Farm View Day Nursery provides a calm and natural learning environment for all children to thrive. They know you want the best for your child. Perfectly placed in the picturesque and peaceful countryside of Spencers Wood, the nursery is situated amongst natural green spaces that maximise outdoor learning. The team provide full-time care within a caring, secure and happy environment in which children can flourish socially, physically and emotionally.

The nursery is fully equipped with five age-appropriate rooms that offer care for children between the ages of 8 weeks to 5 years old. Each room is thoughtfully designed, and equipped with learning resources that encourage age-appropriate development and learning.

The loyal and highly experienced team provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore their interests, from arts and crafts to sensory play and phonics. Plus, with unrivalled natural outdoor space and farmland right on the doorstep, they can discover the wonders of nature too!

This nursery is incredibly caring and provides the most wonderful fun activities. My children both love going and their interactions and relationships with the staff and other children are brilliant. We also feel confident and happy leaving our children in their care. They’ve dealt with the current

My daughter has been at Farm View since she was 9 months old. I can honestly say she loves it!
I always feel so happy leaving her because I know that she is safe, happy, fulfilled, well fed and well rested.
The staff are all superb, friendly and conscientious.
I couldn’t recommend this setting more.

Our son has been attending Farm View for nearly three years having started at a year old and now being in the preschool room (about to leave for school).
Throughout his time at Farm View, all the staff across different rooms have been supportive. From nap schedules to toilet training and school readiness.
At times when he has been upset or reluctant to go into nursery (just phases when changing rooms) the staff have helped with ideas to ease the transition.
At the end of each day, our son comes out happy and telling us all about his brilliant day.

Wise Owls have been great with helping my son along with his development. As a late walker, they really encouraged him to get on his feet and get moving. Recently, I've noticed him starting to "sing songs", which I know he enjoys with them there. I feel his time there so far has been very beneficial
to his development in general. Plus the staff are all very lovely and welcoming. They welcome him warmly by name every morning and are very happy to chat at handover about any issues, concerns or, indeed, milestones or positives on either side.

I always wanted my daughter to go to Farm View Nursery after hearing so highly about it from my friends around. So when I got a place for my daughter, I was really excited. Now that she has started going to this nursery I can see a massive change in her with regards to her daily activities like expressing
herself, actions on rhymes, eating on her own and very friendly with our friends and family. Its been just two months and wonderful things are happening. After working for long hours, coming back to this place and seeing your child happy is bliss and makes life so much easy with such understanding key workers who are really working hard and are ever smiling. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in Farmview Nursery for supporting us and making our little stars shine bright.

We love Farm View Nursery. All the staff are brilliant. Being a first time mum and leaving a 6-month-old baby a couple of days a week was very emotional, however with the knowledge that my son is in great hands and seems to have such a fun time it made it so much easier. The home visit and settling
in was the great start we needed to get used to this transition. I love getting little updates each day my son attends nursery and every member of staff in the baby room is great with providing this information. I feel all the staff have a real interest in providing the best care and are fully engaged, it’s a lovely relaxed setting. Our son has been at Farm View Nursery for 3 months and I think it has been great for his development. We couldn't be happier with our choice of nursery and will highly recommend Farm View to all our friends. Thank you to all the staff for the wonderful work you do. It's greatly appreciated.

My children have not long started Wise Owls, we couldn’t be happier with how the staff have helped our children settle and me! They seem to be hugely aware of how parents feel dropping off their children for the first time and the anxiety around that.
Nothing seems too much trouble, they go out of
their way to support the children also.
They’ve gone out of their way also to research a rare syndrome my child has, which I was slightly overwhelmed by.
We are so happy with the choice of Wise Owls for my children, they’re beyond happy and look forward to going each day. They’ve settled without any problems what so ever and that says everything to me.

My older two went here and loved it, my youngest has taken a while to settle in but the staff have been patient and kind on drop-offs and giving him lots of cuddles and attention. Lovely safe environment with a nice outdoor space!

