Next week we will be -

Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Next week we are going to be focusing on pets. We are going to be doing lots of fun activities such as going on walks and seeing if we can see anybody with their pets such as taking their dog for walk. We are going to be talking about our favourite animals and what pets we have at home and we will also be engaging in role play, acting out being vets and looking after our sick animals. Please could you send in any pictures of any pets you have at home, you can either message them across or send them into nursery with your child. Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be looking at Pets Week, we will be creating pictures of our own pets at the craft table and talking about their names and what they look like! In the water tray we will be exploring in a ‘pond’, looking at the animals we would see while out and about and which ones we could name. In the reading corner we will have lots of ‘That’s Not My…’ books and learn some new single descriptive words! In the messy tuff tray we will be looking at some ‘frog spawn’ made from chia seeds and exploring it with some toy frogs!

Butterflies Next week we are exploring the story 'Dear Zoo' by Rod Campbell. Through this much-loved book, babies will be introduced to a variety of animals using simple, repetitive language and engaging sensory experiences. Each day we will focus on a different animal from the story, using sounds, movements and textures to support early communication, curiosity and physical development. Activities will include making animal noises, exploring different materials (such as soft “fur” and water play) and practising gentle actions like caring for a pet. Reading the story regularly helps babies build familiarity and confidence, so you may enjoy sharing Dear Zoo together at home too! Our focus is on developing early language, sensory exploration, and having lots of fun while learning through play.
