Great experience for the past year across baby, toddler to preschooler room. The staff were caring and patient, constantly showering my child with love and helping her grow. They were great at teaching her rules and discipline too. I can see my girl growing with confidence there. The nursery has great
outdoor space with a mud kitchen and sandpit which my child enjoys a lot. They also have Spanish and music sessions adding different experiences for my child. The management helps build a parent's community such as Xmas Party and Summer BBQ to allow parents to mingle and build connections. The food provided was awesome as well with lots of variety. Overall highly recommended to any family nearby!

The management and staff are brilliant. My 16-month-old loves it. The facilities are fantastic, so open and light. They do lots of activities with the children and are really supportive of the parents. They always try to accommodate additional care when needed. They offer seminars and events, inviting
parents to come in on a regular basis. The food is varied and nutritious and my little one seems to enjoy all of it.

Fennies Nursery Teddington offers a lovely community, a hard-working and dedicated staff team and a beautiful, clean and dynamic space for our son to learn and thrive in (and soon our daughter too). Our son is excited to go to nursery every morning and leaves nursery every evening very content and chatting
happily about his day. The friendships he has made at Fennies Teddington are wonderful to see and the staff provide such a nurturing, rich, and supportive environment.

After being in Fennies Nursery Teddington a year and three months now, I can only say that my darling son has flourished and developed his speech and social skills so fast that I don't want him to leave. I'm so happy and grateful for the hard and wonderful work the Teddington team has done with my son
throughout his learning journey and a massive thank you to all the staff here, especially the manager who is like a second mom to all the kids here. She listens, understands and helps with everything and anything. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for their children's development, happiness, well-being and care to join Fennies Teddington as it's the most amazing and great atmosphere all around every day. Clean, tidy and lots of activities daily. It's been a joy to be part of this setting. Five-star all-around.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.836 for Fennies Teddington, Waldegrave Road is calculated as follows: ( (243 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 286 Ratings = 4.836
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fennies Teddington, Waldegrave Road is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 103 number of registered child places is 20.6, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

What’s a fun fact about you that makes you stand out? (It doesn’t have to relate to Early Years.)
When I was younger, I was quite shy and lacked confidence. However, as I headed to university, I started becoming more of the person I wanted to be, continually pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. I remember having to give an oral presentation in front of my whole class, and my cheeks started trembling! I had to pause and share what was happening, which made everyone chuckle. My friends still recall that moment, and it always brings a smile to their faces. It just goes to show that stepping out of our comfort zones can lead to funny and memorable experiences!

How would you like to inspire the local community through your nursery?
I’ve always been a big fan of supporting small businesses, and I believe it’s important for our children to learn about this too. We’re excited to explore our lovely Teddington community together! Our visits to local spots like the library, post office, and flower shops really help them understand. We are also planning to take trips to Teddington Riverside, Richmond Park and our local parks.

What’s one moment from your Early Years journey so far that you’ve loved?
I remember my time leading forest school sessions; it was such a joy getting messy with the kids as we explored nature together! I really learned a lot from their curious minds. It was truly one of my favourite experiences as an early years teacher. This past year, as the room leader in the Discoverers room has been incredible. I cherish each day and the challenges that come with it. Watching all the children grow and getting to know their families is so rewarding, especially as a mum of a toddler myself. It truly makes the experience special!

What’s your ambition for the future of Early Years education at your nursery?
I’m really passionate about enhancing the Early Years experience at our nursery! I want to support our amazing team in understanding child development and effective learning techniques. By mentoring and hosting engaging, informative meetings, I hope to create an environment where everyone feels happy and excited to learn from each other. Together, we can ensure our little ones thrive!
