Firstly, like in all nurseries, a child becomes cheaper as they get older. So they have a policy where when a child turns 3 they charge you the full month at a 2-year-old rate and start the 3-year-old rate from the following month, in our case he was 4 days in the month. Harsh. Then we left and...
Firstly, like in all nurseries, a child becomes cheaper as they get older. So they have a policy where when a child turns 3 they charge you the full month at a 2-year-old rate and start the 3-year-old rate from the following month, in our case he was 4 days in the month. Harsh. Then we left and told to give 2 months notice per their policy and when I said we may only leave temporarily to save money and come back they said we couldn’t because they have a really long waiting list. So when I asked why we have to give 2 months notice if they have a waiting list (and hence no business would be lost) they insisted we still abide. Then despite paying for 6 weeks in advance, they locked the key hob the evening before forcing me to pay the notice even though in their policy (which they’ve always loved referring by the way) it doesn’t say anything about actual payment deadline for the 2 months. We’ve since used childminders, far more flexible, and far more relaxed so I highly recommend them.

We are sorry to hear that having agreed to our Terms & Conditions at the outset, discussed them on two occasions with us during pre-admissions meetings when each of your children was starting with us, you have now expressed your dissatisfaction with them; in particular, in relation to the way we set a deadline for nursery fees to be paid in advance to secure a continued place and do not offer payment holidays as a full time all year round nursery (not a term-time only setting). As you know, we also make concessions towards parents, depending on circumstances. However, like every company in any industry, we need policies and procedures in place to safeguard the nursery setting and have clear guidelines set out with regards to what is expected of us as a service provider and yourself as a customer. We followed these completely in the situation which occurred and were more than happy to meet with you to discuss any clarifications needed. It was unfortunate you were unable to take us up on this.
It is important to add that prior to the issue of notice and you wishing to take the children away for an extended period of time without pay but with a guaranteed place upon your return which unfortunately we could not accommodate, the feedback we had from you and your partner was extremely positive and we are saddened that the matter of finance and accepted T&Cs affected the positive relationship which we had with you, your partner and the children for many years. We always welcomed your presence and your active engagement during various events outside the nursery opening hours too.
We are glad however that we had a chance to provide loving care to your children and see them grow and develop so well over such a long time and we thank you for the opportunity. We will cherish all the good times and your lovely boys will always have a place in our hearts.

Overall Experience
We like that there are a lot of different activities that the kids can learn. All sort of different things that sometimes we don't have the chance to let her try at home.
Also, we like that she can try all sorts of different foods, vegetables and fruits.

Overall we are very happy with this nursery as we came from a chain in Wimbledon which was very expensive. Both I and my husband are genuinely happy leaving both our kids there to be looked after.

We have 2 daughters aged 2 and 4.
They were both settled in very well by the wonderfully caring staff. All the staff members show a genuine care for our girls. They all know them and their individual personalities and needs. Whilst modest in size it is far better than one of the huge baby...
We have 2 daughters aged 2 and 4.
They were both settled in very well by the wonderfully caring staff. All the staff members show a genuine care for our girls. They all know them and their individual personalities and needs. Whilst modest in size it is far better than one of the huge baby factories for this reason.
The facilities and daily activities keep the girls entertained all day and our girls are keen to go each morning. Sometimes even on weekends!!
The girls seem to be stimulated every day and are advancing well in all areas. We are very impressed by the recent child reports and open evening. The staff put a huge amount of effort in on an ongoing basis to make sure their individual needs are catered for.
They also love the food.

We like the rules and gentle discipline that has been instilled in our children and use some of these at home now. Quiet voices. Listening ears, walking feet etc.
Their repertoire of songs is unbelievable.

Sutherland is a wonderful setting for my daughter.
She was settled in well when she first started and thrives in its caring environment. She loves all the staff who each know her and her needs well. She learns, plays, creates and laughs there and is being well prepared for her start at school in September. The outside space is small but they work hard to get the best out of it and my daughter loves being in it.

Our son has improved so so much since starting at Sutherland 3 months ago. It took him a little while to get settled at first but the staff has been amazing with him, bringing him to a younger age room for him to feel more comfortable and settle.

Our son has improved so so much since starting at Sutherland 3 months ago. It took him a little while to get settled at first but the staff has been amazing with him, bringing him to a younger age room for him to feel more comfortable and settle.
He is now very excited to go in the morning, has started speaking shortly after starting there and is coming home with new words a few times per week. Overall, he is a very happy boy.

My son started Sutherland Day Nursery at 14 months and settled very quickly. He moved from the under 2s to the toddler group with ease and quite frequently doesn’t want to come home! This sense of contentment and fun comes from the great staff who have made my son feel welcome, wanted and challenged. I am constantly amazed at the things he has achieved whilst at nursery and I have the utmost trust in the staff and their knowledge of what children at this age need.
