The Old School House Nursery & Pre School

The management team and staff are very Communicative - the monthly newsletters to parents are interesting, and the personal approach from the owners is great. The amount of detail and daily pics in the app is wonderful. Both our kids are at OSH, with our littlest starting in the baby room in January. Seeing her thrive in the setting over her first few weeks was wonderful. The care and commitment from key workers and other staff is noticeable. Our kids love it there.

Overall amazing nursery!

My daughter has been at the nursery since 10 months old and she is now 4. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Staff at The Old School House have been fantastic welcoming our little girl into the nursery. She started just after her 3rd birthday and was quite anxious starting, having been at her previous nursery since she was 8 months old. However, three staff members in particular have been fantastic and really made sure she feels settled and secure. The nursery has a fantastic range of activities and our daughter adores the forest school on site and coming home to show us her dance moves learnt in her weekly ballet lesson. I love that she will get to play outside whatever the weather. Her speech and language is greatly improving and the nursery were proactive in giving extra support in these areas, suggesting extra resources and taking the time to meet with me and making sure we had a support plan in place. I would definitely recommend this nursery and love how happy my daughter is each day coming out and telling me about the food she's eaten, crafts made, new songs learnt and activities she's done.

The Old School House is such a lovely nursery - the staff are wonderful and my little girl absolutely loves her keyworkers - she talks about them all the time. They treat each child as an individual and really support parents with changes as the children grow up e.g potty training etc. The management team are also really hands-on, keep parents updated and are very accessible for any query however small. I feel happy knowing my little girl is so well cared for when I'm at work and that makes leaving her so much easier!

Our 2-year-old started at The Old School House September 2024, after being at another nursery. Our son settled in straight away and we were made to feel very welcomed from day one. He loves going into nursery every day and always has a smile on his face. This is due to his three main workers, who are brilliant, and make his days fun-filled and educational. He has learnt so many new things since being at The Old School House including new songs and rhymes. His enthusiasm when he comes out at the end of the day is fantastic and he can't wait to go back the next day. We would totally recommend The Old School House to any parents.

The Old School staff go above and beyond for the children and parents, my son was very anxious and I felt so nervous leaving him but the management, room leaders and practitioners went above and beyond to reassure me and my son, he has learnt so much, developed amazingly, and is always telling me about the wonderful things he does and I'm able to see this, the staff are always warm and welcoming and I can't think of a better nursery.

The Old School House is amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better group of people to hand over our child to at nine months old. The whole team have made it easy to understand, guided us throughout and entertained our child well beyond what we could do organically. We all absolutely love this place.

My daughter absolutely loves the nursery! She has been going for nearly two years now and from day one she has walked in with no hesitation. She even likes to play nursery when at home and she will pretend to be the teachers.

Since my little boy has started The Old School House in September, he has come out of his shell so much. They have built the most incredible bond with him and he feels safe enough to go in without any tears. His speech has come on leaps and bounds, his knowledge, concepts and especially problem-solving have excelled. They have worked absolutely wonders in the Ducklings room, and I honestly cannot thank them enough. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I come across. They are extremely welcoming, lovely and kind. They really show the children are at the core of their care, and drive to help them as much as they can! Thank you Old School House, I cannot wait to carry our journey on with you guys through the next few years. Excellent in all areas. Always going above and beyond. The staff are fabulous and my son is always so happy when I drop him off. They offer great facilities and activities as well as home-cooked food.

Our child has been with the nursery for over a year and he loves it. The staff are attentive and help with regular feedback to parents. On a daily basis we get a repost of what our child has been doing, how well they have eaten/slept/etc. we also get regular photos of them having a brilliant time. The facilities are brilliant too with a great outdoor space. Would recommend to others.

We have been going to The Old School House now for just over a year, from 11 months old. The facilities are fantastic, the outdoor space is incredible. Activities are creative, imaginative and really encourage development and learning whilst being fun. The staff - just wow. The staff are my child's second family. They care for and nurture him. I cannot rate them high enough! The app they use to keep parents updated is wonderful and the staff always make huge effort to update and share photos, videos and daily logs of activities. There have been many exciting day trips out too, small and large. They offer varied and rotating food which ensures even a picky eater is satisfied.

The Old School House Nursery in Poole is exceptional! From the moment you walk through the doors, you feel the warmth and dedication of the staff. They truly go above and beyond to create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for the children. The team is incredibly caring and attentive, making every child feel valued & supported. Their passion for what they do is evident in the way they engage with the children, fostering their growth and creativity while ensuring their individual needs are met. The facilities are fantastic, and thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration and learning. Communication with parents is excellent; we are kept informed about our child's progress and daily activities. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful nursery. Staff treat the children as if they were their own, and that level of care and commitment is rare to find. Highly recommend The Old School House Nursery to any parents looking for a truly outstanding place for their little ones.

The team at The Old School House have made my daughter's transition to nursery (and me back to work) so much easier. Not only do I have peace of mind that she is safe and well cared for. They do such a huge range of activities with them; things we would never do at home so she gets a range of experiences. They have a lovely garden for the babies as well as a separate one for the older children. Their communication is excellent so, as a new mum, I haven't felt like I'm missing out on seeing my daughter grow up being at work full time.

This is a fantastic nursery, I couldn't recommend The Old School House more. My son is in the baby room and he loves it, the staff are fantastic, it's a great, clean, safe place. The staff really care for and about the children.

Absolutely incredible nursery. Our son has been there since he was 10 months and is now just about to turn 3. The staff are amazing and have been so caring, thoughtful and dedicated to helping to look after and bring up our son. They are constantly upgrading facilities, taking the children on great trips and put so much effort into daily and weekly activities. We can't recommend The Old School House enough.

My little girl started nursery a few months ago and the baby room have been amazing with her, they are so friendly and warm, always going above and beyond for my baby. The facilities at The Old School House are amazing, they are constantly going on trips, doing fun activities and playing in the garden. Can't fault them at all. Our daughter started in the baby room back in 2021 and throughout her journey from a crawling one-year-old through to graduating nursery and starting reception the staff at the setting always went above and beyond. Our son is now in the baby room and I wouldn't place him anywhere else. Over the past 4 years of being parents of children in the setting we have always been so impressed with the care and love that each member of staff gives towards the children. The learning experiences are fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate and activities and trips are tailored to the children's current interests. Communication between staff and management has always been quick and effective and it has always felt that the staff have the best interest of the children at heart. Can't recommend enough!

Our son has been attending The Old School House since January 2024 and he is so happy there. We can see so much an improvement in confidence and independence. The team are amazing, we get feedback each day and the team have helped him to reach his milestones. I would highly recommend this nursery and its friendly, competent, caring team.
