Sunbeams Nursery is located in Shipley town centre, providing contemporary Early Years Education and Care. Ofsted rated the setting as ‘Good’ in all areas in their latest inspection (May 2022).

The nursery is designed to support each child’s development from 5 months to 5 years. The team is dedicated to providing the best possible childcare for families in the local community.

The team at Sunbeams Nursery and Preschool are passionate about the development of every child in their care, and strive to nurture a love of learning, fun, creativity and exploration. They focus on the Early-Years learning curriculum to support children as they progress through their early years and ensure they are prepared and ready for the next development stages in life.

Sunbeams Nursery provides a safe, exciting and enjoyable environment where children thrive as they learn through play-based learning. The nursery is all set on one level. Each rooms has been lovingly crafted into a stimulating and inspiring learning environment that offers a wide variety of resources and activities to suit each age-group. There is a large outdoor play-area, which offers plentiful opportunity for gardening and imaginative play. Children love exploring the garden, with a variety of areas such as the cosy reading shed, the mud kitchen hut and the popular outdoor water play.

We're really happy with sunbeams nursery. The staff are caring and attentive, and our little boy is always happy to go in. He comes home happy, and we've seen a big boost in his confidence and social skills.


The team communicate well and create a safe, fun environment for the children. If you ever

From day one my daughter has always been enthusiastic about attending nursery! That has not changed at all. That is a good reflection on the team of teachers that they are making nursery very fun for her. There have been times that I have chanced upon some of the fun activities when I was there to pick
her up. Kudos to the team!


The attendance segues into the conscious intention to include her in all activities. Something the team of teachers does with keenness. I believe it all adds up to why she enjoys nursery so much that she looks forward to it every time! On the Parent Zone app, there are loads of images of her actively engaged and involved in all activities and she displays such excitement which is so visibly infectious! She is sociable, expresses herself adequately and is very keen on asking those "what is this?" questions. On the whole, she is a happy, curious and resourceful child in part due to the guidance and direction of her teachers.

Sunbeams is a wonderful nursery with caring, professional & friendly staff.
My daughter has attended here for just over a year and really enjoys her sessions.
She was settled in gently and with great care.
Sunbeams is a brilliant early years setting with specific rooms for different ages.

have a well maintained soft play , secure outdoor area & Guinea pigs also.
Staff keep parents up to date and my daughter has really benefited from attending Sunbeams.

We couldn't be happier with the care our son receives at his nursery. From the moment he started, the staff have been so warm, nurturing and attentive, which really helped him settle in quickly.


The activities they provide are fantastic and really support his learning and development - we've seen

such a big difference in his confidence, communication and independence. He always comes home happy and excited to tell us about his day, which says everything.


The team are also great at keeping us updated with what he's been doing, and it's clear they genuinely care about each child as an individual.

My son has been attending Sunbeams Nursery for the past year. His confidence has grown and his development progressed well. He is overall very happy to go in every time and during holidays asks to go too. There are regular updates regarding his milestones or progression on his development. The staff
members are friendly and approachable, always prompt with communication.
There are indoor and outdoor play areas, with ample spaces for each designated age groups.
There are extra activities that the children can engage in through the year, including trips and swimming lessons.
It is a good nursery for us and we will be sad to move on when my son goes to school in September.

Sunbeams is a lovely nursery and we're very happy with the service they provide. The staff are exceptional, friendly, caring and very understanding of our son's extra needs. They were quick to identify additional ways to support him and are constantly adapting to help get the best out of him; tailoring
focused learning sessions to his special interests and exploring different approaches to his behaviours. We really appreciate everything they do for him. The meals are great too, and again they are very flexible with our child's preferences to make sure he has a good feed. Everyone at Sunbeams is passionate about what they do, and children are treated as individuals, not just a number. The setting is great too, with lots of equipment for physical, creative and academic activities, and quiet/sensory spaces to cater to all needs. Activities, toys and equipment are regularly updated to maintain engagement and pace of learning, and we're seeing great progress in our son's development.

My daughter first started back in Jan and as hard as it is letting go this nursery has been outstanding! They have always given me brilliant feedback every day and my daughter has settled in so well. My 2yo son joined the nursery in December after being at another nursery for over a year that we left after a job change.
Sunbeams is absolutely fantastic. All of the staff are friendly, warm and enthusiastic. They all know every child by name. There's a really lovely relaxed, community feel to the
nursery. The outdoor space is small but utilised well. There's a ball pool which my son loves.
All the staff are happy to answer any questions. They worked with us around potty training and dropping nap. They also encourage the children to develop life skills and prepare for school e.g. queuing to wash hands before meals.
The one negative I would say is that there are a few typos/ errors in the induction paperwork and some written communication. I'm mentioning as it may put people off but shouldn't.
Another positive is that management are responsive and communicative. We had questions around billing which were explained promptly. We really rate Sunbeams and would recommend

My son has been going to this nursery since January and he's come along so well to when he first started the staff are brilliant with working close with him to help with his wants and needs and working close aside me to help assess his sen needs.. I couldn't praise more about this nursery and how amazing

My son started at Sunbeams in May 2024, as we moved he had to readapt to this new nursery.
The team has been fantastic with him! They've been welcoming him and reassuring him so that he could feel more confident.
He's progressing so much since, he's becoming more and more autonomous, and he's learning
words and skills.
The team also helps him to develop his logic and his creativity, as he's part French, the team makes the effort to say a few words in French which is really appreciated.
I know he's safe at Sunbeams and it's one of the most important things as a parent.
I'm really happy with all the work the team is doing, and my son he's so happy too.

Our daughter has now been attending Sunbeams for over three years and has been in all three rooms. She continues to thrive and absolutely loves the nursery and the friends she has made there. The staff are all incredibly friendly and supportive and have been really helpful with the issues we've had
with toilet training. I'm sure our daughter will be devastated to leave when it's time for her to start school, but we've already decided to stick with Sunbeams for her sibling due in the summer, so we look forward to another three years of working with the manager and all the girls!

Our experience with Sunbeam Nursery has been extraordinary. Our girls that currently go there genuinely love all their key workers and staff. Their time is packed full of learning and fun activities. Our girls explain how much they love nursery. They want to go on their day off just to see their key
workers and other kids in their class.
As parents who work full time, it is nice to know that they're in safe hands when you're not with them.
As parents, we also get support from the manager in relation to funding, holidays, etc.
What a lovely nursery, with great staff, facilities that will teach kids, a great support network, and a fun place to be.

Amazing staff always kind, understanding and friendly. Willing to keep you updated with anything that is happening at the nursery as well as on how our son was doing with the parent zone app which always helped me when I was working, especially as a first time mum. My 2.5-year-old has been really settled at nursery. He has a good relationship with his key worker and talks about her and his friends at home and sings songs he has learned there. Nursery staff have been really supportive of potty training and give a really clear handover at the end of each session.

My son has come on so much since he started a year ago, especially since going into the plum room his speech has come on so much. He loves the football he plays. Every time he's happy to see one lady in particular every time we arrive big smiles every time. His key workers are really great with telling
him they tell us everything he has done for the day, even uploading pictures for us to see. Overall the best nursery.
