Blue Butterfly Montessori (Stanmore)

Wonderful nursery! We are so sad to be leaving unto pastures new but Blue Butterfly Montessori will hold a special place in our hearts. Our little girl really struggled to settle into nursery but her keyworker and other staff were all so helpful and patient with her and us. She loved nursery in the end, despite the many tears initially! Such a great range of activities and excellent food - I never needed to worry that she won't be fed well. Brilliant staff and so caring to all the children.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. Our son left only because we have moved and him attending this nursery is no longer possible. He has flourished at Blue Butterfly Montessori. All carers are so attentive and took great care of my son. He bonded really well with all caretakers. They teach them sign language, how to use a spoon and really develop all the skills they need to have as well as encouraging independence. I can only tell the difference as we have now experienced a different setting at the new nursery and I can compare the two. I wish there was a Blue Butterfly in Hitchin!

My daughter has always felt so secure and confident at the nursery, she loves going in every day and she feels very loved by the staff there. It is comforting to know that she is in a place that really cares about her. The staff go out of their way to make the children feel safe and welcome. I feel like the staff at every stage have always tried to have a personal connection with my daughter and it's really showed in her attitude towards going in every morning. I appreciate that the nursery also really focused on her learning her numbers and letters and advancing her writing and reading skills, they've also taught her how to use her manners and she's really soaked up the nursery's golden rules for behaviours. She will really miss her comfort zone of nursery and we appreciate everything the nursery has done for her.

We started at Blue Butterfly Montessori (Stanmore) in January, earlier this year. As my son transferred from another nursery, the change really unsettled him at first and the management team were really helpful with this transition, supporting both us, as parents, and my son through this difficult period. He soon settled in and now loves his new routine at the nursery. The staff are friendly, approachable, kind and caring and really take an active approach in ensuring the children are well looked after and their learning needs. They provide regular feedback on your child's progress in form of in-the-moment feedback and at quarterly parents' evenings. The nursery is purpose-built and they give particular attention to hygiene and cleanliness. The menu has a good variety too. Also, my son particularly enjoys activities provided by external companies.

Blue Butterfly Montessori has been an incredible part of our family's journey. Our eldest was among the first to join, and the nursery's support and dedication have been outstanding. From fostering their curiosity to nurturing their creativity, our children have truly excelled in this space. The key workers are exceptional, supporting their learning journeys and identifying their individual needs. As our eldest prepares to transition to her next school, she was guided and prepared for assessments, successfully passing them, a testament to the incredible care and education provided here. We're grateful for the wonderful foundation and zest for learning they've gained at Blue Butterfly Montessori.

One lady has really helped our daughter settle in and after 2 years at Blue Butterfly, I can say the best nursery in the region.

I would strongly recommend this nursery!

It's a very expensive nursery for what it offers, and they keep increasing the price. The key workers are really good but staff turnover is so high that it's very unsettling for children. The office staff don't deal with concerns in an appropriate and empathetic manner. Portion sizes of the food are tiny.

I highly recommend this nursery. My daughter has been attending Blue Butterfly for about 8 months now and she has thrived. I was a little concerned when she started as she was and still is at home a fussy eater, however at nursery the staff have been so supportive and now she loves meals at nursery. All practitioners provide high-quality care and education for my little one, she cries every day that she wants to go back into nursery. The nursery has high security and cross-checks with staff and everyone who enters the nursery. It puts my mind at ease that she is in a safe nurturing environment with people that put children’s care first!

As a result, we decided to move our little one to another nursery.

We have had an extremely positive experience at Blue Butterfly. Our son is due to start reception this year and we will miss the attention and care he gets from nursery. The nursery has some wonderful teachers who go above and beyond what is expected of them to deliver an outstanding experience to the children. I appreciate everything the nursery has done to encourage my child to feel supported, comfortable, and welcomed from day one.

Great that our son has developed and improved in all aspects of learning, socialising, and especially talking comfortably. His vocabulary has improved greatly in just over a year at the nursery and he is so much more confident with everyone he speaks to. Great teachers and amazing staff that are all very attentive to everyone’s needs.

A nurturing learning setting that is catered to individual child's needs, the staff are both supporting the running of the nursery operations and educators are providing an exceptional service. Having been at the setting for over two years we have had the added support of transitioning through key developmental, learning milestones in supporting both child and parents. We are so thrilled we chose Blue Butterfly Stanmore for our daughter. Born in the first lockdown, she began in Yellow Butterflies at 14 months. We were worried that she would find it particularly difficult to transition into a childcare setting having been born into a very isolated world. How wrong we were! Through her journey in the Yellow Room, the Green Room and now in the Blue Room, my child has experienced the highest quality of care, kindness and nurturing from the professional and compassionate team within each setting. She has flourished into an independent, curious, animated, well-mannered young girl, with her bubbly personality and confidence shining through. The management and specialist room staff have all been wonderful, professional, committed, and kind and we couldn't recommend the nursery enough. A big thank you for instilling in our daughter a strong love of learning in such an encouraging, inclusive engaging and fun environment!

The positive development in our child since we started 12 months ago has been astonishing. The staff helped my child settle in really well after transitioning from another nursery. He is now a confident 4-year-old. My child seems very happy when dropped off in the morning and has made some really nice friends. I cannot fault the teachers and staff. I would highly recommend this Montessori.

All the staff have been wonderful both in his room and in the office. We always get a good handover at the end of the day and any questions we have are always answered. Communication is always regular from the nursery, as well as regular observations with regard to his development. We recently, unfortunately, had a hospital stay with my youngest child and the staff were amazing at providing extra support to my son and us as a family, so grateful for their kindness.
