Northcote Montessori Independent Nursery School is a private daycare nursery.

Situated on Salcott Road. At their last inspection in July 2023, the nursery was awarded a Good from Ofsted.

The nursery is open full-time from 7:30 am – 7:00 pm caring for children from 3 months to 5 years.

Children are encouraged to develop and build upon their abilities in all areas of learning and take pride in their achievements.

Children quickly gain independence, self-confidence and an enthusiasm for learning. The innovative and exciting curriculum encourages the children to develop all the characteristics needed for effective learning.

The nursery works in partnership with parents to prepare children for entry into well-regarded schools in the local and surrounding areas.

The nursery has been completely refurbished and the rooms are equipped with state of the art educational resources, providing environments rich in exciting and engaging learning opportunities and experiences which are tailored to meet children's individual interests.

The nursery's chef prepares all the children's meals fresh on the premises each day.

Our experience of Northcote & Bennerley House has been great. My daughter joined from another nursery and has been so much happier and more settled here. She bounces in in the mornings! She has learned so much from both the staff and other kids. The staff I have dealt with are very caring and the manager
is very efficient and engaged. My son recently joined too in the baby room and the settling-in process was so much easier than it was when my daughter started at another nursery at the same age. Hard to say if this is a character thing or down to the nursery but in any case, in my eyes, it’s a good sign when an 18-month-old doesn’t cry or look back at me at drop-off.

Excellent nursery and highly recommended. Our son started just after his first birthday and we have been extremely impressed by the care and attitude of the staff and management. The introductory weeks went extremely smoothly and from the first week he has come back extremely happy and full of life
each evening. We have noticed a great improvement in his motor and development skills which has certainly been complemented by the games, activities and interactions with the excellent staff and other pupils. There is a remarkable amount of feedback each day on the app as to what he has eaten, his sleep patterns and we feel extremely confident in the care he is being provided with. The daily menu is superb, varied, specifically designed for infants and superior to what we are regularly able to offer him. Multiple festivals and events appear to be celebrated most weeks and it is clear from the various items he brings home that he is kept stimulated and busy.

Lockdown and social restrictions mean it's been tough to socialise with little ones. Thankfully, Northcote House have been doing their best to stay open whilst being safe. The team are always upbeat and the new app providing updates was a great addition. Unfortunately, we have moved out of the area,
otherwise, our daughter would still be there. She already misses it.

Our daughter is ecstatic every time we tell her we are going to Northcote nursery. The manager and her team are doing an amazing job at making the children happy. Activities are extremely varied. Food looks amazing. An app also allows you to follow the day of your child and is regularly updated. You
immediately feel like home during the settling in.

Our daughter has been attending Northcote House for the past year and we can’t speak highly enough of it. The staff are wonderful - friendly, engaged and genuinely seem to care about the children. I am continually amazed by how much my daughter is learning and developing from her days at nursery, and
she clearly enjoys her time there. I also feel confident that her emotional development is being nurtured, too. We feel extremely lucky that she has the opportunity to attend and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. It isn’t cheap but it is worth every penny. I just hope that we will be as fortunate when it comes to finding a school for her!

We love Northcote House. Our daughter started 3 months ago when she was 9 months old and it took only a few days for her to settle in. The staff always give you their time to talk through your child's day and you can tell looking at the older children when they get picked up just how much they like
their key workers which was instantly reassuring. My child always comes home with a clean nappy and is never sad to be dropped off. It has a nice family feel to it. So far so good.

My wife and I, and most importantly our son (1 year old), are exceedingly happy with Northcote House Nursery.
We had problems at a previous nursery so had to find a place quickly as we withdrew him. The manager was kind, considerate and understanding of our problems and experience and went out of
her way to ensure we were completely reassured with the processes and care of our son, in particular giving us extra time to see him settle in and observe how things were done in the nursery. The management have always been there to answer questions and help in any way they can. Can't fault them.
The team who look after our son are equally wonderful. Most of the time he actually tries to sneak back into the nursery when I pick him up. They provide daily updates and, from what I have experienced, genuinely know and care deeply for our son. He is developing really well and comes home with new skills, songs and dance moves all the time.
I wholeheartedly recommend Northcote House.

Our two-year-old son has been going to Northcote House since August 2019. Our experience of the nursery has been extremely positive. When he first joined the baby room, he settled quickly, and the staff were fantastic with him. He then went on to the pre-toddler group was very happy there too. He is
now in the toddler group and is excited to go to nursery every morning. The staff are all friendly and caring, the activities they put on for the children are great, and I have been really impressed with the work they do with the children about feelings and emotions.

Great nursery and a great staff basis. Our daughter absolutely loved attending, and we were really disappointed to leave (as we moved away from the area). I was always impressed with how many activities they would do with the children and the variety of them. Would definitely recommend.