A big thank you to the wonderful team at Farmview who have made the first couple months of nursery for the child I nanny a very easy and happy time. The ladies upstairs have been absolutely wonderful and really helped us with a smooth transition. There is a warm, kind and loving feeling in the room
which, for me, is the real difference between this nursery and others we have visited. Thank you for being so attentive, giving him cuddles and love when he wobbled and teaching him good skills and manners already.

We feel very lucky that our daughter has a place at Farm View. She has settled well, the groups are small and the children enjoy lots of fresh air and appropriate activities. We always feel our child is well cared for, her needs are met with compassion and the staff know her well. My daughter enjoys
most of the meals on offer, especially the teas which a member of staff in the nursery makes. Worries are dealt with swiftly and the manager is excellent. I was very grateful for the home visit we had, prior to settling in because this made us feel as if we could handover information without feeling rushed. We fully recommend the nursery to our family and friends.

My daughter attended Farm View from 6 months to nearly 3 years old and it is a fantastic nursery.
She developed brilliantly there - particularly her confidence and speech. The support for parents was great - regular parents evenings for updates, consistent communication with the key worker, help potty
training.
She genuinely looked forward to going to nursery and made great friends with both her age group and the nursery staff.

We relocated to Reading in January of this year and the team at Farm View have been a key part of settling my son into his new home. Such a strong team and the setting compliments the nursery’s approach to the children’s early years. The team support both me and my son and offer support and guidance

The staff in the baby room are absolutely fantastic. My son loves to come to nursery. He loves playing with the different variety of toys in the room. He loves to go out in the garden to explore things such as the story shed and the music wall. He also loves playing in the toddler side garden in the
cars and the Wendy house. The staff hold a range of activities that are fun and educational, and I have seen a massive improvement in my son's development. I asked the team for a copy of snack, lunch and tea menus so I can keep track of what he has in the day and the staff were more than happy to give me a copy of all the menus and have said they will alert me to changes to the menus. The staff are incredibly helpful to any question, queries and concerns I may have about my son's attendance to Farm view day nursery. I couldn’t praise the nursery enough, and believe it’s the best setting for my son to go to.

Great staff, passionate and caring. Can't fault the staff in any way.


The nursery itself needs a refurb, looks very out of date, better equipment and more choice for the children. Parents evenings would be a good addition and classes such as languages and sports. Food is good but more vegetable

choice would be good. A menu of snacks and tea would be useful so we know what the children will be having.


The outdoor area needs to be made safer, lots of uneven grass. Equipment is dirty and old. New equipment required.

We chose Farm View nursery for our child purely for the staff, they are kind, caring and work hard to ensure the children have a great time. The events are great, offering something a little extra which creates a real belonging for the children and their families.


Finding the right staff to look

after our child was most important and because of this we overlooked some areas we would love to see improved which will bring the standards up to other local nurseries. It really doesn't match up to other nurseries in the area on appearance/equipment and up to date systems.


Required:
- New astro area so children can play safely all year round.
- Bringing in specialist to offer mini football/Spanish/dance/yoga
- More technology - Giant tablet tables/screens to be used as an educational resource.
- New, interactive equipment children don't have at home


If the nursery could improve/revamp the rooms and equipment to be as fantastic as the staff this would be an outstanding nursery!

Our son has been at Farm View for a year now. We’re very happy with the nursery. We love the large garden and the activities they do for events like Halloween. The staff are always very happy and positive and they really take the time to develop a relationship with the children and their parents.

Angela Pinches

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2025

Angela has been a qualified nursery nurse for 34 years. She has worked in day nursery settings, after-school clubs and for over 18 years in the NHS, from preterm babies up to 11 years of age. She is a mum of 2 daughters and has 3 grandchildren whom she loves to spend time with.


Angela is excited about being the Manager of this Nursery, and her passion is good quality education and helping children to reach their full potential before going to school.

I gained my Diploma in Childcare in 2008 and have worked in different settings with a variety of age groups, ever since. One of these was a Swiss nursery, which I found very interesting and a lot of fun. I have been a team member at Farm View since 2013 and enjoy working with the team and the children.


I enjoy providing creative activities for the children and I believe that if you aren't messy then you're not exploring the activity to the fullest!! I aim for the children in my care to have as much fun as possible and love to be able to provide them with many learning opportunities along the way.
