This is a wonderful environment with great supportive teachers. I am confident my son is safe, cared for, and encouraged to explore whatever interests him at the time. The activities are beautifully presented and varied. My two-year-old enjoys both playing inside and working on his art projects, as well as riding bikes and playing ball games in the garden. He recently joined a forest school and gets excited about making popcorn in the garden’s bell tent. He has bonded well with his teachers since starting the nursery four months ago, and I simply couldn’t imagine a better place for him.
Our daughter has attended the nursery since she was 2 and has had a brilliant experience - from the nurturing, kind staff and the beautiful, large garden to the wide array of activities (forest school, yoga, science experiments, sewing...) - I can't think of a better place for her to have spent her pre-school years.
The staff are smart and thoughtful - everything about the nursery is designed and implemented for a child-centred reason.
I'm very grateful that my daughter has been able to attend this nursery. I have only positive things to say about it and would absolutely recommend it.
They are really engaging with our daughter and care for her like one of their own, it’s so reassuring to know she’s safe and happy.
I honestly can’t praise or recommend this nursery highly enough.
This nursery is incredible! The teachers are caring, dedicated and inspiring, the building is very homely and light, and the garden is huge and idyllic. Our daughter has experienced and enjoyed all seasons in it, from water play in the summer, to discovering a hedgehog waking up from his winter's hibernation, and den building in autumn. As a European parent, I felt that the school was very encouraging and inclusive when it comes to different cultures, languages and nationalities. Our daughter would go to the school Monday-Friday, from 9am to 3pm and has always looked forward to it. We have always received accurate information on her developments and assistance if needed. The whole school ethos is children-centered and everyone strives to grow the natural talents and interests of every individual child. Every parent I speak to feels the same about this school and would recommend it thoroughly!
Our family moved to this area this year, and feel so lucky to put my son in Riverside Montessori. The teachers and staff are truly amazing, kind, and very supportive. Honestly, I was a bit worried in the beginning as my son is not a native speaker, but the teachers gave me confidence and showed me their patience. During these months in the nursery, I can see my son has grown and learned so much, he becomes more confident and more independent. Our family is extremely grateful for that.
My daughter has been going to Riverside Montessori for almost a year now and I am absolutely thrilled at the experience she’s had. The teaching staff are incredible, the weekly forest school seems like so much fun and I can see how much my daughter loves learning as a result of her experience. It’s a truly special place and I only wish they offered places beyond age five!
My son and we are really happy and very thankful to be a part of the nursery. They take ultimate care of each child passionately and my son is learning a lot in the nursery. Definitely great staff and nursery.
We looked at most of the nurseries in the St. Margarets and Twickenham area when we moved into the area last summer but always felt that something was missing. A lot of the nurseries were very rigid on their settling in (or should I say lack of) approach which put us off given our daughter was born just before the pandemic and is quite shy and anxious by nature. Many had a high staff turnover or seemed to be run by staff who lacked enthusiasm. A few lacked or had no outside space. When we visited St. Margaret's Montessori we were bowled over by the energy of the people who work there, the wonderful setting including the amazing garden, and of course the Montessori principles which we knew would suit our curious and inquisitive daughter. What we didn't realise at the time was just how nurturing, caring, patient and flexible they would be. I feel so happy that she is in such great hands.
Absolutely wonderful nursery, with equally wonderful headteacher and key workers, who are very caring, nurturing, and genuinely interested in my son's development. The nursery offers an impressive array of learning facilities, tools, and subject areas to expand the little one's mind to new, exciting things. I feel that being at Riverside has really bought out my son's inquisitive side and often comes home curious about the things he has learned that day, such as how volcanoes work (at the age of three and a half!). What I also love about the nursery is the amazing garden and the encouragement of engaging with nature at a young age. A magical nursery, one that I would highly recommend to any family.
My daughter has the most fun when she is at nursery. She fully engages with the Montessori activities and her enthusiasm is nourished as the teachers follow her lead, pursuing her individual interests alongside her.
Last term, parents were invited in for an afternoon giving the children an opportunity to show us their classroom and demonstrate some of their activities. Personally, a highlight was seeing the pride, care and respect the children have for their environment and equipment.
Through membership of this special community, my four-year-old knows how to interact with other children and adults, how to express herself and be understood. From the stories I hear about her nursery day, it’s clear she knows what’s fair, inclusive, polite and generous, and that she strives for these qualities in herself.
The staff are wonderful, nurturing, smiley and enthusiastic. The nursery provides a home-from-home experience for my little girl who has so much fun exploring the various indoor activities as well as the natural world outside in the lovely rear garden. She has really flourished from being at the nursery and that’s thanks to the highly skilled staff who have a very bespoke approach to bringing out the best in each child. Forest school is a real winner too - I keep telling her how lucky she is to experience it each week! It’s the most wonderful start to her independent life away from home.
