The nursery's focus on the EYFS has been incredibly effective in creating a nurturing environment where my child learns through play. It's amazing to see how he is encouraged to develop his independence and establish good habits in such a positive, engaging way.
The staff are always friendly, approachable, and genuinely dedicated to the children's development. I'm so grateful for the role they've played in my child's growth, and I feel so confident knowing he's in such good hands. Thank you, Barney Bears Nursery, for making such a difference in our lives!
At Barney Bears, our core mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children feel secure, build strong attachments and develop confidently through...
In the two years my son has been attending this nursery, his confidence has grown so much and he's more happy and jolly. The staff are so nice; you can tell that they genuinely care. My son's speech has improved tremendously and he's learnt at a fast pace. The only thing is the nursery is located in a house and, therefore, it is not that spacious. But this can be overlooked, as the lovely staff and their kind nature really do make up for it.
Thank you for taking the time to leave Barney Bears Nursery a review. It is great to hear that our staff care, we are blessed with a great team. You are quite right, having a nursery within a house does indeed have its restrictions, but equally, we can provide that home-from-home feeling which, we are pleased you witnessed. We wish you both well in your next chapter, how exciting.
This review is for my second child. I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful experience my daughter has had at the nursery. From the moment she started at just 9 months old, the friendly and dedicated staff have provided outstanding support to help her settle in. Their warmth and care have made a huge difference and I've seen her grow and thrive in this nurturing environment.
The diverse and inclusive environment has been a wonderful aspect of her experience. The variety of activities and experiences provided have significantly contributed to her development in a loving and nurturing way. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent seeking a supportive and enriching place for their child.
Thank you for such a beautiful review, it warms our hearts to know that we have worked with your family for all those years. Our aim at Barney Bears is to create a culture where we all support and grow together.
Communication with parents is good and they always have a good handover every day.
We love the opening times, (really works for working parents) and feeling rest assured that our daughter is having three good meals a day with snacks.
Go and visit the nursery, as soon as they open the door there is an instant feeling of a happy place!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a beautiful review. Parent partnership is key for us to grow strong connections. We are pleased that you were made to feel welcome, this has made us smile to know we are providing you with a good service.
My 16-month-old daughter has been attending Barney Bears for 9 months now and loves it, even after having a small break during lockdown she was happy to go back. The staff are excellent and always there to help even during these strange times we are experiencing.
Would have been good if timings were a little bit better - but I guess it’s like this in the whole of Barking.
The only downside I would say is that the sick policy can be a nuisance - my son developed a rash on his body and I understand the importance of the nursery making sure that it isn’t contagious but it can be taken to an extreme as the doctors were also being difficult and we found this period a very stressful time. But overall a good nursery - good fun day in the summer.
Really happy with the service and care at Barney Bears. My child has been there for 18 months and really enjoys their time there. The food is excellent and cooked fresh onsite. They organise fun and varied activities and outings for the kids. It’s a super nursery. Well done them.
Staff respond to any queries or concerns quickly and efficiently. They know my child well and tailor targets and activities based on my child's needs which is reassuring. The nursery runs lots of celebratory events throughout the year which parents can get involved in such as Mother's Day tea, summer fun days, etc. Payment structures and policies are clear and staff and managers are always on hand if you need clarification on anything. My child was at two different nurseries before she came to Barney Bears and we're so happy we found this one.
I would advise parents to fully understand the nurseries policies, especially about childhood common illnesses. You will be too often called away from work and commitments for these common illnesses which can be very interruptive if you are a working parent.
Staff are good here generally, most do have long nails which I found to be very unhygienic as they are dealing with food and changing nappies throughout the day.
Management is very poor here and communicating with parents is definitely not a priority for them or of any importance. Often you will speak to staff who will then converse with management on your behalf.
Definitely not worth your money as it's quite expensive and rates increasing every year, you can travel a couple of miles down the road and pay the same or a little less but you will see the difference massively.
I would strongly recommend that parents view other nurseries before considering this one.
The sick policy was reviewed and no changes were made.
Staff with long nails, this will continually be monitored. Staffs nails must be short and it is...
I have had a very positive experience with Barney Bears Nursery, my son settled in very quickly and I was regularly informed on how he was getting on during his settling-in-week. When I had the show round, information was clearly explained to me, staff were very warm and friendly, other children looked happy and were busy learning and playing. The learning environment was colourful, children's work was celebrated as well as the range of festivals they experience. Also regular trips in the local area which my son loves!!! Communication from Management is good especially when there are changes, it is mentioned in newsletters and emails. General inquiries are handled well and you will get a reply pretty much quickly. Handovers are really good, you get a full description on your child's day, e.g. foods they ate, times and type of nappy change, sleep times etc. Knowing that my son is very happy, settled and is confidently becoming more independent, I have chosen the right nursery for him.
Great nursery. My daughter has been there since 7 months and she loves it, and has grown into a friendly confident girl. The staff are very friendly, they serve a great, varied diet. Very happy with this nursery.
Staff are very welcoming and will always greet my daughter in a friendly manner.
Management has always supported me with personal circumstances which have made me feel very comfortable.
I would definitely recommend this nursery if you want your child to thrive and develop, feel safe and warm at all times.
