Maggie's Nursery

I've recommended three couples.

A modern, beautifully refurbished and caring nursery. My child has settled in with ease and it is clear how much he enjoys attending and interacting with the staff. The staff have set well thought out plans to improve development and regularly keep parents updated on this with the online app. I would highly recommend Children 1st @ Oakwood.

An absolutely fantastic nursery to say the very least. The renovation is beyond impressive and far more than I imagined. When I walked around for the open day, I was not prepared at all for how brilliant it really is. The staff and lovely owners of this nursery are amazing and I am very proud and grateful to be able to send my son to such a beautiful nursery.

Can't praise this nursery enough, staff bend over backwards to help and the communication is fantastic. Children are happy and thrive and have a great relationship with staff. The facilities are incredible and I wouldn't send my children anywhere else ever again.

I was so nervous about returning to work and leaving my little boy in nursery so young, however, Children’s 1st Day Nursery have been absolutely amazing with my little boy, and the communication between myself and the nursery is amazing, they always keep me informed of everything he’s been doing in the day and send the most lovely pictures. My little boy has a food allergy and they have been so good catering for him and he doesn’t miss out at all on anything, I wouldn’t send him anywhere else now, incredible!

Our child was in this nursery for two years and it was then taken over by Children 1st in 2020. Beautiful building recently refurbished which has been the main focus in the past year. Unfortunately, since being taken over by Children 1st the staff turnover has been very high. On a couple of occasions, we dropped our child off with someone we have never seen before. Communication has been poor during this time and we got few photos and updates. To start with there was little focus on a keyworker or offering some continuity for children. Whilst some children don’t mind who is looking after them there are other children who are more aware of their carers. Building a connection with a keyworker makes children feel more safe and secure providing a safer base for development and learning. I will say all the staff members we met were lovely. I just feel there needs to be more improvement in overall staff stability and communication with parents.

My daughter joined the nursery as a baby prior to it being taken over by Children 1st and whilst we chose this nursery due to the lovely nature of the staff members this has only served to enhance the nursery further with even more wonderful members that have been added to the staff team. As a family, we have seen an overall amazing transformation of the utilisation of the building and grounds to further enhance the potential of all ages of children's learning and development to the communication between staff and parents. Our daughter loves going to nursery and is always eager to attend and tells us about her day. We have noticed increased confidence as we are also notified of our daughters next steps and targets so we can support her at home too. I am so delighted that our daughter is a part of Children 1st Day Nursery and we look forward to another few years with them. Definitely recommend this nursery without hesitation.

My daughter absolutely loves the nursery and all the staff, she always talks about her carers and friends, and what she's been up to. Staff always take the time to tell us what's she's been doing each day and they're great at keeping us up to date with her development. Since Children 1st took over the nursery, the facilities and equipment available to the children are second to none and they've really made the most of the building and surrounding grounds to make a fun and engaging environment for them. We particularly like their forest school and how they encourage outdoor activity. We would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

This nursery is excellent. Leaving your child in the care of others is a hard thing but I leave each morning knowing my child is happy, loved and safe. My child has blossomed under the care, it is worth every penny.

Both my grandchildren attend Children 1st @ Oakwood Day Nursery. Since Children 1st have taken over, my grandchildren have enjoyed coming to nursery and now get upset when leaving. To me, this proves how much fun they are having so much fun. They are learning more and more each week and have made amazing relationships with staff and their peers. The staff at the nursery work really hard to make sure the children enjoy their day. They are friendly and always happy to help. The management team are lovely and you can really tell that the whole team are there not only for the children but parents as well. If you are thinking of a nursery that feels like a home I would defiantly recommend it!

The staff at Children 1st @ Oakwood have worked really hard to help my very shy son to settle into the nursery and have offered ideas and tried new things to help my son to communicate whilst at nursery. I have also found the management staff to be helpful and understanding during our transition from one nursery to Children 1st @ Oakwood.

I have two daughters that attend Children’s 1st @ Oakwood. I have seen both my girls form brilliant bonds with their key carers and grow as individuals. They both love coming to nursery and when they are back at home, my oldest is always asking if tomorrow is nursery day! The staff are lovely, welcoming and will always go the extra mile. It’s a brilliant nursery and I would definitely recommend if you want a nursery with a good family feel to it.

Children 1st have only just taken over our nursery and so far I am very impressed! From day one, the owners were there to meet us in reception, lots of work has been done to improve the nursery. We now also get information about what our children are doing on a weekly basis and home learning activities. Very impressed with Children 1st's approach!

Our daughter goes in and leaves nursery a very happy little girl. The staff are lovely and friendly and give great, informative feedback at pick up time. It has a great outside space for our little one to play and explore, which she does every day, rain or shine. We have no regrets with our choice of nursery. Our daughter loves it and she is very well cared for.
