Our daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year and I can honestly say that as first time parents we are absolutely thrilled with the services that they provide. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds and is thriving. Her confidence has skyrocketed and the communication from the staff is excellent. We would like to thank everyone for the care and love they show our daughter. And a special thanks to the manager who goes above and beyond. We definitely recommend this nursery!
Thank you for your lovely review of our Penge East Day Nursery. We are delighted to hear how happy you and your little one are and how well she is developing. Parent partnership is extremely important to us, we love to share lots of information with you and help you to feel part of child's day!...
As first-time parents, we were anxious and sad to be apart from our daughter, but nursery was always a part of our plan. We got off to a very tearful start (on both sides), and I was a little concerned that she was never going to settle, but four weeks later, we had a very happy 1-year-old. She goes in with a smile and comes home with a bigger one. When our daughter was in her “tearful” stage, the staff soon worked out what made our daughter happy – outside play, water play and music, and soon enough, the tears stopped, and our daughter started to relax and enjoy her time there. The staff are all loving, caring and friendly. The app that tells us what our daughter has eaten/nap times/nappy changes etc is very reassuring, and the occasional pictures are great to see. In the six weeks that our daughter has been at the nursery, she has already progressed so much, and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings. Thanks to everyone at the nursery (especially the baby room).
Thank you for your lovely review of our Penge East Day Nursery. We are delighted to hear that you and your little one are happy and settled at the nursery. We know how daunting and upsetting those first few weeks of nursery life can be, so it is extremely important to us that we work in partnership...
I recommend.
Thank you for looking after our kids so well.
Our son has attended Penge East Day Nursery since October 2021. He has been so happy from day one, always excited to arrive at the door and can’t get inside quickly enough.
The staff in the baby room are so caring and experienced in supporting the babies, that we have always felt comfortable leaving our son in their care. He sleeps well, eats well, and is developing great relationships with his peers and the adults who look after him. His physical and cognitive development are both clearly leaping forward since he joined the nursery.
Overall we are very happy with this nursery and the absolutely lovely staff do very well in an extremely demanding job, I like the focus on learning and there is a commitment to do a wide variety of different activities. However, it does have a few challenges. The staff turnover has recently been very high and the overall communication is something that needs to be improved (there is a parent app but it is very rare that it is filled out or we get photos, it is mainly used as a billing tool and getting feedback on the children's days is difficult whilst in a long queue at pickup).
The manager is great and supportive. I'd love to see some real investment from Three Little Birds in terms of staff pay and retention and a sustained effort in improving two-way communications with parents covering the daily basics as well as more info on their development and any issues. Before Covid, the children went on regular excursions, I'd love to see these resumed if possible.
Thank you for your review. We highly value the feedback we receive from our families and will use your comments to review our current practice and the service we provide.
Our son has attended Penge East day nursery for six months now. As first time parents we were quite apprehensive about him going to nursery but the staff have been incredibly reassuring and understanding. They always greet us with a smile and it’s been wonderful to see our sons confidence grow. It’s clear he really enjoys his time there and the lovely warm staff he encounters.
The activities planned each day are ranging and stimulating and our son really enjoys showing us what he has got up to. He is also learning many things that differ to what he learns at home which we feel only strengthens his experience.
It’s such a big decision choosing the right place for any child but we are so happy with Penge East day Nursery and how our son is settling in.
My little boy joined Penge East Day Nursery in September 2021 and has just thrived being with them. He started in the toddler room as I was concerned about his speech and loved the fact that was a small group of children where he could be nurtured. By the end of October, I was being told he was ready for the preschool room as he had really gained confidence. He moved up in November and has really blossomed.
He adores the staff, has made some friends and has really grown in confidence. He loves the freedom of the outdoor space and thrives being in a space where he is constantly learning from other children around him. He loves the food, naps well and I see him learning new skills every week. It is so great knowing I can leave him in a place where he is so happy whilst I am at work and would really recommend this nursery to any other parent.
No words can say how much we have loved our two daughters attending Penge East Day Nursery. The staff have been so friendly, supportive, and caring for our two girls. I know it has been challenging at times to maintain the consistency of staff, despite this the staff throughout has been truly amazing and the backbone to the success of the setting. My family are very grateful for you and your team's support for the last 10 years. We would highly recommend your nursery setting to families.
Our daughter has been attending nursery since she was eight months old and despite being anxious initially about leaving her in someone else’s care, she was settled in really well. We were given a lot of helpful advice through different stages by staff which helped us immensely as first time parents and alleviated quite a lot of stress. We have been extremely happy with how our daughter is developing and the range of subjects covered through play and activities. It’s lovely to collect her each day and receive feedback from staff on how the day has gone as we explore this further and build on some of the activities at home. Her confidence has really grown and it’s lovely that she is always excited about going each day. The nursery setting is in a house which gives it a more intimate and homely environment which was another major attraction for us. We’ve met some lovely parents too and we are pleased that our daughter still has another year of attending the nursery.
Our daughter started at Penge East Day Nursery in January and has been made so welcome by everyone at the nursery. She hadn't been able to see a lot of family since she was born, so we were apprehensive about how she would feel being separated from us properly for the first time but the manager agreed a gradual settling process, which really worked. We have always felt welcome to call to see how she is doing and can see how comfortable she is with the lovely ladies in the baby room. We love hearing what about what she gets up to and it has been amazing to see her developing new interests when she is there. You can really feel the enthusiasm from everyone who works there for what they do and it has such a lovely family feel. It has been wonderful to see her grow in confidence since starting there.
