WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 20TH APRIL 2026

Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Next week in Preschool the Clever Cats are going to be learning all about St George, in time for St. George’s Day! We will be practicing our scissor skills, cutting triangles out and making a map! The Clever Cats will be also look at how we can look after our environment and practice recycling!

The Clever Kittens will be creating shields just like George’s! They will also be going on a dragon hunt on their daily mile! Our song of the week is ‘There Was A Princess Long Ago’ and our book of the week is ‘George And The Dragon’.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be celebrating both Earth Day and St George’s Day, supporting children’s understanding of the world while having lots of fun through play and creativity. For Earth Day we will be using tweezers to pick up blue and green pom-poms, carefully placing them to create our own Earth picture. For St. George’s Day we will also be introducing simple stories about St. George and the dragon along with making flags using the colours red and white.

Butterflies Next week the Butterflies will be exploring St. George’s Day and Earth Day creating their own flag and going outdoors exploring some natural phenomena like the local canal. We will also be collecting leaves to create our own outdoor themed pictures while introducing some simple words when out and about in our local community.
