Stories Come to Life: Tops Poole Children Enjoy Creative Learning and Theatre at Lighthouse Poole

Children from Tops Day Nurseries Poole, located on Denmark Lane, recently enjoyed another memorable trip to Lighthouse Poole to watch the enchanting stage production of ‘Tales from Acorn Wood’.

Based on the much-loved children’s books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Tales from Acorn Wood brings to life the charming woodland world of characters such as Fox, Rabbit, Bear and Mole. The production is a warm, interactive, and family-friendly experience, filled with music, storytelling, and gentle humor, perfectly designed to captivate young audiences and spark their imagination.

In the lead-up to the visit, children at Tops Poole immersed themselves in the world of Acorn Wood. They explored the stories, learnt about the characters, and enjoyed reading the books together. As part of their creative activities, the children also produced a range of artwork inspired by the show, which was proudly displayed on a dedicated stand at the theatre for visitors to enjoy.

The visit was made possible through Tops Day Nurseries’ ongoing partnership with Lighthouse Poole, who were recently sponsored by Tops for the Tales from Acorn Wood production. This collaboration provides children from Tops Poole and surrounding Tops nurseries with regular opportunities to experience live theatre, supporting their learning, creativity, and confidence.

Experiences like this play an important role in early years development, helping children to build language skills, explore storytelling, and engage with the arts in a meaningful and memorable way.