Penge East Day Nursery is a very loving, caring and home-from-home nursery. Staff have a genuine concern for the children's happiness and always plan fun and enriching activities. Covid-19 has presented obvious challenges but the nursery management have strived to maintain consistency wherever possible and keep doors open, which we appreciate enormously. My two children have attended since they were just under one and they surprise us daily with what they've learnt during their nursery days.
This is such a lovely nursery. Our son started in the baby room, he is now in the preschool room and he loves every single day there. He has a great mix of playing, learning and being creative and I personally really value the emotional learning side of things. Building relationships with children of his age and younger children, talking about feelings and learning to be kind and thoughtful of others. He has formed many great friendships with the other children, many of who live locally and we often see at the weekends in the park. Seeing how much they love playing together is evidence of the playful environment that the nursery have created. Our son often tells us how much he loves nursery, the staff and the other children. He is happy and thriving at Penge East Day Nursery and I believe he enjoys the learning side more because of how happy he is. Every aspect of the nursery is support on and out performs any expectation I would have.
Our daughter started at Penge East Day Nursery last autumn and we've felt so reassured and welcomed into the nursery family right from the beginning. Seeing how warm and caring the staff were, made leaving her there so much easier at the start and they went above and beyond to ease her into nursery life. They have consistently given thought to how to include us as parents during the challenging circumstances of Covid-19, with regular photos and communications and always have time on the doorstep to share how our daughter is getting on. They have such enthusiasm for finding ways to make the children's experience as positive as they can. It's a lovely place.
I was able to view Penge East Day Nursery from a distance during Covid-19 times. Immediately I could see how happy the children and staff were and what great new facilities the nursery had, the baby room was beautiful and I was particularly taken with the outside space. My little girl has been been going since September 2020 and is now in the toddler room, she heads straight in with a quick wave to me and with no fuss. At home she talks about her friends and the room leader with a big grin on her face. I couldn’t be more happy with the service they are offering.
Our daughter has been attending Penge East Day Nursery since September 2020 and we're really happy. It's obviously been a very difficult time but they've worked so unbelievably hard to keep stress and disruption down to a minimum. They've gone above and beyond to build connections, despite the safety precautions in place. Things like sharing photos, scheduling phone calls and building links with home. The manager is superb, organised and professional but also radiates kindness and friendship with all the children. Not an easy combination but one that makes the place really welcoming and warm. The staff have been so patient and supportive, both to our daughter and to us! We're really hoping it'll be possible to get to know the wider nursery community more as restrictions ease. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Very pleased with the staff and care at the nursery. Our son has been there for about nine months and he really enjoys his time there. It's so pleasing to see him build a rapport with both other children and the key workers.
My daughter has only just started here because of the past year and Covid-19 restrictions we were really anxious about her beginning her nursery journey after a year of not really seeing anyone apart from us. However, the nursery offered a gradual settle in period which was really comforting and to be honest our daughter ran through the door at the first session and has absolutely loved it so far. She asks to go back when we leave and talks about what fun she’s had. We’ve not met everyone yet as it’s not been long but so far everyone has been really lovely and the manager is very friendly, helpful and reassuring. It has a home form home feel and we’re so delighted with our experience so far.
Couldn't be happier with Crystal Day Nursery. Fantastic staff who always have time for parents and form wonderful bonds with the children - you can tell that they really care about the children, their welfare and development. They helped us navigate through so many milestones - learning to walk, feeding themselves, potty training, reading and writing etc. My son started at 10 months old and has just left for school - he loved his time there and still asks when he can go back. My daughter started at the nursery in June 2020, just as nurseries reopened post lockdown. The management team handled the situation brilliantly, and continue to do so. My daughter has progressed so much since she started and we can tell she absolutely loves her time there, and her key workers. I would absolutely recommend the nursery. Well done team - keep up the excellent work.
I am a childminder who has two children attend this nursery. Both children love coming here. When I drop off in the mornings the children run straight off as their excitement takes over them. All of the staff are so lovely and also other family members dropping off their kids always stop and have a chat. I have never heard a bad word about this team. I have even used a few of their teaching methods and applied them to my childminding strategy's. When it's time for pick up the two children will speak our whole walk home about the girls here and always singing different songs they're taught. Amazing place. Well done girls.
I didn’t hesitate to sign my youngest daughter up for Crystals after my first spent more than three very happy years there. It’s always daunting to leave your child in a new childcare setting but the staff are so caring and dedicated to the children in their care that it honestly feels like an extension of our family now. They are genuinely invested in the happiness and development of the children and it shows in their enthusiasm and positivity. It also shows in the practical steps they take to support parents. Whether it be with weaning, potty training or learning, they work alongside parents to ensure consistency between home and nursery. I have also been pleased with the consistency of staff over the years. Whilst there has been some turnover there has been stability in both management and experienced staff members who do an incredible job. Both of my daughters have thrived and love going there. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Meet the Team (1)
I have been working within the childcare industry for 17 years since I was just 18 years old. I joined Penge East Day Nursery in March 2021 after returning from my previous job in Abu Dhabi, where I worked for 4 years as a Nursery Teacher. I am currently studying a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Leadership in Childcare. We at Penge East have such a lovely team and I adore watching the babies develop into kind, confident and happy children before their big transition to primary school.
