My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was ten months old in the baby room. She is now nearly four and in pre-school. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough and that is mainly down to the staff. My daughter took a while to settle in, and the staff went above and beyond to make
her feel comfortable. She loves going here and looks forward to going. She’s always telling me about the fun she has had and is learning so much at such a young age. The care is amazing and my daughter has formed loving bonds with each of her key persons, as well as other carers. The menu is amazing. She eats better than I do! The garden area is lovely with loads to do. They use their app really well. It’s updated throughout the day and they even send photos of activities. She has made some great friends too. This is an amazing and loving place and I’m planning on sending my youngest when I go back to work after maternity leave. Thank you Salcombe!

Leaving your child with anyone is daunting and scary but the staff at Salcombe are so lovely that I have always felt reassured. The communication has always been great, we have an app to see everything our son is doing but always get a handover at the end of the day as well. I’ve always been able to
speak to someone about any questions I have and the staff have always been very helpful. Our son is always happy at the end of the day and he has made good connections with his key workers.

Our children love Salcombe Day Nursery and preschool. The manager is fantastic as well as the staff member in the nursery room who looks after our daughter and the lady in the preschool room who looks after our son. The office keeps us up to date with everything we need to know. They were great during
lockdown. The preschool graduation on Zoom and then the party afterwards was great for the children. Our son will miss coming here.

My daughter has been going to Salcombe for the last one year, five days a week and she absolutely loves it there. My eldest also went to the same nursery and they both had the same keyworker who has been just amazing. Besides her keyworker, all the staff have been fantastic and provided my child with

We have 2 very happy children at Salcombe. My son in particular had very bad separation anxiety, but even in Covid times when parents are not allowed inside, the staff managed this very well. They always have interesting activities planned and both key workers are great at feeding back information about
their day. Management are also very approachable and responsive about any queries.

Keyworker is really engaged in what my son is doing, she can talk in detail about his day every day and always answer any questions I have habit/behaviour etc. She always has new ideas about how to support my son and is os enthusiastic about what he knows and what she can learn from him. She's taken
the time out to have long conversations with me about some challenging behaviours and came up with strategies to move my son away from these behaviours, strategies that she shared so we could reinforce at home and they are working really well.

I have two children attending the nursery both of whom are extremely happy and settled in their environment. I feel the nursery as a whole performs exceptionally. Throughout the pandemic, the management has handled the changes impeccably and the communication to parents has been kept to the highest
level. Both of my children have special educational needs and I can verify that this mainstream nursery has gone above and beyond in the level of care and support given to them. My children are being nurtured and supported in a mainstream environment which is nothing but inclusive and understanding to every child’s needs. The key workers are phenomenal and it’s clear to see the diligent and professional work ethic is embedded in all the staff from management level down. Thank you, Salcombe for providing my children with the best place to learn and play.

I've found that my daughter enjoys the nursery setting and spending time with different members of staff as well as her specific key worker. The key worker is very engaging and I'm happy with the level of care provided on a daily basis. The outdoor space is utilised on a daily basis when possible and
staff appear to have good resources/books etc to keep children engaged and happy whilst indoors. My daughter also appears to enjoy the food each day which consists of a good variety. Overall very happy with the staff and the nursey as a whole.

We have only just joined the nursery but I must say that the manager and team have done a wonderful job of making the transition as smooth as possible. My six-month-old daughter had a great settling period and the staff have been so kind and nurturing to me and her. One thing would be I wish you had

Asquith Salcombe is a wonderful nursery. My daughter has been extremely happy there. She runs to nursery jumping with excitement in the morning. Her keyworker is brilliant; she is very caring, nurturing and an excellent teacher. It is very well organised both at room and management level and I feel
very confident leaving my daughter there - particularly when I get a free cup of tea at their regular coffee mornings.

Both my girls who have attended nursery since they were 11 months have settled well. Staff are all very kind and caring, always putting the children's well being and happiness first, ensuring they always feel safe and have a good variety of activities to take part in every day.
Staff communicate each
day about what the girls have been doing. It's always great to hear the fun they've had bit would like to see observations and photos more often. Maybe Tapestry could be used here?

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2007

Lucia, the Nursery Manager, has been with Salcombe since 2007 and holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare.


From the very beginning, she recognised that the nursery was not only a wonderful environment for children but also an amazing place to work. Over time, Lucia was promoted to Room Leader and later to the position of Third in Charge. These roles provided valuable insight into nursery management and allowed her to embrace additional responsibilities, which she thoroughly enjoyed.


As Nursery Manager, Lucia works closely with the staff, offering support and training to help enhance children's development. She firmly believes that a nurturing environment, supported by highly skilled staff, plays a vital role in shaping each child’s future. Lucia takes great pride in welcoming new parents and children, showcasing the nursery, and guiding families through their early years journey.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Rhiannon has over 10 years of hands-on experience in childcare and brings a nurturing, patient, and energetic approach to every child she works with.


She began her career as a nursery assistant and has progressed to the role of Deputy Manager. Rhiannon has supported children ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years old. Her background includes designing engaging activities that promote learning and development, managing daily routines, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment where children can thrive.


She is known for building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents, and is passionate about fostering confidence, creativity, and kindness in young minds. Rhiannon believes that every child deserves the best start in life and takes great joy in being part of their journey. Above all, she is committed to nurturing a child’s confidence and sense of wonder while serving as a reliable and positive presence in their world.
