Wonderful nursery - bright and welcoming environment, friendly staff who really care about the children.
Parents were invited into the nursery for a 'valentines' themed event, which was lovely to see the children in their nursery space, and really special (and would like to do again!) - my daughter was so proud to show me around and to have me there. She clearly enjoys it and loves her nursery staff too.
My child is happy and developing well here.
The building and resources are sometimes a little tired / run down. The Covid 19 poster is still by the front door which needs to come down!
We had an incredible time at the Valentines event at nursery. It was lovely to see how proud the kids were of the space and to get shown around by them.
The activities were great and captured their imagination.
Everyone who works there is kind and warm, it's the perfect place for our two boys! Thank you x
Our daughter is incredibly happy here. We chose Excel because it's smaller than some other nurseries and the practitioners know the children really well. Our daughter receives outstanding care every day and has made significant progress towards key milestones since she started.
My son has been attending the nursery since he was 6 months old, he is now 3 and a half and I can honestly say he runs in very enthusiastically every day. He's bonded well with each of his key workers as he's progressed to the various rooms at the nursery, all who have all been incredibly caring, and I know he feels safe and comfortable there. This week the nursery invited parents into the setting to join the children with some Valentines Day themed crafts, it was really special to see how relaxed and comfortable my son was in the space and what a lovely group of children he's made friends with during his time there.
In general communication with the nursery was very good. We were kept informed on progress and any needs that had arisen. The app used by the nursery was good at providing the info and daily updates needed however it was a little clunky to use.
Overall we would thoroughly recommend the nursery.
The staff are loving, kind and professional.
I would recommend this nursery to anyone with young children, it's a lovely place to grow up.
Thank you for all your hard work, in the baby room particularly.
The staff are always very friendly and I feel confident that he is safe.
The children are given varied and balanced meals with special menus for Christmas and Eid.
The children learn about different cultures through activities relating to various festivals across the year, which contributes towards an inclusive and respectful setting.
Staff make the effort to take the preschool children into the garden every day, weather permitting. They play games, have story time and set up sensory, baking, letter and number activities.
In the past there have been phases where communication was patchy and keyworkers changed without us knowing, but there has been a steady improvement.
Space does feel a bit limited, but management have done their best to organise it in a way that provides transitions throughout the day and spaces for different activities.
My son has been at Excel Kids Day Nursery since nine months, he is now turning three years old and is getting ready for preschool. He has truly blossomed during his time at the nursery! Everything from his social skills to his vocabulary have come faster than I imagined. The staff are welcoming to both parents and children and it is easy to address any questions about my son's day to day learning. He is always looking forward to go to nursery and we look forward to seeing how he grows in the next year.
The staff understood the needs of my son. He is sometimes a fussy eater and they managed to make mealtimes fun and encouraged him to eat healthy foods. We didn't attend the nursery for long as we moved area, which was a shame as he made some friends and he was always happy when I collected him. He would keep repeating new words or numbers he had learnt. The staff are friendly and seemed kind and caring, which is important for me, and I felt confident leaving him there.
The Staff have been extremely warm and welcoming. My daughter loves going into nursery everyday. It's difficult to get her to leave at times. The managers and extremely approachable. They helped through very difficult times. My child come home talking about all the exciting things she has done on a daily basis.
Thank you Excel Kids
We've only been with the nursery a short time, but so far we're very pleased. It's well organised, there is good communication from staff and, most of all, our son seems very happy there. The staff are very patient with our son and they take time to make sure he's making progress and happy.
I have been impressed with the level of care for my child at excel nursery. The staff are exceptionally caring and supportive to the children and my son is extremely well looked after. They communicate with parents effectively and I know what he has done in terms of activities each day through the app, but I also get more specific feedback on pickup. His key worker is excellent and has given my husband and I tips on how to support behaviour and regulation at home. We have a term-to-parent meeting which is useful. My son is very very happy to attend nursery and doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day. The nursery’s safeguarding procedures are excellent, including dismissal/pick-up procedures and also injury/accident reporting. I have met with the manager and have been impressed with the clarity of communication in and after this meeting. Changes were implemented straight away following the last Ofsted and I feel there has been an obvious impact and improvement in provision.
The nursery and the staff has been great overall. After some issues encountered from the previous nursery, I was worried to enroll our daughter into another nursery again but after almost 2 months, Excel Kids Day Nursery gave us the confidence that our daughter is well taken care of and gained our trust again.
We like the Nursery very much! All members of staff and management are great! Our child attends the Nursery for over a year and a half now. They all go above and beyond, and our child feels happy there. He has a minor speech delay and since he moved to the Toddler's room we cannot express our gratitude to the key workers for the progress he made. He goes and comes home with a smile and shares new words he learnt. I have progress meetings regularly, pictures of everyday activities and detailed information on how his day was. Children are paired with key workers they go along. Parent's view is taken into account and every step is discussed prior to implementation. We feel the members of staff as an extended family and work together for the best of our child.
Verbal modelling isn't exemplary and often our child comes home with incorrect pronunciations which is worrying. And general communication with parents sometimes feels vague, especially on the amount of key workers my child has had, which often changes without us knowing.
There is also an at the door collection policy which I appreciate is a hangover from COVID but in years of them being there I have been inside 2 or 3 times, so feels like a bit of mystery as to what's going on.
We have now developed verbal modelling through our Nature and Thrive training for all staff and currently have government funding through the DFE who we have signed up with to support our children's learning. We use the development matters modelling of developing our children's learning experience....
My son has been attending for more than 2 years. The first thing I found was that the staff treat my son like family. I feel confident leaving him in their hands as they seem to love and care for my son like their own. My son loves the staff and other kids.
This is a wonderful nursery. My children have been attending the nursery now for over a year and they have always been happy. The staff are great, so kind and thoughtful. Parents’ concerns are listened to and acted upon. They are happy to treat the children as individuals and are as adaptable as possible to different schedules that a child may have. The activities and trips out are very engaging and my children are coming home excited and learning so much. I’ve been so pleased with the nursery and the staff and feel very pleased when I send my children in and they happily wave back to me and walk in. Well done to all the staff who make it so special.
This is our 6th year of relationship with this nursery. Our 1st child graduated 2 years ago and our 2nd one has been attending for almost 3 years. Kids are very happy there and treated fair. There are lots of activities every day and I get an app where I can see what they were doing that day and see photos. Teachers know children well and they give them lots of love. Even during the lockdown the nursery organised calls to keep relationships between children and their teachers. We do recommend it, the staff and management are amazing!
My little boy loves going there and that speaks for itself. He's comfortable and enjoying every day, made a lot of friends, and learned plenty of new things. I'd recommend this place.
