Welcome to Bright Horizons' nursery in Highbury is a modern purpose-built day nursery for children from 3 months to 5 years.

Situated in the revitalised area of the former Highbury Stadium, the nursery provides exceptional care and education for children in a convenient location. Commuting parents will appreciate the short walk from Arsenal tube station, ensuring easy access for drop-offs and pick-ups, and the dedicated car park for parents' use.

The nursery boasts well-resourced rooms for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and two great outdoor areas for the children to explore as well as close proximity to a communal garden which was part of the old Arsenal football pitch and nature reserve for regular visits.

Their team of experienced childcare professionals work closely with parents and the nursery holds regular family events throughout the year. An array of extracurricular activities for children include bilingual beats, Spanish lessons, cookery club and gardening club. A unique ready for School programme including growing readers, writers and mathematicians further prepares children for their transition to school.

Fees include all meals and snacks, branded nappies, cream, bottles and formula baby milk as appropriate and staff make drop off and pick up times as safe as possible with their convenient parent parking at the nursery.

My son attended the nursery full time for three years, from when he was a year old. We have watched him grow into a strong, confident and happy child during this time and remain very grateful to this nursery for nurturing care that he has received. He has made great friends and developed social skills
and is outgoing as a person as a result. His complex allergy needs have been meticulously attended to. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.

It is an excellent facility, which is extremely well managed and with very caring and friendly staff. The place is bright, very clean and ideally located. Every day there are some new activities ready for the children. My son is very happy there and he loves the food, with the chef making particular
effort to please the kids' tastes. The nursery is not cheap but similar in price to comparable nurseries. I would highly recommend it.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.080)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.080) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Highbury Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.880 for Bright Horizons Highbury Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.88
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.2 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Highbury Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Sarah began her journey with Bright Horizons North Finchley in 2009, working part-time as a lunch cover and supporting children of all ages across the nursery. It wasn’t long before she was promoted to a full-time Nursery Nurse in the 2–3’s room.

At the time, she had recently completed her Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education and was eager to apply her newly acquired skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.

After a year and a half, she stepped into her first leadership role in the Rising 3’s room, where she led a team of three staff. From there, she progressed quickly, taking on the roles of Third in Charge and later Deputy Manager.

Over her 15 years at North Finchley, she also served as the SENCO, which gave her the opportunity to work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure every child received the best possible start in life.

In March 2025, she was proud to be promoted to Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Highbury. She looks forward to working in partnership with the children, families, and team to support each child's development and to beginning this exciting new chapter together.
