Gingerbread Corner Reviews (94)
Over all time Gingerbread Corner has 94 reviews.
One key thing about the environment was the cleanliness and neatness of the nursery which gave me peace of mind as a parent.
During her time, my daughter showed tremendous growth and development, particularly in communication and arts. It was heartwarming to see my daughter thrive in such a nurturing environment.
The carers at Gingerbread Nursery were not only friendly but also supportive. Additionally, the staff were always approachable and willing to assist with any questions or concerns.
Overall, I cannot recommend Gingerbread Nursery highly enough and it's been a privilege to be a part of the Gingerbread family.
My son has been going since 2021 and he loves it, he’s made a lot of friends and he really loves the Gingerbread team. He always looks forward to coming especially holiday time. He’s gained so much confidence.
My daughter started going to this nursery at 9 months old and now she is 3 years old. With utmost confidence I can say that Gingerbread Corner is the best nursery, where my kid goes happily, enjoys, learns, plays and comes home with a happy face. All the staff are friendly and take good care of the kids. I like everything about this day care. I suggest this nursery for everyone who lives in Croydon and is looking for a nursery for your kid. Without any second thought you can go for it.
The staff's friendliness and professionalism stand out. They promptly address any queries, showing their commitment to parents and children alike. The consistently clean premises demonstrate their dedication to safety and hygiene.
It's heart-warming to see that, even after all these years, most of the staff from my older children's time (in the early 2000s) are still part of the team. This longevity underscores the centre's enduring commitment to excellence. Gingerbread Corner's remarkable childcare, attentive staff, joyful experiences and clean environment make it a top choice for any parent seeking quality care.
Gingerbread Corner is a good childcare provider. My daughter is always excited to go there as she does go during the holidays. My daughter said she is been engaged with different activities to keep her busy.
My son currently attends Gingerbread Corner for after school and holiday child care, he has been attending for the past 5/6 years and is very happy with the service and care they provide. My son is very happy here which makes me feel confident for my son to attend.
Having an ex-prem toddler with needs it was paramount that I found the right setting for her and by sending her to Gingerbread Corner they have made me rest assured that my decision was in fact the right one. It’s such a loving environment and the staff are impeccable, not only in their professionalism but also in their care, attentiveness and support. I could not have found a better place to send my daughter.
I am absolutely recommending this childcare setting. The staff are competent, highly qualified and they always had the same staff right from day one of my child starting here, this has allowed for him to create strong relationships with his teachers. He is always very happy to go to nursery and when it has happened that he was unwell and could not attend he would feel sad and looked forward to going. The children here are always very happy and welcoming to new children, they are always well engaged in meaningful activities, they are learning to have responsibility through tasks such as helping out in the tidying up, assisting lunchtime, oral hygiene, other countries culture and other important life experiences. I am never worried one day for the safety of my son when he is at this nursery, children are always attended to at all times. I could not choose a better childcare place for my son and I strongly recommend this provider.
Highly recommended nursery, after school and holiday club.
Thank you Gingerbread staff for always doing your best for our children.
Carers look after his needs, always try to find ways to make him happy whilst teaching him new skills. My son especially loves 'digging' in the garden, something he wouldn't be able to do at other nurseries.
The smiles and good manners don't stop there as everyone at Gingerbread (e.g. reception, admin team) are always very helpful and friendly. We're glad that we listened to a friend who recommended us this nursery.
It has so many activities for children and my child has not only gained confidence but also learned new skills each day.
My granddaughter has been attending the Gingerbread Corner since the age of just a few months to the present day, she is 10 years old. She is always eager to go which tells me she enjoys it. Well done Gingerbread for keeping not only my granddaughter but no doubt lots of other children happy and occupied.
The front desk staff is great but that’s it. When my son started his settle-in session red flags started to show up. They weren’t bothered that he was not feeling well and had diarrhea before I came. Other than one member of the staff in the baby room, nobody made an effort to socialise with my baby or myself while I was there. It seems like the majority of the time I was there, all they did was try to calm the babies down, a lot of holding and hugging them but that’s it. No try to distract them with play or anything like that. There are no scheduled activities they do during the day, pretty much it seems like their main goal is to just keep them alive. They walk with the same shoes from outside inside where babies crawl and the toys don’t seem very clean. Windows and doors were all open at the same time. The last straw was when I was told he did not cry even though I was outside and I could hear him. I expected it to happen but the lie is unacceptable. I had no trust in them and pulled him out.
We are sad that you are unhappy and that you didn’t inform us of your concerns when we discussed your decision to leave. We know it’s hard to leave your baby and that lockdown has created more anxiety in many of us. We knew he was unwell but not that he’d had diarrhoea. Had we known settling in...
Our five year old son attended the holiday club for the first time. He has never attended any holiday club so we were a bit apprehensive. We and he were warmly welcomed every day and a nice touch was that they welcomed him by his name the first day. He really enjoyed himself and came home happy and full of what he had done each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. He is already asking when can he go again!
The nursery is very clean and you can see how well they are organized. I love the atmosphere in which my daughter is growing fast and learning things every day. And I can also see through videos and photos and a day sheet summary. The staffs are so professional and friendly. I have nothing negative to say. I am happy that my daughter is going to this lovely and peaceful place.
My children are thriving with the Early Years team! Happy to skip in and growing in confidence which is aiding their development. All staff are nurturing (from reception, classrooms and management) and parents are kept up to date with all developments.
My daughter attends this nursery and it's absolutely outstanding in so many aspects. My daughter is happy and well looked after. The facilities, environment and care are superb. The staff are considerate, professional and demonstrate real wellbeing qualities. Their support, communication and empathy are above and beyond. My daughter has excelled in her academic progress and they continue to push her in that area by helping her develop. My daughter goes to school this year and one aspect of what contributed to my decision making was choosing schools where my daughter can still attend the nursery through their breakfast and after school club. I would highly recommend sending your child here and if you don't get acceptance straight away you can be added to their waiting list which is free of charge to be on. The staff at Gingerbread Corner are lovely and as a parent, I'm happy, content and secure. In my culture we say it takes a village to bring up a child and they're included in our village.
Both my boys love going to Gingerbread Corner and have made connections with both children and staff. My youngest has learnt how to walk and eat by himself and my oldest has grown in confidence. I attended when I was small and I am happy that it is still going (even if the old building was better).
Initially, I used to take my elder children to a playgroup in Gingerbread Corner (8 yrs ago). And now my 3 yr old is going to the preschool group. The best thing about the nursery although being very old but its always very neat and clean especially the toilets, unlike many others, which are much newer than this one. The staff are really very well trained. They have so many aspects including the sensory room for the very little ones and the romp room, soft play room etc all are amazing and very interactive. Can't recommend it enough.
Thank you, Gingerbread for your great staff and nursery.
