I can't begin to describe the positive impact this nursery has had on our son. We and he adored his time here. The love and care they show is beyond any we have seen in the other settings our 3 children have attended, and we can't wait for our youngest to be old enough to go. If you are reading this,

This is an outstanding nursery. We have had two children through it over the last 4 years (including current). The care from the staff is clear, you can tell there is a real passion for what they do and personal commitment to the children. The location is safe, clean, varied in activities and has a
great outdoor space. They engage parents in social events and are really on the front foot with the welfare and learning of the kids. We are thrilled to have been able to send our little ones there and can't endorse them enough.

Both our children have attended St Margaret's Montessori and we absolutely love this nursery! What makes it truly exceptional and special is the staff - they are incredible. So caring, nurturing, and genuinely invested in each child. I completely trust them with my little one and I think that is hard
to find. They live and breathe the Montessori approach and both my kids became so much more independent and confident during their time at the nursery.


There are also lovely extras like forest school with the brilliant Scott, football coaching, yoga, and the intergenerational project where kids visit a local care home. Not to mention the brilliant garden, which is massive, and the kids spend loads of time outside learning and exploring. I couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough and we'll be so sad to leave when our son is ready for school.

I could not recommend this nursery enough! Having worked with children for many years, and running a little home nursery myself, I was quite picky about finding something very special. This place is magic! I am so glad I found it. The staff are incredible! They genuinely adore the children and love
their job. The way they speak to the children is beautiful and respectful. If I could design the perfect nursery, this would be it! Miss it sorely!

Our daughter has been at St Margaret's Montessori since January and we are delighted with the nursery. It is a warm, calm, and loving place, where the children are really happy. The staff provide stimulating activities for the children (including forest school) and encourage independence. The garden
is really amazing and I can tell my daughter has benefitted from having so much outside time. The staff are exceptional, really experienced and dedicated, and they know all the children so well.

We are continually amazed by this nursery. It is one in a million. We are so lucky to have found it, and it's more than worth the bus / drive to get there. The head educator leads by example, and what an example she is. The staff are so nurturing, so caring, so engaged, so invested in each child. I
am so sad that my son will leave this place as he goes on to school - they could not have taken better care of him. What an amazing place and we will miss it dearly. At least we will be back for my other two children. Thank you, thank you.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found this nursery for our daughter. The teachers are so kind, experienced, and professional, and the whole atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The head teacher is amazing-always so calm, approchable and supportive. The big garden is such a bonus-they go outside daily,
even in winter, which she absolutely loves. The space is always clean, cozy, and well looked after, with toys and materials carefully maintained. There are also lovely activities organised regularly for both kids and parents, and everything is done with such care. It's a true Montessori setting, and as a non-English speaking family, we've really appreciated how supportive the teachers are in helping our daughter build confidence and pick up English naturally. She settled in quickly and is genuinely happy every day. We couldn't ask for a better start to her early years.

i cannot praise this nursery more if i tried. this is a truly magical place for little children. The staff are angels who truly enjoy nurturing the children. they are so caring, compassionate, dedicated, patient and loving on top of extremely well trained. my little one has developed so much since

My son graduated from Riverside Montessori St Margarets in June 2024, and I couldn't be happier with our experience. He had an absolutely wonderful time there. The teachers are like mothers, nurturing, caring, and incredibly supportive. They provided a safe and loving environment that made my son look
forward to going to nursery every day. Additionally, the staff were always supportive of parents, offering guidance and assistance whenever needed. Their dedication and commitment to the children and their families are truly commendable.

Six months ago, we had to move to London due to my husband's job. Riverside Nursery Schools, St Margarets Montessori was the first school our son attended in a new country. Despite not knowing any English, the compassion of the teachers, the headmaster, and all the staff always made him feel happy and
at peace. His language skills and confidence developed quickly. We are grateful to all the teachers who do their jobs with passion and to our headmaster, who is always present and supportive. You have filled our first memories in a new place with happiness. We are deeply grateful and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

St Margarets Montessori has been a game-changer for our son over the past nine months. From the very first day, the staff went above and beyond to help him settle in. The teachers are not just experts in early childhood education, but they're also genuinely warm and patient people. They seem to have
an endless supply of compassion and understanding, which is truly a gift.
The facilities are top-notch, with a garden that's practically a kid's paradise compared to most other nurseries. It's spacious enough for the little ones to run around and explore to their hearts' content. Watching our son play there, make new friends, and thrive in such a nurturing environment has been a joy.
We feel like we've struck gold with St Margarets Montessori. It's a place where we know our son is in great hands, learning and growing every day. We couldn't be happier with our choice!

