Woodlands Day Nursery (Barnet)

Our daughter had attended two nurseries in the past and both did not sit well with her. We became very disillusioned and anxious about whether we would find an ideal setting for our daughter. We found Woodlands by chance and have been so happy with all the care, love and attention shown towards our daughter. The staff are amazing in every way possible and our daughter feels totally at home there. Would definitely recommend this nursery to everyone.

Woodlands nursery is exceptional, all the staff that work at the nursery are very good at looking after the children and making sure that all parents feel reassured, especially when sending your child to the nursery for the first time. They do communicate very well via email. They have all been very understanding of all situations, changes in schedule and provide me with all the support I need - becoming a single mother, for example.

My 2-year-old started at nursery for the first time in August 2020 - I couldn’t visit the nursery beforehand due to the pandemic and was quite anxious initially, but the staff have been very comforting, and she has settled beautifully. In fact, she asks to go to the nursery and missed the staff members when we had to self-isolate recently! The nursery has been accommodative with us being keyworkers during these difficult times. I have no hesitation to recommend the nursery to parents looking for a good place for their kids!

My son joined Woodlands Day Nursery just before his 2nd birthday in September 2019. Every morning when we enter the nursery, the happy and the energetic faces of the staff gives a very warm welcome and gives an assurance that he is going to have a fun-packed day.

My son has speech delays and it is encouraging to see that the staff work with him to improve his communication. My son is very happy and has made lots of new friends and is able to take part in all the educating activities. The meals are great too and I am ecstatic that my son eats his vegetables and has a varied diet. When I collect my son in the evening, his happy face speaks loud that he has had a great day.

I am very happy with all that my little one has learned and has continued to develop all the skills required, preparing him for pre-school. He is growing into a confident and independent little boy.

Started my daughter really young and was really impressed with the pastoral care. My child loved the nursery and really thrived there. Excellent caring staff so overall recommend this Nursery especially for children joining young.

When we go to collect him at the end of a day, he tries to go back into the nursery! I think that tells you all you need to know! Couldn’t recommend Woodlands enough.

Woodlands is a great nursery. The staff are dedicated and passionate about their work and provide a warm positive environment for the children. The sessions each day are well planned and considered, but leave lots of opportunities for play and creativity. My son was very nervous about returning after lockdown but when I collected him on his first day he was disappointed as he didn’t want to leave. He loves the stimulation and camaraderie of his peers and he is always learning and developing at Woodlands. I can’t rate the staff team highly enough. They are kind, understanding, supportive and professional. They have taken the time to really get to know my son and they treat him like a valued individual.

My daughter had the most amazing time at Woodlands. The staff are so caring and lovely. They helped her develop the skills she needs for school so well. They have everything a child needs at the nursery, which meant that we could leave her there and not worry while getting on with work. The only thing to say is thank you so much to all the staff, especially her lovely key workers who I won’t name on here but they were amazing. Thanks so much.

I would continue to recommend them to friends that require childcare that feels like family care away from home.

We are very thankful for all the nursery support and teachings. The change in my son since the beginning of joining nursery is huge. We will definitely send our little girl to the nursery when everything is getting back to normal.

I have been very happy with Woodlands Nursery, which my sons have attended over the past 3-years. The nursery is very well run, and the standard of care is excellent. The preschool room offers the children lots of stimulating activities, and the staff have been great at communicating what my son has been up to during the day, which is lovely to follow as a working mum. My partner and I are very happy with the way Woodlands has handled the coronavirus. All the measures they have put into place are sensible and reassuring. Our daughter returned to the preschool room last week after 3 months away and settled back in straight away with no problems. She absolutely loves being back and we can't thank you enough for the genuine care and attention she receives.

Wonderful setting and fabulous facilities but the best asset is the incredibly caring and dedicated staff who have made my son feel so secure and who have supported him growing into such a confident and happy child.

I am also very pleased with how my son's educational needs have been met and happy with the observations/updates I get as a parent.

Very organised and friendly. My daughter loves attending. Very encouraging with toilet training. If ever I need to get my daughter out of the house in the morning; all I need to do is mention nursery, and she smiles and runs to the door. That says it all!

Woodlands Day Nursery (Barnet) is a very welcoming nursery. Staff are friendly, warm and helpful. My daughter loves the staff and all her activities in the nursery. She has adjusted well to the nursery, and it feels very much like a home away from home for her.

They have a lot of interactions every day and my boy is absolutely loving going to nursery because there are so many of his favourite people there.

We have always felt comfortable having honest and open conversations with key workers and the teams across all of the rooms however especially with the pre-school this year. The pre-school team and especially our key worker over the past 3-4 months have supported our daughter immensely with her development and focused on any areas that needed strengthening with targeted activities. We are constantly kept updated of her progress and we have worked collectively as a team with the pre-school team to ensure our daughter achieves her very best. The team (be that senior management to room staff) are always open to talk about our concerns and suggest ways to address them in a positive and reassuring manner. We can definitely see the positive impact this joint effort between nursery and home has had on our daughter.

Woodlands Day Nursery is warm and welcoming. It is a safe and creative place. The outdoor area is brilliant. My child loves water activities and the outdoor place. Excellent pre-school staff, friendly each visit.

I owe it to the staff at Woodlands for their creativity, kindness and caring attitude that my child’s development has increased profoundly since starting so recently. It really is the best environment for our child, and she loves attending Woodlands Day Nursery. We couldn’t be more thankful to the wonderful staff there!
