Buttercups Chiswick is conveniently located next to Gunnersbury Park tube station and is situated in a 4-storey Edwardian townhouse where each age group has their own dedicated room. The preschool children enjoy the whole top floor with Montessori classrooms. As well as the small but well-stocked garden, older children get to enjoy the mini forest at the nearby sister nursery in Chiswick Lane.

At Buttercups, they believe that a well-cared for team results in well-cared for children. They are committed to making sure staff feel supported, rewarded and challenged and continually develop the skills and qualifications of the team through in-house training programmes and external courses.

The nursery adopts a range of teaching approaches, including Montessori which emphasises children's ability to learn through play and make their own decisions, promoting their independence and confidence as they begin their learning journey. They also encourage children to spend as much time outside as possible, integrating plenty of opportunities for outside play and encouraging a love for nature.

Buttercups Chiswick is an excellent nursery. There was a very good induction which helped my child to settle well. The activities are varied and thoughtfully planned to engage the children and help them to develop new skills. The staff are extremely caring and work with you. I would thoroughly recommend

We have had an extremely positive experience at Buttercups at Chiswick, especially since it welcomed back children after lockdown. The staff are brilliant with the kids and one staff member, in particular, is an absolute star! Since she took over the day to day running of the nursery the improvement
has been marked and you feel like it is being run extremely efficiently. Their communication with parents is first class and they provide a very reassuring presence around your child. It seems like a really happy place.

We enrolled our two year old at Buttercups after he failed to settle at another nursery (after a few months), so initially our main priority was the care, attention and warmth he’d receive which was obvious even at the initial tour. I was surprised that within 2 weeks he seemed so much happier already
than his previous nursery, and it was clear he finally got the individual attention he needed. Since then he has really thrived under the care of the most amazing teachers. He is nearing his final weeks with Buttercups, and it still amazes me the energy and effort that goes into enhancing their wellbeing and development. Every week they develop new activities that really engage them on many different levels and fill their days with joy. Our son is incredibly happy there, and to us they have become like family. We will be very sad to say goodbye in a couple of weeks. Their hard work, care and love has been inspiring and we feel very blessed to have found this nursery.

Buttercups is a wonderful nursery full of energetic, kind and caring staff. Our little boy loves going every single day and we notice how much he develops on a weekly basis, coming home with new songs, skills and stories with his friends. It is a happy and safe environment and we wouldn’t want to send

Our child is thriving and staff are experienced, caring and professional. Directly comparing to our previous nursery - the level of kids' activities and feedback to parents is exemplary. Apart from a happy child - every parent wants complete confidence in their child's carers - they achieve both. There
seems to be little turnover and one senior staff member has been teaching there for 25 years. They seem to develop and guide the children in a caring and understanding way but also providing helpful support to parents able to call on the vast experience of 25 years of teaching. They also seem very open to receiving feedback and as a parent, I feel I am listened to. They are open with their approach eg on food - are flexible and adaptable and always open to suggestions on their menu.
The Friday "Forest School" is an absolute highlight of the week for my child. It is great to combine that option with a "normal" nursery on other days. Overall I feel well informed and confident and therefore very pleased we are at this nursery.

Amazing nursery. Couldn’t ask for anything better for my girl. She’s been there since she was 7months and is now nearly 4 and is being very well prepared for school. Can not fault.

From the moment I first entered the nursery, I knew this was the right place for my son. The staff, environment and level of care is exceptional. My son has flourished is independent and they are now preparing him for school. He also loves the day of Forest School. My second son has just started and
I'm confident he will grow and enjoy it just as much.
The only downside is the size of the garden but they make full use of that space and have regular P.E sessions out there. (Forest School is held on a separate site)

Cannot hope for a better place for my children.
Both my daughter (until last year) my son (still there) loved it. Very caring, genuinely loving towards children. Continuous innovation and improvement (forest school, fit and fun activities, Montessori room ..) All in all a fantastic nurturing environment.

