Kingsclere Day Nursery

My boys have thrived at Kingsclere! They happily run in every day and have been happy there since the start. The staff have cared for them, showing kindness and love, whilst encouraging their development and learning through play. I will be very sad to leave when my boys graduate later this year but they will be very prepared for school.

The staff at Kingsclere are responsive, gentle, child-focused, and creative. I have ultimate trust in them to nurture my child and support her growth with kindness and consideration.

Our daughter has been at Kingsclere since February 2023 and loves going to nursery. She has built such lovely bonds with all the staff and has transitioned easily when moving rooms. We love the homely feel of the setting and find that all of the staff are welcoming and approachable. We get updates throughout the day and our daughter's speech and development has come on leaps and bounds. There is always lots of different activities going on, events we can attend and our daughter is always talking about what she's been up to at nursery. We're very happy with our choice to send her to Kingsclere.

My son started beginning of summer in 2024 and I was so anxious about him starting full time since he has been born prematurely. But I had nothing to worry about! He absolutely loves it. All the staff are so attentive and can see they really do care about the kids. The activities that they run are brilliant and my son never comes home hungry! Always with a smile on his face when I pick him up. I couldn't be happier with sending my son to this nursery.

The nursery has recently received an Ofsted review earlier in the year which stated 'INADEQUATE'. They have now received a new Ofsted report which states 'GOOD' and I completely agree with the most recent review. The nursery manager and the team have done a great job in helping transform the small adjustments that were needed. My son is currently in the NEST and I can see that he is doing really well. Two staff members in particular are amazing and I can not fault their dedication to the children. The staff at the nursery have worked incredibly hard over the last few months and the differences show. A lovely, warm and friendly place which I would recommend to friends and family.

All the staff at Kingsclere have been really welcoming and supportive. They do lovely activities at Kingsclere and my daughter really enjoys going there! We really like the updates each day with pictures of what they have done and the food she has eaten throughout the day!

Our daughter has been at Kingsclere for the last nine months. She has settled in well and formed a lovely bond with her key worker. There has been a noticeable improvement in the planning and communication of the fun activities at the nursery under the new manager. We love seeing the daily updates and photos on the app when she attends.

Our daughter has been at Kingsclere for five months and settled really quickly. Her key workers have been excellent and supported our daughter through her development. We have loved seeing the photos come through of her during the day so we can see what exciting activities she has been up to. I would highly recommend this nursery to friends and family.

The consistency of the key worker and buddy system in place has helped to settle her in quickly and we love seeing her photo updates where she is smiling and joining in fun activities.

This used to be such a great family-feel nursery but sadly this year it has all changed. The manager left and we noticed an immediate decline in the care and learning of our child. The Ofsted report is sadly accurate and the action plan the nursery offered afterwards was poor. The new manager has been very slow to make any changes and communication has deteriorated as she fails to respond to emails or messages on the app. A lot of great staff members have left this year and lots of temps used. Fridays have been a particular issue with instances where I haven’t recognised a single staff member due to the number of temps working. It’s such a shame this brilliant nursery has turned.

My son has been at Kingsclere Day Nursery for a year now and I am incredibly grateful that my son attends nursery here. The staff are wonderful and my son has created close bonds with all of the staff, especially his keyworker, whom he adores. His development since being at Kingsclere has been amazing to see and I absolutely love noticing the things that I know he has learnt at nursery specifically. Kingsclere have been so helpful with supporting us as a family working through conflict resolution techniques to help develop my son's language around emotions. He feels things very deeply and this has been hugely helpful in understanding my son's needs better. We feel so grateful that his keyworker and the staff at Kingsclere have supported us with this as not only has it brought on my son's speech more generally, he is very empathetic to other children now he understands his own emotions - something that is so beautiful to see.

The new manager is excellent and committed to helping the nursery with its mission to continue to improve its practice.

My son has been at Kingsclere Day Nursery for 4 months now and I've been really pleased with the level of care he's receiving. The app is fantastic for updating us on what he's been up to with pictures, as well as details of what he's eaten, nappy changes and naps but even with all that information we still get a really personal and detailed handover at the end of the day by whoever brings him out. In addition, no matter what member of staff takes him in the morning, he gets greeted with a huge smile, how are you, asking him about whatever little trinket he's decided to bring in for that day. To me this really personal, warm and consistent level of interaction is what makes this nursery stand out above others. The manager is also involved in drops offs and pick ups and is really friendly and approachable. My son is also baking most weeks and has come on leaps and bounds with speech, and understanding numbers and shapes. In summary, we're having a great experience with Kingsclere Day Nursery.

Kingsclere Day Nursery has been a wonderful nursery for our daughter. The staff are caring and provide excellent activities and enjoyable days for the children. We would recommend Kingsclere Day Nursery to any of our friends as a fantastic choice for early years care.

Our little boy has had no problems settling into Kingsclere. Staff are genuinely interested in children’s well-being and their development. It is more of a family atmosphere and I would highly recommend them.

I couldn’t be happier with Kingsclere Day Nursery. My son absolutely loves his time there and will be sad to leave for big school in September. I can’t fault the preschool in terms of care and the way they teach the children and always ensure they have new and exciting activities to do each day! I’ve already put my younger sons name down for next year in the hope he’s lucky enough to get a place and have the same amazing experience as his brother. Thank you to all the amazing staff there.

Our first daughter left Kingsclere to start school 3 years ago and we have just returned again with our next daughter as we loved it so much and I’m so pleased that we have! Our daughter has settled in amazingly and every day is so exciting and happy to go to nursery. The small numbers of the setting was perfect for us and makes it feel more personal and like a family; not just another child amongst many already there! I feel positive that she is getting the best care and attention and this is backed up by how happy she is. We are always met personally with a smiling happy face by staff which helps with the transition a great deal. I can’t recommend Kingsclere highly enough, especially if you are looking for a smaller, calmer and personal setting for your child.
