Salcombe is a wonderful place for my son to learn, develop and build relationships with staff and children alike.
The staff care for my son and nurture him on a daily basis.
He has progressed very well - he knows his letters and numbers and can write his own name.
I would highly recommend Salcombe
to anyone.

My daughter has been attending Salcombe since she was 14 months old (she's now 3 and three quarters) and she loves it here. The staff and standard of care is exceptional, very warm with a good sense of each child and their individual needs. In preschool, she undertakes a wide variety of activities and
always comes home stimulated and full of conversation about her day.

Both of our children are very happy and settled.
I feel the pre-school activities are great but those in toddler room should be expanded.
Food, on the whole, is nice and nutritious - could be widened slightly to include more ingredients and varied tastes.

We couldn't be happier. Amazing staff and facilities.
My daughter absolutely loves her time here and is always happy and talking about her friends here and key workers. Keep up the excellent work. I would definitely recommend.

I have sent both of my Daughters to this Nursery. The older one is no longer there as she is now in Yr2, however, the younger one is at Salcombe.


Asquith Salcombe Day Nursery is Extremely expensive. More than any other organisations providing similar service. Rates equate to more than £100 a day.

However, with such high prices, the services are not of that high standard. The only positive asset that Salcombe has is their garden for Children's outdoor activities.


However, the rules/procedures/protocols and other childcare services are not of any special.


Very often there is a shortage of staff which does not meet the legal child per carer requirement. I have pointed this out to management on many occasions. There is no strict protocol to welcome/greet children in when they arrive, hence the child does not feel welcomed when they walk in leading to an unhappy child.


Food quality has deteriorated over the recent past.


Very high staff turnover.

My daughter is attending Asquith Salcombe Day Nursery & Pre-School for the second time after a 7 month break and she loves it. She has great support from her key worker and other staff which I have greatly appreciated. I would love if they did more 'learning activities' or if these were reported back
more frequently if they are taking place. Overall, we love the nursery, key worker and the garden.

Salcombe Day Nursery is a very well run and friendly nursery which has made my life as well as my child's life much easier and happier as I've had a very happy and contented son.

My daughter started Salcombe as a shy, tentative little girl. However, with the settling in sessions, patience and warmth of the staff, she now loves her nursery. The staff really take their time to communicate with the parents so I know when I drop her off in the morning. I will hear great tales of
her day and she enjoyed herself.

Very pleased with the wide range of activities including drama, Spanish and football. Love the high-quality food delivered to kids. Staff are fantastic and very attentive to my boy and his needs. When we first walked into this nursery, we were struck by how much of a family atmosphere there was and how friendly all the staff were. We have been very pleased and relieved at how quickly our daughter settled into each new room as she got older. Her key workers have been friendly, open and attentive
- invariably happy to speak on any issues that may arise. We are very happy that it's worked out so well and have recommended the nursery to at least three families.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2007

Lucia, the Nursery Manager, has been with Salcombe since 2007 and holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare.


From the very beginning, she recognised that the nursery was not only a wonderful environment for children but also an amazing place to work. Over time, Lucia was promoted to Room Leader and later to the position of Third in Charge. These roles provided valuable insight into nursery management and allowed her to embrace additional responsibilities, which she thoroughly enjoyed.


As Nursery Manager, Lucia works closely with the staff, offering support and training to help enhance children's development. She firmly believes that a nurturing environment, supported by highly skilled staff, plays a vital role in shaping each child’s future. Lucia takes great pride in welcoming new parents and children, showcasing the nursery, and guiding families through their early years journey.

Rhiannon

Rhiannon

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Rhiannon has over 10 years of hands-on experience in childcare and brings a nurturing, patient, and energetic approach to every child she works with.


She began her career as a nursery assistant and has progressed to the role of Deputy Manager. Rhiannon has supported children ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years old. Her background includes designing engaging activities that promote learning and development, managing daily routines, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment where children can thrive.


She is known for building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents, and is passionate about fostering confidence, creativity, and kindness in young minds. Rhiannon believes that every child deserves the best start in life and takes great joy in being part of their journey. Above all, she is committed to nurturing a child’s confidence and sense of wonder while serving as a reliable and positive presence in their world.