Our daughter was always happy to go into the nursery and big smiles when we picked her up, particularly when coming home with her artwork/painting from that day. Staff are friendly, accommodating and enthusiastic and always gave a good verbal handover of our daughter’s day. We have only left as we moved

The child I nanny for attends this nursery. Everything about it is fabulous.
The manager is so happy every morning and nothing is ever too much.
The staff are extremely kind and caring, and this is reflected through how happy the child I care for is when I pick him up.
There are lots of activities
on offer and the food on offer is great also.
I must say during this time the staff have all been calm and professional at all times, a real credit to the manager.

Northcote House Nursery is an exceptional nursery and I would highly recommend it to any parent. The facilities are bright, airy and more spacious than other nurseries in the area. The staff are all friendly, smiley and loving with the children. They're served 3 nutritious and filling meals a day, the
menu changes on a weekly basis so good variety. I can't fault the nursery on anything. The other parents I know also think the nursery is great. We're moving out of the area and so disappointed my son will be leaving.

My one-year-old son absolutely loves going to nursery in the morning and has developed leaps and bounds since starting three months ago. He is always greeted by a happy and welcoming member of staff. The manager is brilliant, personable and always knows what’s going on, showing an interest in each individual
child at the door.
A happy smiley baby is handed back to me at the end of the day with a detailed written diary and debrief from his key person, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend Northcote House Nursery to any parent looking for a five-star, reliable childcare solution.

In June 2020 our son joined the toddler group at Northcote House and has enjoyed it ever since. The settling in period was adequate and enabled me to see how he would interact with other children and staff and to see what he would be doing each day. We have been warmly welcomed by the manager and all
of the staff who are very friendly and kind. The space inside is larger than we expected with a good selection of toys, books and playing areas. My son has enjoyed growing plants in the outdoor space. Security is good, given how close the nursery is to Northcote Road. We really appreciate the manager sending weekly newsletters detailing what the children in each age group have been doing and it's great we can also see photos and videos on the nursery FaceBook page. Our son really enjoys going to Northcote House and talks about the other children and the teachers. His vocabulary is coming along rapidly! Our experience has been very positive.

Our son has had the loveliest few moths at Northcote House since he started in June. The nursery is bright, airy and has lots of different play areas. It has such a nice feel to it, and the staff are genuinely caring, friendly and great at keeping us updated on how his days have been and what he’s been
up to. The manager is so helpful and always really quick to respond. Our son loves nursery, goes without tears and always comes home tired. I feel extremely confident that he’s being well looked after.

Our daughter is very happy at Northcote House. She enjoys going, has made friends, adores the staff and seems to be developing and learning really quickly. The staff were so helpful when we started potty training, in fact they gave us the courage to start!

My son has been at Northcote House since April 2018 and he is just so happy there. All the staff are so friendly, loving and engaged with the children - a big reflection of the manager who is just fantastic. It’s a testament to how happy my son is there that he talked about the staff throughout lockdown,
and settled back in really very quickly. He’s usually clingy to me but he goes in very happily every morning. They’ve handled the return from lockdown so well. Feel very lucky that our son has somewhere so wonderful to attend. The facilities are also far superior to all other nurseries I’ve viewed locally, with large bright spaces and great outside areas.

Our daughter, now aged 4 and in Bennerley House, started Northcote House nursery at 11-months-old and has thoroughly enjoyed her time throughout. Sometimes I struggle to get her to leave at the end of the day! The staff have been ever so caring towards her.
We now have our son who is a year old, started
in the baby room back in February. It made sense given how happy we were to start him at the same nursery. All is going very well, and he has settled in very quickly. Being sent a few pictures initially of him when he started meant a lot.
The manager and her team are doing a great job, and as a family we are extremely happy. I have seen some changes over the years but so pleased we stayed, and now have both our children there. Says it all really!

Our little one arrived in Northcote House Nursery in October 2019 and since then we could see a huge change in her behaviour. She is far more curious, talkative, interested in everything, concentrated.
The team is amazing in relation with
- the organisation of the nursery,
- the activities proposed
(drawings, readings, dancings, singing, manipulating, learning different culture, languages...)
- the respect of our child,
- the zen attitude and the smiley and happy faces whatever the time and even during the COVID pandemic,
- the follow-up our child development on a daily, monthly and yearly basis.
I just love this team and will leave my child without any doubt.
Our little one is always happy to go there and it is a real pleasure to see her running into the arms of the nannies who welcome her in the morning.

A lovely feel to the nursery, that everyone who worked there truly loved the children. My little boy would go skipping in every morning and was always very happy in collection, full of tales of today’s activities. He always really enjoyed attending the nursery.