My son has had such a wonderful time at this nursery. He is treated so well by the fantastic teachers who show patience and empathy whilst encouraging him to be independent.

Couldn’t be happier with the nursery. It’s so nurturing and caring. My younger daughter is now at the nursery following her big sister. It has a family feel to it and I love the Montessori methods used to teach and inspire the children to grow in confidence and mental ability. Would recommend it to

My son loves this nursery and has made many friends, one of the drawing points for us was the big open space in the back garden which they make the most of with forest school, my son loves to make popcorn in the big tent outside and search for creepy crawlies. The activities are engaging, using basic
objects in an interesting way to pique the child's curiosity. I love the fact that you don't have to have expensive equipment with all the bells and whistles to engage kids. Staff are attentive to the child's interest and intentional about how each activity can develop a child - it's great to be part of his learning and get regular updates from an app they use. I want my son to be well-rounded and enjoy all aspects of his learning journey and so far, this nursery has been a great fit for him.

My son has been attending this nursery for over one year. It is the perfect fit for our family because we absolutely adore and trust the educators. Our time at Riverside, St Margaret’s has been a smooth transition into school. The Montessori principles are meticulously executed by the wonderful teaching staff. Our toddler now fearlessly marches up the steps to school and blows us a kiss from the door. He is so excited to get to explore, tinker,

Cannot praise the team at Riverside, St Margaret’s highly enough. Have never encountered such a dedicated team before. They care deeply about the children, and the strength and security of the relationships formed are obvious. They go above and beyond in so many ways and have provided additional support

This is a wonderful environment with great supportive teachers. I am confident my son is safe, cared for, and encouraged to explore whatever interests him at the time. The activities are beautifully presented and varied. My two-year-old enjoys both playing inside and working on his art projects, as
well as riding bikes and playing ball games in the garden. He recently joined a forest school and gets excited about making popcorn in the garden’s bell tent. He has bonded well with his teachers since starting the nursery four months ago, and I simply couldn’t imagine a better place for him.

Riverside Nursery Schools, St Margaret's Montessori is a very special place.
Our daughter has attended the nursery since she was 2 and has had a brilliant experience - from the nurturing, kind staff and the beautiful, large garden to the wide array of activities (forest school, yoga, science experiments,
sewing...) - I can't think of a better place for her to have spent her pre-school years.
The staff are smart and thoughtful - everything about the nursery is designed and implemented for a child-centred reason.
I'm very grateful that my daughter has been able to attend this nursery. I have only positive things to say about it and would absolutely recommend it.

Welcome to St Margarets Montessori!


The best way I can describe St Margarets Montessori Nursery School is using the Zulu word, ‘Ubuntu’. A word to express the understanding of human interdependency and connectedness. It is a celebration of the wonders of our diversity, encouraging each individual to live their full potential and see the potential in others.


Ubuntu is evident in our dedicated team, always ready to support each other, to create the best possible community environment for our children and their families to join.


The Montessori philosophy is closely linked with this same understanding, called the Cosmic Education. Respecting that each child is important as an individual, but that all of these individuals are interlinked with each other, and nature as a whole.


In our rich and very carefully prepared school environment, the children are encouraged to explore, discover, question and reflect. Curiosity leads them to engage and learn, to keep probing deeper, to develop their concentration and an inquisitive mind. Leading them to love learning and become learners for life; confident and aware of their importance.


We are so fortunate to have a large garden that the children can enjoy every day, whatever the weather! On a daily basis, they experience their connection with nature, learning their essential role in the balance of our common home. This is supported through Forest School as well as being part of the Eco School.


We don’t only connect the children to the natural world but also to the world in which they live, helping them to feel part of the wider community. Walks to the shop and library, helping our neighbours and visiting our local Care Home via our Intergenerational Project with BRIGHTER TOGETHER, all foster strong relationships with our local community.


Our family is always growing, and we would love to invite you to come and see what we are all about.