It is a very warming nursery. Small enough for allowing that all the staff know every child. I love the freedom and independence they give to the children, being supportive at the same time. My child started the nursery one year ago without understanding any English words. Now, she can communicate as

We are very pleased with the nursery setup for our 2 year old at Buttercups Nursery. The staff are all very nice and highly trained, I know exactly who cares for my child, what he did and ate throughout the day. The nursery is small which makes it feel like home. Our son truly enjoys going there.

This is a great nursery, with fantastic staff who genuinely care about all children. It feels like a family home, rather than an establishment. My child had the best experience and was very well prepared for school. The management is very thorough and hands-on in terms of communication.

Our daughter (2yrs) joined Buttercups Chiswick in October and we are delighted with our choice of day nursery for her. From the first visit, we were warmly welcomed and our daughter has quickly settled into the new environment and is going from strength to strength in the care of the fantastic team
there. Buttercups is small and homely, and this really adds to the personal touch for each of the children and their parents. She partakes in a wide variety of activities daily (which are often driven by the children's choices) and always comes home with so many stories to tell, and surprises us with her continuous development, be it knowing a new word, or song, or dance, or how to put on her own coat! All of the staff illustrate their enthusiasm to encourage the children to grow and develop and also forge really strong relationships with the children, which we have been so happy to see. All in all, we would certainly recommend to other families (if you're lucky enough to be able to get a slot!).

Good nursery, well run, on the whole, children seem happy and well looked after, my child has been there for 18 months now and my son before he went to school was also there, very near to the Gunnersbury tube station. I would recommend the nursery.

A fantastic nursery my son loves it there and I've been very happy with both the care and learning that he has received.
He has attended since he was 11 months old so he's been through several rooms from baby upwards and I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

We are very happy about Buttercups, our daughter is always happy to go there in the morning, which makes it much easier then to go to work. It has a very homy feeling which is why I had selected this nursery in the first place and I did not want something clinical. They have great activities everyday
and the staff really enjoys being with the kids and create really strong relationships with them.

My son attends the baby room at Chiswick buttercups and we are so happy to see him settled and enjoying his time there. It's the personal 1-2-1 care which he gets which sets it all up. The staff have been so caring and responsive on many occasions. This translates from our experience with the manager
down to the key worker and other carers.
Now just a few months in he loves his time at the nursery, is making friends and we have seen a remarkable shift in his confidence level.
The variety of activities he undertakes each week help him develop his all-round skills so well. We are very happy to see our son enjoy his formative years in a caring and safe nursery and would highly recommend buttercups to other parents too.

As a family, we have moved around a lot and my child has been in two previous nurseries. I have got to say I was very surprised how much more this nursery does compare to the others. The staff are all so friendly and I do believe go beyond their job role. My child struggles to interact with others
but the stuff at this nursery have worked closely with her to build her confidence and come out of her shell.
They work closely with the parents and give feedback every day for your child. I am really happy my child attends this nursery, could not fault it.

The staff at Chiswick Buttercups are excellent. Everyone is so friendly, they take the time to get to know each parent and even grandparents which are so important. My two children have been at Buttercups since they turned 1 and they are now 2 1/2. They settled well and have been very happy, to the
point where they now ask to go see nursery staff on days when they are not in the nursery! There is a very warm feeling, it feels like everyone really cares and that the children have fun. One of the things we love is that if the children are interested in something that has not been planned they go with that interest and spend time exploring that. The staff turnover is very low and when I have needed emergency extra care for one child they have been very accommodating so I didn't worry about anything. The manager and deputy have a real presence throughout the nursery every day which is great. They regularly invite parents into the nursery so you can be part of special celebrations etc.

Buttercups is an excellent small-scale nursery. The nursery has a very strong community feeling and significant attention is paid to each child and their individual needs. I have one daughter currently enrolled at the nursery and another who has recently left. I couldn't have made a better choice. They really care for and nurture the children. It's a calm and respectful setting where the children really learn. I feel like it was a great base from which to start their

Laura has risen through the Buttercups ranks, originally starting as a nursery practitioner in our Syon Park setting. Laura continued her studies and was promoted to Room Manager, and Deputy Manager and now she manages our Chiswick nursery. Recently she achieved her Level 6 Early Years Qualification.
