She developed brilliantly there - particularly her confidence and speech. The support for parents was great - regular parents evenings for updates, consistent communication with the key worker, help potty training.
She genuinely looked forward to going to nursery and made great friends with both her age group and the nursery staff.
We relocated to Reading in January of this year and the team at Farm View have been a key part of settling my son into his new home. Such a strong team and the setting compliments the nursery’s approach to the children’s early years. The team support both me and my son and offer support and guidance when needed.
The staff in the baby room are absolutely fantastic. My son loves to come to nursery. He loves playing with the different variety of toys in the room. He loves to go out in the garden to explore things such as the story shed and the music wall. He also loves playing in the toddler side garden in the cars and the Wendy house. The staff hold a range of activities that are fun and educational, and I have seen a massive improvement in my son's development. I asked the team for a copy of snack, lunch and tea menus so I can keep track of what he has in the day and the staff were more than happy to give me a copy of all the menus and have said they will alert me to changes to the menus. The staff are incredibly helpful to any question, queries and concerns I may have about my son's attendance to Farm view day nursery. I couldn’t praise the nursery enough, and believe it’s the best setting for my son to go to.
Great staff, passionate and caring. Can't fault the staff in any way.
The nursery itself needs a refurb, looks very out of date, better equipment and more choice for the children. Parents evenings would be a good addition and classes such as languages and sports. Food is good but more vegetable choice would be good. A menu of snacks and tea would be useful so we know what the children will be having.
The outdoor area needs to be made safer, lots of uneven grass. Equipment is dirty and old. New equipment required.
We chose Farm View nursery for our child purely for the staff, they are kind, caring and work hard to ensure the children have a great time. The events are great, offering something a little extra which creates a real belonging for the children and their families.
Finding the right staff to look after our child was most important and because of this we overlooked some areas we would love to see improved which will bring the standards up to other local nurseries. It really doesn't match up to other nurseries in the area on appearance/equipment and up to date systems.
- New astro area so children can play safely all year round.
- Bringing in specialist to offer mini football/Spanish/dance/yoga
- More technology - Giant tablet tables/screens to be used as an educational resource.
- New, interactive equipment children don't have at home
If the nursery could improve/revamp the rooms and equipment to be as fantastic as the staff this would be an outstanding nursery!
Our son has been at Farm View for a year now. We’re very happy with the nursery. We love the large garden and the activities they do for events like Halloween. The staff are always very happy and positive and they really take the time to develop a relationship with the children and their parents.
Farm View Day Nursery is such a fantastic find for my son. He only attends once per week so I was worried that he wouldn’t settle in and become familiar with the nursery setting but Farm View have gone above and beyond to make my son's day special every single time he attends. He comes home so happy (and exhausted!) with his paintings in hand and the staff make such an effort to keep each day diverse. Farm View can always tell me how much he’s eaten, how much he napped and whether he got involved in group activities. The staff are excited to see him on a Thursday and make me feel so comfortable leaving him for the day. I can’t rate this nursery highly enough- the entire staff are a testament to the outstanding care my son receives.
Farm View is an excellent nursery, our son has been attending since he was 10 months old, he is now 3 and a half. The nursery has a real family feel to it, all the staff are really friendly and clearly have a good relationship with all the children there. I’m due to go back to work in a couple of months after being on maternity leave and feel so reassured that my daughter will be joining Farm View. It’s a tough choice and a tough transition choosing a nursery, I’m so glad we found farm view.
I walked in and instantly loved this nursery for my child. The staff are professional and extremely caring and made the whole family feel at ease. They place a lot of effort into the activities they do with the children. I feel that my daughter has a great time doing varied things when she is there. They place a lot of emphasis on consistency and everyone is familiar - her key worker is very dedicated.
We have used Farm View Nursery for our two children for almost two years and we couldn't have been more pleased. The staff are friendly, professional and take time to build a relationship with each child and the parents. Our son who has just left the nursery to go to school has transformed in his time at nursery from being quiet and shy to having loads of confidence and I know that his environment and the way Farm View nurtures children has had a big part to play.
Her social skills have blossomed and she is excited to go. The variety of activities and learning experiences are evident at home; dancing, singing, sensory (bubble machine a must) colouring and messy play. She loves her time at nursery which makes us happy and thrilled that we have a great relationship with the nursery team.
My son and daughter started here in August, my son in the Baby room my daughter in the Pre-school room. Both were very nervous when starting but staff are absolutely brilliant in getting them settled and feeling relaxed in their new environment.
My daughter is a fussy eater but with help and encouragement from the staff and other children within the class, she is coming on leaps and bounds.
To find out that after both my son and daughter started they got outstanding on their Ofsted report - I could not be happier with the day nursery and the staff.
My daughter has attended the nursery since she was 7months old. She settled into the nursery very well and the staff gave my husband and I the confidence to leave our daughter. The learning at the nursery is excellent and my daughter, who nearly two, is learning very well and is always coming home with a new word that she's learnt. My daughter is exceeding her milestones and her social and physical skills are developing very well.
The fact that this nursery has recently received an outstanding Ofsted review really says it all.
My son started at Farm View in June 2016. He loves his time at the nursery and all the staff are very welcoming and attentive to his needs. He loves his key person and they have a special bond. All staff communicate very well with parents and the nursery spaces (indoors and outdoors) are superb. I would not want my child to go anywhere else.
Our son started at this nursery in March 2016. With the help of the staff he has settled in really well and he clearly enjoys his time there. He is only 10 months old so I was worried that he would find this change upsetting (going from spending all day with mummy to being at nursery all day) but in fact he didn't even cry the first time I left him. He loves watching all the other children play and is coming on leaps and bounds in his development.
My little girl started at the nursery 1 day a week in February. I picked this nursery because I liked the homely feel it gave, rather than like a 'school' of other nurseries I visited and she seemed to take to this nursery more than the others. I liked the fact it was a small one off nursery and not a chain. It had also recently been refurbished so was very clean. The staff were also very nice and I liked the outdoor area as my little girl loves being outside. They also have some horses in the fields they can see. Its a lovely secluded location too. It is a bit more pricey than some but I decided I would rather pay the extra and my little girl be happy than be in a large open plan nursery where I didn't think she would enjoy as much! I have recommended this nursery to 2 other friends who have just looked round and are now moving their children to this nursery as of May.
The nursery has a very nice feel about it.
I have 2 children at the nursery and have been sending then there since July 2012. I have always found that staff to be happy, caring and supportive. My children have both seemed very happy and settled from the beginning and I think that this is because of the strong relationship that they have built with the staff. The recent refurbishment has really improved the facilities.
Very caring and friendly staff, excellent communication with parents. I feel totally confident that my children are being very well looked after and nurtured. They are both flourishing and enjoy their time at Farm View Day Nursery. New buildings are superb and now match the quality of the staff. Can't speak highly enough about this place and so pleased my children attend.

Angela is excited about being the Manager of this Nursery, and her passion is good quality education and helping children to reach their full potential before going to school.
Photo coming soon.
I gained my Diploma in Childcare in 2008 and have worked in different settings with a variety of age groups, ever since. One of these was a Swiss nursery, which I found very interesting and a lot of fun. I have been a team member at Farm View since 2013 and enjoy working with the team and the children.
I enjoy providing creative activities for the children and I believe that if you aren't messy then you're not exploring the activity to the fullest!! I aim for the children in my care to have as much fun as possible and love to be able to provide them with many learning opportunities along the way.
