I cannot praise Shooting Stars enough. They are a wonderful nursery who go out of their way for all the children in the care. The staff's dedication to the children in their care shows a true passion for their work. My daughter has come such a long way since starting. The support of the staff is incredible and they go out of their way to get to know parents too. They are all so friendly and approachable. My daughter often feels like it is an extension of our own family when we come to the nursery! A really lovely nursery.

Staff are caring and make huge efforts to get to know all of the children.

My children's time at the nursery is structured, there is attention to detail regarding planning and my girls are engaged in a variety of activities. Both inside and outside spaces are kept tidy and clean and are utilised daily. The use of outside agencies such as 'music bugs' and 'rugby tot's' and trips out of the nursery to the library, park and larger scale trips to farms further enhances their learning experiences.

I think pre-school 2 is set up in an excellent way as it mirrors the type of environment the children will encounter when they reach primary school. The children eat well as the menus are balanced and I am particularly impressed with the way the nursery accommodates children who are weaning. Any issues I have ever had have been dealt with professionally and quickly, though I do wish that there was some wiggle room with the nursery's medical policy.

I have been sending my daughter to Shooting Stars for 2 years. She loves the nursery. Staff turnover has been very low and this has helped her to feel at home and she still loves to see her key worker from the Baby Room. The rooms that the children are in are engaging; in addition, children are taken out on walks to the park etc. There is a varied programme of activities including music bugs, 'PE' and plenty of messy play. There is a rigorous process for pick ups and gaining access to the building is via two locked doors. Parents are involved often, there are normally theme days around holidays such as Holi Festival, Chinese New Year and Easter. I really appreciate the multi cultural approach they take to this. In addition a book is filled in every day detailing food, nappy changes and sleep and what their activities were. Staff listen to your requests about routines. Overall I couldn't recommend Shooting Stars enough. They have given my daughter a brilliant start.

We have always found all of the staff to be great looking after our daughter and have every confidence in them providing her day to day care. Recently they have been brilliant in helping us transition from a bottle to sippy cup and supporting us moving on to solid foods and self-feeding. We have noticed a big change in her developmentally since starting nursery 4 months ago.

My 2 sons attend the nursery and love being there. Lovely and friendly staff who give great feedback from the day the boys have had. They are always doing new activities to inspire young minds.
Staff have such a lovely bond with the children and I know that if my boys ever needed a cuddle when I'm not there that they would happily go to their key workers.

Great food menus and we know the children are eating healthy meals and snacks through the day.

My three sons have each attended shooting stars and my little one still does. This nursery is absolutely fantastic. I have nothing but praise for the wonderful caring staff who work there. My boy has such fun every day he attends and we receive daily feedback regarding the activities which have been offered. The staff are friendly and warm and the manager and deputy are both great. Thank you for all your hard work. This is an excellent nursery.

Both my girls have attended Shooting Stars in Stourbridge so I have had direct contact with the nursery now for nearly 6 years. It is a lovely setting that I would highly recommend to local parents. They provide a warm, caring environment for the children in their care whilst giving them numerous varied learning opportunities through play. They work on a positive reinforcement and modelling good behaviour which is a must for me when looking for a setting for my children. The facilities and equipment available to the children are lovely. The staff are informative and welcoming and you can see they really care for the children throughout the nursery. I highly recommend Shooting Stars as somewhere you can leave your children and know they are in safe hands and the food is yummy :-)

Tracy Hedges Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2011
Tracy Hedges

Tracy joined Shooting Stars Nurseries in 2011, at a time when the group had just one nursery setting. She was originally appointed as Deputy Manager at the Stourbridge nursery before stepping into the role of Nursery Manager in 2013. In 2015, she progressed into her current role as Area Manager, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a career in Early Years that spans over 28 years.

Before joining Shooting Stars, Tracy worked across a variety of practitioner, leadership, and senior leadership roles within day nursery settings. Her career also includes time spent as part of a specialist support team working with children who had experienced spinal cord injuries, and she began her journey in childcare as a nanny. Her long-standing commitment to Shooting Stars has made the organisation feel like an extension of herself—she often says it’s as much a part of her as she is of it.

Tracy is deeply passionate about creating magical childhoods that nurture curiosity, excitement, and strong foundations for lifelong success. She has a particular interest in emotional well-being, believing that secure, emotionally enabling environments are essential for children to truly thrive. After many years of hands-on practice, she now channels her passion into supporting teams across the nurseries, helping embed this ethos into the culture of every setting.

Her leadership is rooted in empathy, experience, and a genuine love for early years education. Tracy continues to inspire those around her with her dedication to quality, her belief in the power of nurturing relationships, and her commitment to growing confident, capable teams.

Since 2004, Kully has held a variety of leadership roles, including Room Leader in both Pre-School and Under 2’s, Deputy Manager, and Nursery Manager—spending 16 of those years in management.

These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of early years education and operational leadership.

Kully is particularly passionate about the development of children under two, with a strong focus on building secure attachments and nurturing environments that support emotional wellbeing and early development. She also brings extensive expertise in Health & Safety, SEND, and Safeguarding, which are central to her practice and leadership.
