environment is bright, safe, and stimulating, filled with age-appropriate learning materials and beautifully maintained play areas both indoors and outdoors. Our child comes home every day excited to tell us about the fun activities they've done - from creative arts and crafts to outdoor
exploration and early literacy games. It's clear that the staff put a lot of thought into making learning enjoyable and meaningful. Communication with parents is excellent. We receive regular updates, photos, and progress reports, which give us real insight into our child's development. The staff are always approachable and happy to discuss any questions or concerns. Most importantly, our child absolutely loves going to Woosehill Day Nursery and has grown in confidence, independence, and social skills since joining. We couldn't be happier with the care and education provided - it truly feels like a second home. I would highly recommend Woosehill day nursery.

My son joined the nursery at 11 months old. He is now 3 years old. He has a great relationship with not only his key worker but also all the staff. The Manager Nathan is amazing and I couldn't fault him. The creative play and motor skills learning is great, my son always comes home telling me about
his day and the learning he has done. One of the reasons this nursery was also a choice of ours was for the lovely woodland space it is in, and that is surrounded by areas for the children to enjoy.

Our son absolutely loves his time at Woosehill Day Nursery. All the staff are incredibly caring and really take a genuine interest in the children. They seem to do lots of activities each day to help them develop and learn, from things designed to help their fine motor skills, through to learning numbers
and letters. They have also been very supportive of any individual developmental needs, from our Son's first steps and words, through to potty training.
Whilst it is expensive, that is a reflection on the wider group and nurseries in general, not the fault of this individual nursery.

Both my children have attended Woosehill Nursery and love it. The staff there all take the time to get to know the children (not just their keyworkers) as individuals, building genuine relationships and sharing joy in their achievements big and small. One of the reasons we chose the nursery was for
its setting as our kids love the garden and woodland walks, as well as the opportunity to interact across the age groups. We were also very pleased at how prepared our eldest was for school, both in terms of wanting to continue learning but also socially to meet and make new friends.

My son and daughter have now been to this nursery and the best thing about it is the staff. I can not find any fault with them at all. Considering the huge amount we pay, I find it amazing no toys/ equipment replaced. The staff create brilliant activities with what they have and the children love it
BUT I think more should be given to this nursery to improve it.

Both my children have attended Woosehill Day Nursery and have been very happy. My youngest is in The Nest (baby room). The staff there are extremely kind, caring, and positive. They all seem happy at work. The children have a wide range of foods and activities including plenty of outdoor play in the
special baby garden. There is also air con which is brilliant for naps when it is hot. My child is very happy and well looked after.

Woosehill Day Nursery is a wonderful nursery. My son started aged 1 during the pandemic and I was amazed at how well he settled. Full credit goes to the amazing staff who truly provide a loving, caring and fun environment for all the children. The nursery really has a homely feel and I love that the
children spend a lot of time playing outside, be it on their woodland walks, or in the nursery's garden which has amazing shade throughout the day in summer.
My boy loves going to nursery and I'm so grateful to the staff to have helped him become a confident, sociable boy who is now ready to start school in September.
I highly recommend this nursery!

Our son has been attending Woosehill Day Nursery since he was 10 months old upon my return to work. He has settled in so well and really enjoys his time there. The team are welcoming and nurturing, and they communicate really well with parents. We particularly love the 'no bad weather, just bad clothes'
approach to letting the children play outside - this means he gets plenty of fresh air and can roam happily. The more structured activities set up by staff are also brilliant for his development, and it's lovely to have updates on what he's been doing via the app. We would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a 'home from home' environment for their child - while the building itself isn't state of the art or ultra-modern, the wonderful staff and atmosphere they create cannot be faulted.

My daughter started Woosehill Day Nursery at twelve months old and we have been very happy at how well she has settled in. She enjoys the activities such as playing outside, woodland walks, singing and reading. We can see the improvements she has been making with her learning and speech. She is encouraged
to develop and explore through playing.
We receive regular photos and observations sent to us via the app. They are good at dealing with allergies and my little girl thinks the food is great too. The nursery also organises fun family events throughout the year which is a great opportunity for us to meet with the key workers and other families. The staff are all friendly and doing a great job.
Overall we think this is a great nursery, providing a safe and welcoming environment for little ones.

The staff at Woosehill Day Nursery are amazing. Since the beginning of our journey, the staff put my mind at ease leaving my then 9 month old in their care to go back to work. I have two sons who have been at Woosehill Day Nursery since January 2022. One in the Nest and one in the Meadows.
They have both grown in so many ways since they started; it's wonderful to see how confident and happy they both are there. Each day they are excited to get to the nursery to play and
interact with the other children and staff.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and their key workers have helped to set goals for both of them to challenge them and help them improve various skills.
They get a lot of time outside to play and sometimes explore the surrounding area on walks and activities.

Woosehill Day Nursery provides a family-style environment where each member of staff knows the children well. They try hard to create a variety of activities and respond accordingly to the children's preferences. Our child has an incredibly experienced and reliable key worker who knows the balance between

My daughter joined Woosehill Day Nursery in The Nest in May 2022 at 10 months old. She has settled so well and is always so excited to go inside. Her key worker has clearly built a strong relationship with her, but she also loves all the other staff too. She loves playing outside and has the opportunity
to play with sand and water regularly. It's lovely to see how happy she is and to see regular updates with photos as she learns new skills.

I am so happy that this is the nursery we chose for our daughter. My daughter started in the Nest room two months ago and she is thriving. She adores the staff and has formed excellent relationships with the team in the Nest. We are very well informed on how her day is going and on her developmental
journey. I feel reassured every day that my daughter is getting the best care and seeing the smile on her face every morning when we pull up reconfirms that.
There is a wide range of activities for the children to take part in daily and with the app we are updated on everything from naps to what she has eaten and daily photographs on what new observations the team have made.
I would 100% recommend this as a nursery for anyone looking to place their children in a safe and welcoming environment. Thank you to the whole team for all that you do.

This is an excellent nursery with wonderful staff - my child started at nursery in The Nest room for younger children in March 2021 being just over 9 months old. Both the management team and the staff have been involved from day one in keeping us informed, making sure we are happy with our child's progress
and sending us daily updates through the app. Our child is very well looked after, loved by the team and encouraged to grow and has formed such strong bonds with all the staff even though it has only been a few months. They have supported us as parents too with anything we needed in that time and always keep us updated with a weekly newsletter on what is happening the following week in each room of the nursery. It really is a home away from home for our child and we couldn't ask for more.

My daughter started in the baby room at one year old and has been at the Woosehill Day nursery until she finished the pre-school room at age four. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time at the nursery and she built very strong relationships with the staff and her peers. The nursery has a lovely, warm and
inviting culture and provides a truly wonderful environment, where children have great contact with nature, lots of outdoor activities including forest school, cooking school, and lots of different creative activities that are appropriate to their age. The manager and her staff are committed, so nurturing and supportive and they provide children with so much care, attention and positivity. As a parent, I always felt supported and well informed about my daughter's day in the nursery. I wholeheartedly recommend The Woosehill Day nursery, as a place where my daughter felt happy and safe.
