The nursery’s spacious rooms are light and airy, with toddlers and preschool children enjoying free flow access to the garden. Each room features age-specific resources to pique your child’s natural curiosity, such as loose parts play, home role-play corner, a reading nook, an art station and more. The team focus on children’s wellbeing and confidence, promoting individuality. They use the children’s interests as a basis for planning new activities, with children enjoying music and movement sessions, singing, cooking, dancing and PE. Babies enjoy activities that help develop their muscles and motor skills, and sensory toys that allow them to discover new textures, sights and sounds.

To extend your child’s play and learning beyond the enriching indoor facilities, the nursery in New Southgate has a stunning outdoor space. We are very happy with the nursery overall. The staff are so lovely and kind, and really care about the children and their development. There seems to be extra focus on speech and vocab skills, which is excellent, as well as nutrition with freshly prepared meals.

We are extremely happy with Bright Horizons. My daughter joined when she was one year old. From the time she joined, we have been seeing an amazing transformation in her. She learnt to walk, speak, interact with friends and she learnt to share. I have to really mention that her teachers were a real
support to her. We literally didn't have to worry when she was at nursery. Overall we will recommend to any parent.

I am so pleased with the development of my child whilst attending this nursery. He has come on leaps and bounds and I am confident with him starting in September. The staff are amazing and very tentative to the children. I couldn't be more happy with the service here at the nursery.

Our experience at the nursery has been a wonderful and delightful one. She's our second child attending the nursery and the service and care we've received is the same if not better than 4 years ago. The staff are loving and caring towards not just the children but the parents as well. They have in-depth
knowledge of the families of their students. They are attentive and always on hand to help or assist with any issues. It's a family affair @Bright Horizons, Barnet, we've loved bringing our children here. They've grown in confidence and it's been a great introduction to school. Thank you.

The nursery offers a pleasant, safe environment for the children. For me, the most important thins is for the children to be happy and feel that they are cared for, which is something that characterises Bright Horizons New Southgate Day Nursery and Preschool. All the rooms are very clean and the food
menu offered is healthy and balanced. Management and staff are always happy to help and they are looking at children's development and share their observations with parents. On the other hand, the outside space and garden could be bigger and more activities could take place outside. I would also like to see a weekly schedule with activities which take place.

This is a lovely place, all of the staff members are always smiley and kind. I have visited 3 different places and this is the best. My daughter loves to be there, she says that the teachers are her friends which speaks for itself for the time she is having there. I'm so grateful that we were part of
this nursery. I recommend it to my neighbours and friends when they want my advice.

I was very nervous about my son joining a nursery, however, when I chose Bright Horizons and came for the first day of settling in, my worries were put to rest. The staff were extremely helpful and calm and really helped my son ease in.
They are always available when I need to get in touch and handle
my queries very professionally. I'm super happy with the care my son gets at this nursery.

This is the best nursery ever. My eldest came here to in 2017. The staff are super. They're caring, understanding and teach the kids their basic life skills. The kids are well fed with nutritious cuisine and come home happy and tired from a great stimulating day. Love it, love it, love it.

The nursery is a lovely place with friendly approachable staff who make you feel your child is happy and safe in their hands and happy as a parent.
The garden needs some life as it has great space but not much to it. The manager is on top of things all the time and is always happy to help and make
things the way you like if possible to please everyone.

My child feels happy to come to the nursery and always talks about the children and staff. I always feel comfortable to leave him here and have great trust in the staff. The chef is amazing, she always cooks lovely food and if my child does not eat, she is always there to help him eat. I am sad he had
to leave and go to school because he loves it here.

Bright Horizons New Southgate is a nursery that I am pleased with when I drop my child. My son attended the nursery from 2013 till 2016 and now my daughter is in the nursery. I feel relaxed that my children are in the right hands. The staff are so lovely and friendly. They are very supportive and give
advice towards the child development. The child learning and development is great because when my son got to school, the teachers were impressed of what he knows.
The management of the nursery are always working to give the parents the best.
Recently, we had a cheese and wine evening with the manager which I see as a great thing.
The environment is welcoming and the activities and resources in the room are good but I don't see more of ICT in the room.
The aroma of the food when I drop my daughter off is amazing and the children love the food.

The nursery and the staff are very good, friendly my daughter has learnt a lot since she started going there. She loves to go to the nursery. There is only one thing missing is more green space, garden.

Tanlyne has been with Bright Horizons for over 10 years, beginning her journey as a nursery nurse and progressing to the current role of Deputy Manager. During this time, she has developed a strong passion for early years education and truly enjoys being part of each child's learning journey.


Tanlyne takes great pride in supporting children as they grow, reach key milestones, and develop into confident little learners. Building strong, trusting relationships with families is also very important to her, and she values the opportunity to work in partnership with parents to give every child the best start in life.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Emily is a passionate and dedicated childcare professional with nine years of experience. She is strongly committed to supporting children’s learning, development, and well-being. With a particular interest in SENCo practice, she strives to create inclusive environments where every child feels valued, understood, and supported to reach their full potential.


She holds a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, a degree in Psychology and Developmental Disorders, and a postgraduate degree in the Psychodynamics of Human Development from birth to death. This academic background enables her to combine hands-on experience with a deep understanding of child development, behaviour, and emotional well-being across the lifespan.


Emily is fully committed to doing her very best to ensure that every child feels safe, loved, and genuinely cared for. Building trusting relationships with children and their families is at the heart of her practice, and she works with compassion and consistency to support each child’s individual needs.
